May L. Sironen (nee Hansen), 98, of Burlington Twp., NJ formerly of Bergenfield, NJ. She was born in New York City. She moved to the Masonic Home 5 years ago. Before retiring she was employed by The American Social Health Association, NYC. She was a member of the Bergenfield Mayor’s Council for several years, St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Tilden Chapter # 59 O.E.S both of Bergenfield. Predeceased by her husband Frank and a daughter-in-law Patricia Sironen she is survived by her children Row W. and Barbara Sironen and Robert Sironen, 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. There was a funeral service on Saturday, Feb 4th at Riewerts Memorial Home Inc. Bergenfield, NJ. Interment

Osorno – Josephine (nee Roth), age 87, was called home to be reunited with her beloved husband, Frank, just one day shy of their wedding anniversary. She died peacefully on February 10, 2006 under the loving care of her two devoted daughters, Joanne Manning and Arlene DeSocio. She is also survived by her sons-in-law, Frank Manning and Tom DeSocio, with whom she loved to share a laugh and engage in avid discussions about the N.Y. Mets. While we cope with the idea of life without our beloved Gram, we take comfort in the joy she must feel rejoining her infant daughter, Dorothy, who left her so long ago.
Gram lovingly nurtured and enriched the lives of her cherished grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Tracy and Ed Keeney, Frank and Krissy Manning, Wendy and Billy Bajakian, Michelle and Chris Johnson, Mike and Kerrie DeSocio, Kevin and Sherry Manning, Kim DeSocio, Eleanor and Alan Hepburn and Tom and April DeSocio.
She was delighted to have had the chance to dote on her treasured great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren: Emily and Will Keeney, Frank, Kassidy, Karly and Kelty Josephine Manning, Nicholas and Tyler Bajakian, Christopher and Caitlyn Johnson, Mikey and Matthew DeSocio, Mark and Peter DiGennaro and Jaime and David Hepburn.
Her early roots began in Englewood, and then Dumont, where she and Frank raised their daughters. Never one to sit idly by, Gram jumped into the workforce and became an assistant at Scholastic Books, in Englewood Cliffs. She later retired and moved to Forked River, where she was a parishioner at Saint Pius X. She was an active member of the Women’s Club and donated her time to the parish Thrift Shop. Gram’s hobbies included making brilliant stained glass pieces, which she shared with us. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending her garden and cultivating towering sunflowers and fragrant roses. She and Pop-Pop spent many hours taking us fishing and crabbing on Pop-Pop’s boat and treating us to trips to the boardwalk. Gram also loved to cook for her family, and she shaped the image of “the family dinner” that we all try to emulate to this day. (Jello anyone??)
Gram was a strong, faithful and generous woman. Her legacy of wisdom, patience and optimism truly inspire all who have loved her. Her family simply adored her, and we have all lived a richer life knowing this incomparable woman. May the Lord welcome her home and grant her eternal peace.

Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly, NJ. The family will receive friends on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hospice would be appreciated.

Zitelli - Joan T., (nee Gratzer), of Oak Ridge, NJ formerly of Bergenfield, NJ on April 25, 2006. Beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Zitelli. Cherished mother of Joseph and his wife Andrea, Anne-Marie Bottazzi and her husband Joe, Thomas and his wife Maria Victoria, Mary Beth Lapszynski and her husband John, and James and his wife Stephanie. She relished her role as grandmother to twelve adored grandchildren: Kate Zitelli, Lauren, Courtney and Joseph Timothy Bottazzi, Thomas and Joseph Zitelli, Brooke, Samantha and John Paul Lapszynski and Christian, James and Alexandra Zitelli. She was the devoted sister of Frank Gratzer, Anne Helmstetter and Eileen Gratzer. She was predeceased by her two dear sisters, Constance Gratzer and Patricia Wickers. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. A parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Bergenfield for over 40 years, Joan's love of God, family, and friends was the greatest source of joy in her life and she was a great source of joy in the lives of those who knew her.
