BETTY PEDERSEN, 76, of West Long Branch died July 21 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Red Bank, she resided in West Long Branch since 1956. She was the owner and operator of The Corral, West Long Branch. She was a member of Old First United Methodist Church, West Long Branch. Her activities included membership in the Senior Citizens Club, West Long Branch; the National Association of Retired Federal Employees; and the American Association of Retired Persons. She was predeceased by her husband, John A. Pedersen, in 1989. She is survived by three daughters, Tammy Jelling of Howell, Terry Frazier of West Long Branch, and Trudy Kinsey of Oceanport; her brother, Donald Mac Cloud of Red Bank; four sisters, Nancy Citarella of Middletown, Virginia Scialla of West Long Branch, Arlene Shaw of Eatontown, and Evelyn Fountain of Lakewood; and six grandchildren. A funeral service was at Old First United Methodist Church, West Long Branch, followed by interment at Monmouth Memorial Park Cemetery, Tinton Falls. JOSEPH J. "JOE" McFADDEN, 91, of Red Bank died July 10 at home. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Red Bank since 1955. He was employed by Bond Buyer, N.Y., and retired in 1981. Prior to that, he was acting postmaster in Red Bank for four years, and worked for M.W. Kellogg Co., Jersey City, for 23 years. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He was a member and past president of the Red Bank Democratic Club, as well as the Kiwanis Club of Red Bank. His hobbies included woodworking and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances R. Burns McFadden of Red Bank; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian J. and Molly McFadden of Midland, Mich.; four daughters and one son-in-law, Ellen McFadden of Monrovia, Calif., Regina McFadden of Red Bank, and Sheila Mulligan of Sierra Madre, Calif., and Mary and Marcelo McFadden-Rossetto of Toluca Lake, Calif.; six grandchildren; four great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. JOHN E. LEMON JR., 67, of Tinton Falls, died July 15 at Tinton Falls Convalescent Center. Born in South Amboy, he was a lifelong Tinton Falls resident. He was a funeral director for Anderson Funeral Home, Red Bank, and Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Red Bank. A former mayor of Tinton Falls, he was elected to the first of three terms at age 28, and also served as a councilman and police commissioner. He was a charter member and former captain of the Tinton Falls First Aid Squad, an exempt member and former treasurer of Tinton Falls Fire Company No. 1, and past president of the Monmouth County Municipal Association and the New Jersey Conference of Mayors. He was the recipient of the distinguished service award from the Greater Red Bank Jaycees, and appeared in both Outstanding Young Men of America (1965) and Who’s Who in America (1968). He was also a former secretary of the Monmouth County Park System. He is survived by his brother, William Lemon, Rutherfordton, N.C. Burial

MILDRED C. KINKLE, 88, of Red Bank, died July 19 at home. Born in Flushing, N.Y., she lived in Camden prior to moving to Red Bank in 1992. She was a retired factory worker for The John R. Evans Leather Works, Camden, for several years. She was a volunteer at Riverview Medical Center and its thrift shop, both in Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis W.F. Kinkle, and a son, Joseph Termini. She is survived by three sons, Lewis Kinkle of Sewell, William Kinkle of Pennsauken, and Julius Kinkle of Fort Myers, Fla.; three daughters, Frances Kinkle of Red Bank, with whom she lived, Priscilla Powers of Avalon, and Miame Hubler of Biloxi, Miss.; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. JOSEPH F. REILLY, 84, of Red Bank died July 21 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Queens, N.Y., he previously lived in Flushing, N.Y., and Satellite, Fla., and moved to Red Bank three years ago. He was an English teacher for Archbishop Malloy High School, Queens, for 10 years before retiring in 1972. Prior to that, he was a New York City firefighter for 20 years, before retiring in 1962. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and attained the rank of lieutenant. His hobbies included golf and reading. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Rose Reilly in 1996 and Kay Morris in 1998. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Masterson Reilly of Red Bank; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Larry J. and Mary Ann Reilly of Middletown, and Frank M. Reilly of Warwick, N.Y.; and three granddaughters. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
MARSHALL W. COLE, 76, of Long Branch died June 27 in Brick after injuries he and his wife sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Franklin, N.Y., he lived in Imler, Pa., prior to moving to Long Branch in 1947. He was a self-employed builder prior to retirement. Before that, he worked in the Long Branch post office. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2140, Long Branch, as well as American Legion Post No. 113, Bedford, Pa. He was predeceased by his son, Marshall W. Cole Jr., in 1964. He is survived by three sons, Paul R. Cole, of West Long Branch, Richard E. Cole of Alum Bank, Pa., and Larry D. Cole of Osterburg, Pa.; two daughters, Virginia Beach of Long Branch, and Dorothy Hecker of Spring Hill, Fla.; his brother, James Burkett of Long Branch; four sisters, Barbara Welle of Long Branch, Carol Voleck and Grace Gentilé, both of Florida, and Delores Harp of New Mexico; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. DOROTHY M. COLE, 73, of Long Branch died June 27, along with her husband, in Brick after injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong resident. Prior to retirement, she was employed by the Homestead Pharmacy, Long Branch. She was a communicant of Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She was a member of the Auxiliary of Long Branch Lodge No. 742, Benevolent Protective Order of Elks. She was predeceased by her son, Marshall W. Cole Jr., in 1964. She is survived by three sons, Paul R. Cole of West Long Branch, Richard E. Cole of Alum Bank, Pa., and Larry D. Cole, of Osterburg, Pa.; two daughters, Virginia Beach of Long Branch, and Dorothy Hecker of Spring Hill, Fla.; three brothers, Daniel Carroll of Bound Brook, William Carroll of Toms River, and John Carroll of South Carolina; four sisters, Anna Reynolds of Lee Hall, Va., Jean Taboada of Brick, Joan Warren of Oceanport, and Margie Courtney of West Long Branch; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. CHARLOTTE J. FURCE GIANNANDREA, 81, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died July 14 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Her husband, Vito, died in 1991. Surviving are a daughter, Beverly Gotti of Parlin; a son, Kenneth Von Oesen of Red Bank; a sister, Eleanor Bellack of San Jose, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A Mass is planned for July 19 at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment

MAUREEN A. HUDSON, 55, of Howell died June 11 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Mrs. Hudson was born in Bridgeton, and had lived in Shrewsbury before moving to Howell twenty years ago. Mrs. Hudson was a graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School class of 1963. Prior to that she graduated from St. James Grammar School, Red Bank. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mrs. Hudson was an administrative assistant at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Farmingdale, for the past three years. She was also a volunteer with the church’s building campaign and a Confirmation of Christian Doctrine (CCD) teacher’s aide. Prior to this, Mrs. Hudson was an operations clerk at Bell Atlantic, Motor Vehicle Department, Freehold, for 29 years before retiring in 1992. Mrs. Hudson was a volunteer at the Monmouth County SPCA, Eatontown. She was involved with taking dogs to nursing homes for the Pet Therapy Program. Surviving are her husband, Michael Hudson, of Howell; her mother, Catherine Attridge of Shrewsbury; four brothers, Brian E. Attridge of Oakhurst section of the Ocean Township, Kevin W. Attridge of Red Bank, John R. Attridge of Shrewsbury, and Richard P. Attridge of Point Pleasant Borough; and six nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Catherine of Siena, Farmingdale. Interment

LORETTA REAGAN GALAZIN, 42, of Seaside Heights, died July 1 in Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood, after a long illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Galazin; and five brothers and a sister. Surviving are a son, Thomas Jr., and two daughters, Tamara and Suzanne, all of Seaside Heights; a brother, Thomas Reagan; and eight sisters, Mildred Ferriera of Kearny, Fran Pfluger of Tinton Falls, Rose Haworth of Lanoka Harbor, Helen DaCruz of Plainsboro, Suzanne Taskowitz of Tslamoranda, Fla., Patricia Reed of Spotswood, Theresa Raimondi of Jackson, and Kathy Aikens of Old Bridge.
