He was in the NYC National Guard., Mr. Schechter lived in West Milford, NJ for 1 year and was previously from Sussex County (Wantage and Vernon) for 27 yrs. He is survived by his wife Susan (Bergmann) and Kelly Sue Schechter (Daughter) of West Milford, NJ. He was preceded in death by Michael Vaughn Schechter (Son) in 3/7/2002. He was born August 18, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY the son of Moe and Ida Schechter. Friends may call Richards Funeral Home, West Milford on Wednesday (7/14) from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Memorial services and cremation private. In lieu of flowers donations to American Heart Association, 2550 US Highway 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301 would be appreciated.

Stokem, Linda Ann (Paulison), 66, a retired seamstress for Flair Fashions and Sewing Nook, Pompton Lakes died Thursday, August 19, 2004 at her home in Wanaque, NJ. Mrs. Stokem lived in Wanaque, NJ since 1959 and was previously from Ringwood. She is survived by her husband Harry, Eugene Stokem (Son) of Highland Lakes, NJ, Valerie Belardo (Daughter) of Sparta, NJ, Sandra Lee Stokem (Daughter) of Boonton, NJ, Michael Paulison (Brother) of Ringwood, NJ, Elaine Paulison (Sister) of Bloomingdale, NJ, Catherine (Granddaughter), Frank Patrick (Grandson), Rebecca (Granddaughter). She was born August 26, 2004 in Wayne, NJ the daughter of Oakley and Catherine (McCartney) Paulison. Visitation will be held at Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale, NJ on Sunday (8/22) from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM Private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ovarian Cancer Research, Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Evelyn W. Stevenson, 87, a retired supervisor for NJ Bell Telephone, died Sunday, August 22, 2004 Wayne View Nursing Center, Wayne, New Jersey. Mrs. Stevenson was a member of the Pompton Reformed Church, Pompton Lakes and N.J. Telephone Pioneers of America. She lived in Pompton Plains for 6 years and was previously from Pompton Lakes. She is survived by four cousins, Janet LaBadia, Glenda Wagner, William Jackson, and Carol Pagan. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, and a brother, Edwin Whittle, Jr. She was born November 14, 1916 in Milton, New Jersey the daughter of Edwin and Minnie (Pulis) Whittle. Visitation will be held at Richards Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 26, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Tpk, Riverdale. Rev. Tom Bartha of Pompton Reformed Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Grove cemetery in Totowa.

Sievers, Arthur F., 97, a tool & dye maker for Gries Reproduction, Westchester, NY retiring in 1972, died Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at Milford Manor Nursing Home in West Milford, NJ. He was a member of West Milford Senior citizens. He worked on Norden Bomb Site, NYC during WW II. Mr. Sievers lived in Hewitt, NJ for 61 years and was previously from Bronx, NY, coming to the USA in 1926. He is survived by his wife Wilma (Fischer), Arthur A. Sievers (Son) and his wife Dorothy of Ringwood, N.J., Diane Cunz (Granddaughter), her husband John and Arthur E. Sievers (grandson). He was born January 08, 1907 in Germany, the son of Heinrich and Maria (Schweim) Sievers. All services are private. Arrangements by the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford, NJ.

Smith, William H., 75, a Self-employed tv repairman, died Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at Chilton Hospital in Pequannock. He was a member of the Pompton Plains American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans- Pompton Lakes. Mr. Smith was a lifelong resident of Pompton Plains He is survived by his wife Betty (Hearle), and two daughters, Sandra Gusta of Haskell, and Phyllis Johnson of Kinnelon. Survived by six grandchildren. He was born October 23, 1928 in Paterson, New Jersey the son of Edwin and Minnie (Tears) Smith. He served in the USArmy, from 1952 to 1953. Visitation will be held at Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Tpk., Riverdale on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM Funeral services will be held Friday, September 24, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at Richards Funeral Home. Rev. Tom Larkin of First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains will be officiating. Private cremation.

Stella, Margaret V. (Smith) age 81, of West Milford died on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at The Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ. Born in Queens, NY she moved to West Milford 45 years ago. She was a member of Queen of Peace Rosary Society and served 20 years on the West Milford First Aid Squad. Survived by her husband Vincent and one daughter Lorraine Edwards of Long Valley, NJ, one son Kenneth of Manhattan, NY and one sister Jane Schick of Pittsburgh, PA. Survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Services will be held Friday, September 24 at 10 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, West Milford. Visiting hours on Thursday at the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Queens, NY.

Scheil, Anna M. (Fuller), 94, a retired secretary for Aringdale Pumps, Hoboken, died Friday, October 22, 2004 at Milford Manor Nursing Home in West Milford, NJ. Mrs. Scheil lived in West Milford, NJ for 5 years and was previously from Jersey City. She is survived by Gerry Scheil (Son) of West Milford, NJ, Thomas Scheil (Son) of CA, Ronald Scheil (Son) of VA, 8 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph in 1976, her father, Michael Fuller, and her mother, Hermina (Schwamberger) Fuller. She was born October 20, 1910 in Jersey City, New Jersey the daughter of Michael and Hermina (Schwamberger) Fuller. Friends may call at the Richards Funeral Home, West Milford on Sunday (10/24/2004)from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 25, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Hewitt. Rev. Fr. Fred Walters of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Cross cemetery in North Arlington.

Schweighardt, Andrew F. age 83 on Saturday, October 30, 2004. Born in Passaic, he was a resident of Pompton Lakes for 51 years. A retired electrician, he was employed by Kearfott of Little Falls for 25 years. Mr. Schweighardt was a member of St. Mary’s Seniors and served in World War II in the Army and was member of VFW Post 2906 of Pompton Lakes. He is survived by his wife, the former Ermelinda (Collodel) Schweighardt, 2 sons, Andrew of Washington Township and David of Pompton Lakes, one daughter, Linda Stern of Pompton Lakes, one brother Martin of Albuquerque, NM. Two grandchildren also survive. Mr. Schweighardt was the son of Frank and Hermina (Schweighardt) Schweighardt. Funeral services will be on Monday, November 1, 2004 at 8:30 PM at the Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale. Cremation private. Friends may call on Monday, November 1 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 PM.

Sadd, Margaret Theresa (Snee), age 93, of West Milford died Thursday November 25, 2004 at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital in Wayne, N.J. Born in Ireland, she came to the United States in 1926. She resided in West Milford for the past 51 years and was previously from New York City. She was a homemaker, and a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Hewitt. She is survived by her daughter Lorraine Migdalski of Fairview, N.J; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents John and Mary (Garvey) Snee, and her husband Elmer Oliver Sadd in 1993. A funeral liturgy will be held on Monday, November 29, 2004 at 11:15 A.M. at Our Lady Queen Of Peace Church in Hewitt. Interment will follow at Warwick cemetery in Warwick, NY. Friends and relatives may visit on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Rd. West Milford.

Helen Smith (Howard), 74, a practical nurse died Saturday, November 27, 2004 at St. Josephs Wayne Hospital. Mrs. Smith lived in Paterson, New Jersey. She is survived by her husband Paul, Jackie Smith (Daughter-in-law), Gertrude DeGraw (Niece). She was born March 12, 1930 in Greenville, South Carolina the daughter of Troy and Bertha Howard. Private arrangements by the Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Tpk., Riverdale.

Smith, Edward P., a retired plumber for Marshall Plumbing, Springfield, died Sunday, December 05, 2004 at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pequannock, NJ. Mr. Smith lived in West Milford, NJ since 2004 and was previously from New Providence, NJ and Seminole, FL. He was a WWII Navy Veteran (1942-46) having attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was a former member of the Springfield Fire Dept. of Springfield, NJ. He is survived by his wife Louise R. (Mielke) of Bloomingdale, a son Ronald Smith of Avon Lake, OH and 2 daughters: Judith Preisendanz of West Milford and Ruth Hranj of Marlboro, NJ and 2 grandchildren. Marion Slavick, 86, a homemaker, died Thursday, December 23, 2004 at Bloomingdale Health Care Center in Bloomingdale, New Jersey. Mrs. Slavick lived in Bloomingdale, New Jersey since 1958 and was previously from Pompton Lakes. She is survived by Marianna Solo (Daughter) of Bloomingdale, NJ, Betty Ballard (Sister), Helen Cassidy (Sister), Marie Houghetalling (Sister), Timmy Solo (Grandson) and his wife, Linda of Bloomingdale, NJ. She was preceded in death by her husband William, (1993). She was born April 29, 1918 in Riverdale, New Jersey the daughter of Harry and Martha (Outer) De Graw. Private funeral services where held Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at Richards Funeral Home. Rev. Marjorie Erikson of Bloomingdale Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in North Church cemetery in North Hardyston.
