McGrady, Erna (Riker), age 92, of Warwick, NY formerly of West Milford died Thursday May 31, 2007 in Haskell. Beloved mother of Edna Steines; sister of Wilma Usinowicz, Gladys Bishop and Myrtle Whitehead; grandmother of eleven, great-grandmother of twenty-eight and great-great grandmother of three. Predeceased by her daughter, Shirley Corter and her husband Edward. Funeral services Monday 11 AM at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford. Interment at Midvale Cemetery, Wanaque. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.

Milligan, Bernadine A., age 52, on Sunday, January 28, 2007 beloved mother of Cori Milligan and Kara Thompson of Hewitt, sister of Dennis and Robert Milligan, Jr. and Cynthia McGraw all of Hewitt. She lived most of her life in Hewitt. Funeral services are private. Visiting Wednesday 9-11 AM at the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford. Private cremation to follow.

Moeller, John H., 101, on Thursday, October 4, 2007 of West Milford. Born in Paterson to John F. and Ida (Mills) Moeller, the family moved to Oak Ridge in 1916 and to Macopin in 1923. After his marriage to Eva (Fogg) in 1935 at Third Presbyterian Church, Paterson, the couple took up residence in West Milford and lived there the rest of their lives. Before going to work for an electric furnace firm in Paterson, John attended Paterson schools and Butler High School. His elementary education was in the one room Oak Ridge School. Mr. Moeller went into law enforcement in 1929, first as a part time constable in West Milford and the Greenwood Lake areas. He became the first full time West Milford police officer in 1934 with the annual salary of $1300 ($5 a day), was promoted to Captain in 1940 and became West Milford’s first Police Chief in 1949 at $26 per day. He drove a motorcycle or his own car before there was a township-owned police car. Chief John Moeller retired in 1971. He headed Passaic County Chiefs Association in 1967, was a member of the Echo Lake Baptist Church, West Milford Rotary, Citizen of the Year in 1962, VFW Man of the Year in the 1960’s and had a testimonial in his honor in1956. John celebrated his 100th birthday in May 2006 at the Apshawa Fire House. Surviving are nephews, Charles and John J. Moeller, a niece, Mary Jane Fox, a brother-in-law, Alex Fogg, a sister-in-law, Lillian Costa, and many more nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife Eva (Fogg) in 1972, two brothers, Joseph who was Deputy Chief of Motor Vehicle Inspection, a young brother, Wilbur and a young sister, Mary Moeller. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 9:30 AM at the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford. Interment Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson. Visiting at the Richards Funeral Home, West Milford on Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Milford PBA John Moeller Scholarship Fund, PO Box 125, West Milford, NJ 07480.

Padley, Mary A. (Bussanich), age 94, a retired stenographer for Bayer Company, NY, NY died Sunday, May 13, 2007 at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pequannock Township, NJ. Mrs. Padley lived in West Milford, NJ for 50 years. She is survived by three sons, Gregory Padley of Monroe, NY, Walter Padley of Vernon, NJ and John Padley of CA; a daughter, Marilyn Laino of West Milford, NJ; a brother, Albert Bussanich of Bellaire, FL; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1996. She was the daughter of the late John and Antonia (Scrivanich) Bussanich. Visiting at the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford on Thursday (5/17) from 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 18, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Richards Funeral Home, West Milford. Rev. Dr. Janet Macgregor-Williams of West Milford Presbyterian Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Heights cemetery in West Milford.

Rhinesmith, Russell S., age 89 died Saturday August 11, 2007 at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pompton Plains. He was the son of Alvin and Lucy (Sly) Rhinesmith, Mr. Rhinesmith resided in Pompton Lakes for the past 60 years. He was employed by Peerless Tube. Co. in Bloomfield where he worked as a machinist for 37 years, retiring in 1983. He was an Army Veteran of World War II attaining rank of SGT. Mr Rhinesmith was a member of Bethany Church, Wyckoff. Surviving children include his son Gordon R. Rhinesmith and a daughter LaVon G. Collis. Also surviving is a sister Avonne Van Dyke, five grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Wednesday August 15 at Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark-Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale. Interment at Cedar Heights Cemetery, West Milford. Visiting hours Tuesday August 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.

Sanders, John R., age 76, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Hospice of New Jersey in Wayne. A retired self-employed mason & carpenter, Mr. Sanders was a life long resident of West Milford. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Josephine (Melay) and three sisters, Stella Shenise of FL, Mary Garrison of West Milford and Lorraine Schauger of OK. He was the son of the late John and Ethel (Babcock) Sanders. Funeral Services Saturday 10AM at the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford. Interment Clove Cemetery, Wantage. Visiting Friday 2-4 and 7-9PM.

Swan, Robert J. Sr., 74, a chief inspector for Arrow Group Industries, Haskell, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Chilton Hospital in Pequannock. Mr. Swan lived in Pompton Lakes since 1956 and was previously from Oakland. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the son of Hugh and Laura (Bush) Swan. Beloved husband of Barbara (Redner), devoted father of two son, Steven R. of Lancaster, PA, and Robert J., Jr. of Durham, NC; a brother, Arnold of Birmingham, AL. Also, survived by six grandchildren, Christian, Matthew, Daniel, Ethan, Matt and Brittany. Funeral services 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at the Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale. Entombment Laurel Grove Memorial Park in Totowa. Titus, Eugene F., age 78, a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, Kearny, died Monday, February 12, 2007 at his home in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey. He was the son of Frank and Doris (Schulz) Titus. He was also a Pompton Lakes School Crossing Guard from 1999-2006. Mr. Titus was a Pompton Lakes resident for 42 years and was previously from Clifton. He is survived by his wife Mary (Qualantone); a son, Eugene Titus, Jr. of Riverdale; a daughter, Lynn M. Titus of Pompton Lakes; three granddaughters, Melissa, Kristen, Jessica Titus. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Samuel Titus, and his mother, Doris Emma Schulz. Visitation Friday 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale. Friends will meet 10:30 AM Saturday, February 17, 2007 at the funeral home before going to Mount Rest Cemetery, Butler for an 11 AM graveside service.

Trappe, Donald Edward, 59, of West Milford formerly of Hackensack, passed away on Saturday October 6, 2007 at his residence where he lived with his loving mother Clara. He was a loyal employee of Myron Manufacturing of Maywood, where he worked for thirty eight years as a fork lift operator. He loved animals and they were always a great part of his life. All services were private under the direction of Richards Funeral Home, West Milford .

Vreeland, Geraldine F. (Brinster), 46, a billing & coding manager for Pediatric Arts of Northern NJ, Butler, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at her home in Vernon, NJ. Mrs. Vreeland lived in Vernon, NJ for 17 years and was previously from Highland Lakes. She is survived by her husband Randall, a son Byron Tiritilli of Newton, NJ, two step-sons Jake and Kyle Vreeland both of Hewitt, NJ, three brothers, Stanley Brinster of Savannah, GA, Raymond and Steven Brinster of Vernon, NJ, four sisters, Elaine Groves of San Francisco, CA, Bernadette Trainor of West Milford, NJ, Kathleen Vreeland of Vernon, NJ and Theresa Fatula of Milford, PA, also a granddaughter, Amber Rose Tiritilli. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Marion (Burzinski) Brinster. The family will receive friends at the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford on Thursday (7/5) from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Memorial service will be held Friday, July 6, 2007 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Hewitt at 11 AM.

Weaver, Pamela Jean (Davino), 38, of West Milford on Monday, September 10, 2007 at Cancer Treatment of America in Zion, Illinois. Mrs. Weaver was a member of Marshall Hill PTA, a team Mom for son's West Milford Football teams, Greenwood Forest Vol. Fire Co. Ladies Aux. (1990-95). Surviving are her husband William, two sons, William R. and Matthew C. her parents, Nunzio J. and Arlene J. (Peterson) Davino, a sister, Claudia L. Davino all of West Milford. Born in Hackensack, she was a life long resident of West Milford. Visiting at the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral Liturgy Friday, 10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Church, West Milford. Friends meet directly at church. Interment in the church cemetery. Wood, Beatrice L. (Martins), age 57, of West Milford died on Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ. She was the dauthter of Lionel V. and Maria R. (Lacerda) Martins, she has been a resident of West Milford for 20 years moving here from Northvale, NJ. Mrs. Wood was a realtor with the Weichert Realtors of West Milford for 5 years. Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband, Andrew G.; four children, Andrew M., Jason M., Joseph M. and Alexis M. Wood all of West Milford; her mother, Maria R. (Lacerda) Martins; two sisters, Linda L. Martins of Watkins Glen, NY and Rose M. Ciriello of Whitehall, PA. Predeceased by her father, Lionel V. Martins and a brother Louis Martins. Visitation at the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford on Monday (2/19) from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral liturgy on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Hewitt at 9:15 AM. Private cremation to follow.
