EWING TWP. - Leonora A. Orndoff, 90, of Ewing Twp. died Monday at Care One in Ewing. Born in Oak Grove, Wisconsin, she was a school bus driver for the Bordentown School District and a long time school crossing guard in Ewing Twp.
Daughter of the late Edmund and Clara Tolsma Luedtke; she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and James Carmer of Indiana, Laura and William Boehle of Ewing Twp.; a sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Ronald Rieck of Wisconsin; 2 sisters-in-law, Connie Luedtke of SD and Caroline Luedtke of FL; 2 grandchildren, Bryan and Eric Boehle; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00am at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Rd, Pennington with the Rev. Daniel Whitener pastor of Abiding Presence Lutheran Church in Ewing officiating. Entombment will be in the Greenwood cemetery Mausoleum, Hamilton. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
Gladys Emily Rosenthal

Gladys Emily Hall Rosenthal, a long time resident of Little Silver, NJ, died peacefully in Pennington, NJ on September 20 at the age of 99.
The youngest daughter of the late James Domett Hall and Daisy Belcher Hall, Gladys was born in Wimbledon England and educated in London. She came to the United States in 1926 and never lost her accent or her pride in her British heritage. Her work as a manager for the Lerner Stores gave her the opportunity to travel to all 48 states. After her marriage to Alfred Rosenthal in 1953, Gladys owned a dress shop in Red Bank, NJ for many years before devoting her time to traveling.
After witnessing the abuse of an animal as a young girl in England, Gladys committed herself to supporting the humane treatment of animals. She and Alfred devoted their energies to supporting the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School where the administration and teaching building is named in her honor, More recently, her support helped launch the Shelter Animal Medicine Program and build the Rosenthal Imaging and Therapy Center at Penn Vet. Closer to home, she was an enthusiastic supporter of the Monmouth County SPCA and cherished the companionship of the dogs she adopted from them. Gladys often said that she felt animals were, “on the whole, much more reliable than people.”
Gladys was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alfred, her devoted son, Donald, and her sisters Ivy and Violet Hall. She is survived by her grand nephew Jerry Rosenthal and his wife Cionna Buckley and her great grand nieces Annaliese, Jocelyn and Cionna Rosenthal as well as several devoted friends and caregivers
Funeral services will be private. Memorial donations can be made to either the Monmouth County SPCA or the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School Shelter Animal Medicine Program. Arrangements are by the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Rd, Pennington.
Martin T. Gill II, 58

Lawrenceville, NJ - Martin died Saturday September 20th 2008 at the University Medical Center of Princeton. Martin fought a valiant battle with cancer.
Martin T. Gill was born on January 26th 1950 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the loving son of Martin T. & Helen I. Gill nee Sakolasky. Martin is survived by his loving wife Janet S. nee Frymire of 35 years and their 3 children; Hilary F. nee Meola and son-in law Joseph A. Colleen M. and Matthew M. Mahmet and Patrick M. and daughter in law Elizabeth A. nee Rogener and his brother, Charles J. Gill and his wife Sharon L. Prizer of Moorestown, New Jersey.
Martin was a graduate of Neshaminy High School of Langhorne, Pennsylvania class of 1968. He is an alumni of Temple University in Philadelphia, earning his degree from the School of Radio, Television, and Film.
He worked in the journalism industry for over 40 years; his career began as a copyboy at KYW Philadelphia, NJN Public Television and many other local affiliated TV networks around the country. For the past 25 years Martin was a dedicated employee of CBS News in New York City, NY. He has been a Producer, Assignment Editor, News Manager and Bureau Chief in Detroit, MI as well as New York City, NY. He was very passionate about his career and accomplishments including his 4 Emmy Awards in journalistic broadcasting.
Martin and his family enjoyed their summers on the beach in Cape May, New Jersey and Grayling, MI where he was an avid sailor on Lake Margrethae. He was an avid model rail road enthusiast and supported his children’s athletics throughout high school and college, and Big Ten College Sports.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, September 26th, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church of Ewing, 100 Scotch Road Ewing, NJ. There will be no calling hours. A private burial will be held at a future date in Grayling, MI. Arrangements are by the Wilson- Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Road, Pennington, NJ.
Helen Josephine D'Arcy
PENNINGTON - Helen Josephine D’Arcy, 102, of Pennington passed into God’s eternal and loving care Tuesday June 6th at Capital Health Medical Center-Hopewell with her loving daughters by her side. Born in Trenton, she was a life-long resident of Ewing Twp. for 50 years, before moving to Pennington during the last ten years. She retired from General Motors Ternstedt Division after 28 years where she was an inspector. She was a past member of the Ewing Twp. Senior Club and Ewing Democratic Club. She was a parishioner of St. James RC Church in Pennington. She loved life, her family and friends and her infectious smile will be missed by everyone’s life that she touched. She enjoyed gardening, needle point and cooking for her family. She loved and enjoyed summer shore trips with her daughters to Brigantine.
Daughter of the late Anthony and Katarzyna Robak, wife of the late James E. D’Arcy, sister of the late Thaddeus, Anthony, Edward, Henry, Irene and Eleanor. She is survived by daughters Patricia D’Arcy of Pennington and Cheryl Weyrauch of Wilke-Barre, PA, and many nieces and nephews of which her godson Ted Robak and Dennis Robak were special.
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated Wednesday June 14th 11:00 a.m. at St. James RC Church, 115 East Delaware Ave., Pennington. The burial will follow in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, Ewing. The calling hours will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at the Church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. James RC Church or Catholic Charities.
Karen M. Hoenigsberg
WEST TRENTON - Karen M. Hoenigsberg, 64, of W. Trenton passed away Tuesday May 16th at Compassionate Care Hospice. Born in Hanover, PA, she had resided in the area for many years. She was a member and Treasurer for Trinity United Methodist Church in Ewing.
Daughter of the late Richard Utz, wife of the late Kurt B. Hoenigsberg, she is survived by her mother, Jacqueline Behl Utz, 2 brothers, Kevin Trayner of Hamilton and Brian Trayner of Sarasota FL, 2 sisters, Diane Turner of Fairless Hills, PA and Andrea Trayner of Hamilton, NJ, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday May 20th 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 1985 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ 08618 with the Rev. Brian Joyce officiating. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. The interment will follow in Ewing Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church.
Alyssa Sheehan Huntley
HUNTLEY, ALYSSA SHEEHAN. On 27 May 2017 Alyssa ended her fight against Huntington’s Disease at home in Ewing, NJ. Although the disease won in the end, Alyssa gave it a long and courageous fight. She was nine days shy of her 55th birthday.
Born and raised in Springfield, MA, Alyssa graduated from Cathedral High School and received her BA in Foreign Languages from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. After graduation, Alyssa lived in Taiwan and Japan for four years to perfect her language skills before returning to the University of Kansas to earn her MA in Asian Art History. While at KU, Alyssa decided that she wanted to teach high school Chinese and Japanese, so she also earned foreign language teaching certification.
After she graduated from KU, Alyssa and her husband Alan spent almost ten years living overseas in Japan and Israel. While in Japan, Alyssa was certified as a Master of Ikebana (flower arranging), and also studied calligraphy and tea ceremony. She used her teaching skills to teach English and Chinese to Japanese students. While stationed overseas, Alyssa and Alan were able to travel throughout Asia, Europe and the Middle East; an opportunity Alyssa greatly enjoyed. In March 2005 they settled in Ewing, NJ. Alyssa and Alan enjoyed going to Celtic festivals, baseball games, the Shore, and just driving around sightseeing. Alyssa was a member of Abiding Presence Lutheran Church in Ewing, NJ.
Alyssa was a thoughtful, kind, sweet, and generous person who brought joy to all the people in her life. She was adored by all. Alyssa's striking and bold fashion sense expressed her identity: confident yet carefree, unconventional, and featuring beautiful bright hues and designs which spread joy and fun to others. Alyssa found goodness in everyone and beauty in all aspects of life.
Alyssa was predeceased by her grandparents, step-father, mother-in-law, and precious son Colin (who passed away on 23 May 2000). She is survived by her loving husband of 22 years (companion for more than 27 years), Alan of Ewing, NJ; mother Rita Sheehan Bell of Springfield, MA; sister Kathleen Sheehan (spouse Richard Allen) of Springfield, MA; brother Kevin Sheehan (spouse Julie Michalidis) of Roxbury, MA; sister Martha Sheehan of Arlington, MA; father-in-law Alan of East Longmeadow, MA; brother-in-law Bruce (spouse Vanessa) of McDonough, GA; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and her cats.
Alan would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Comfort Keepers in Robbinsville, NJ, but particularly Jacquelyn Wolff who was one of Alyssa’s primary caregivers and friend for more than five years. It was Jacky’s son who said it best- “Don’t be sad, Alyssa’s not sick anymore.”

LAWRENCEVILLE - Ann P. Bregenzer, 97, of Lawrenceville passed away on Friday May 19th at The Atrium at Lawrenceville. Born in Hopewell Twp. she was a former resident of Hopewell, Stockton and Toms River, NJ. She worked at The Candy Factory, Pennington; Rockwell MFG Co, Hopewell; Colonial Cadillac, Ewing and ABC Caging and Fulfillment Service Inc, Toms River, NJ. She was a life member of the Hopewell Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and Hopewell American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 339.
The daughter of the late Samuel and Josephine Prytyka, wife of the late Leo J. Bregenzer and sister of the late Brother Michael Prytyka; she is survived by her daughter, Carol A. Foss of Lawrenceville, a brother Stephen Patterson of Oakland Park, FL, a sister-in-law, Mary Bregenzer of Hopewell, several nieces and nephews.
The viewing will be Thursday May 25th from 6-7p.m. at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Road, Pennington with funeral services at 7 p.m. The interment will be private. Barbara Joan Lake
HOPEWELL, NJ - Barbara Joan Lake, 76, of Hopewell passed away Friday June 2nd at the University Medical Center at Princeton. Born in Princeton, she was a life-long area resident. She was known for her kind disposition, humming, sweet tooth, love of gardening and baking, especially her much loved brownies. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and true friend to all that know her. She was a member of St. Alphonsus RC Church in Hopewell.
Daughter of the late Elizabeth “Sis” Weisneck Furlong, she is survived by her husband of 57 years, Theodore J. Lake, Sr., her son and daughter-in-law, Theodore J. Jr. and Nancy Tawfik Lake of Hamilton, grandchildren, Miles, Layla and baby Dean Lake, her brothers, William Furlong and his wife Ella, Richard, Gary, James and Ronald Furlong, her sisters, Mariam Kimmelman and her husband Bob, Carol Luster and Patricia Kane, many nieces and nephews.
