Donald G. Morgenroth
Point Pleasant Beach resident Donald G. Morgenroth died Sunday, Aug. 3 in Shorrock Gardens Care Center, in Brick.
He was 74 years old.
He was born in Newark, he lived in Essex Fells for 25 years. In 1965 he moved to Livingston where he resided for 30 years before moving to Point Pleasant Beach 12 years ago.
He graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Caldwell in 1952 and from Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia in 1963.
Don worked at Western Electric Company in Newark as an electrical engineer and retired 32 years later from AT&T in 1990 as a management employee. He will be remembered by many loving family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, George and Helen Morgenroth.
He is survived by his wife, Irene F. Reilly Morgenroth; two sons, Donald G. Morgenroth Jr. and his wife, Loraine, of Cedar Knolls and Andrew Morgenroth, of Livingston. A daughter, Arlene Leffler and her husband, Chris, of Livingston; his brother, Robert and his wife, Ruth Ann, of Strousberg, Pa; four grandchildren, Megan and Caitlyn Leffler and Hunter and Dylan Morgenroth.
The Van Hise and Callagan Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, Beach, was in charge of arrangements.

Jean R. Yanalavage Petracca
Point Pleasant resident Jean R. Yanalavage Petracca died Monday, Aug. 4, in Meridian Hospice, Brick.
He was 93 years old.
Born in Mahanoy City, Pa., she lived in Elizabeth before moving to Point Pleasant in 1959.
She was an operator for Air Cruisers, Belmar, retiring in 1972. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Bay Head.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Petracca, in December 1986.
Surviving are a sister, Theresa Cebula, of Edgewater, Fla.; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Sophie Petracco; and many nieces and nephews.
The Colonial Funeral Home, Brick, was in charge of arrangements. Entombment took place at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Wall.
Franklin Cardinale
Manasquan resident Franklin Cardinale, whose son and daughter-in-law reside in Point Pleasant, died on Wednesday, July 30 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 74 years old.
Mr. Cardinale was born in Newark and raised in Bloomfield before moving to the Shore area.
Mr. Cardinale was a longtime resident of Spring Lake before moving to Manasquan.
He graduated from Seton Hall with a bachelor of science degree.
Mr. Cardinale was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a Fuller Brush salesman before becoming an insurance agent for Allstate, retiring after 30 years.
Mr. Cardinale was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a volunteer fireman of Spring Lake Heights. He also was an umpire for Spring Lake Heights Little League, and a referee for Spring Lake Heights soccer program.
Upon his retirement, Mr. Cardinale ventured into owning several trotter race horses, which he enjoyed thoroughly.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Dolores Cardinal, in 1966.
He is survived by three sons, Bill Cardinal, of Shark River Hills, John Cardinal and his wife, Viola, of Point Pleasant, and Chris Cardinal, of Hoboken; two daughters, Cheryl Bois and her husband, Scott, of New York City, and Gayle Cardinal, of North Brunswick; a brother, Bill Cardinale, of Calif.; a granddaughter, Katherine; also his former wives, Ann Cardinal, of Brielle and Arlene Cardinal, of Toms River; and nieces, nephews and many cousins.
Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan, was in charge of the arrangements. Entombment was held at St. Catharine’s Mausoleum, Wall.

Ruth Elizabeth Boyle Kinghorn Andrews
Point Pleasant resident Ruth Elizabeth Boyle Kinghorn Andrews died on Friday, Aug. 1, in Sunnyside Manor Nursing Home, Wall.
Mrs. Andrews dedicated her life to raising five children. She was a driving force for her family to move from Rutherford, in 1963 to Point Pleasant, to build a better life for her children on “the shore.”
With her husband Ed, they purchased a new business and chose a home on Beaver Dam Creek to raise their young family, which included two sets of twins, ages 13 and 2.
Her five children were the beneficiaries of their mother’s constant dedication, vigilance, love and hard work. They were inspired by her resourcefulness, and balancing the roles of being a loving wife, business manager, and dedicated mother. Mom provided a loving home, and always put her children’s needs before her own. Her commitment to family, unconditional love, ability to provide and be supportive in quiet confidence is attributed that her children pay tribute in her memory for always. Rest in Peace Mom… in God’s ever lasting love… you earned and deserve it.
She was predeceased by her parents, Harriet Moore and James Turner Boyle, and a daughter, Kathy Lee. She was also predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Edward James Kinghorn, whom she married
on Nov. 28, 1946; and her second husband, George Andrews.
She is survived by three sons, James Kinghorn and his wife, Jacqueline, of Brielle, Edward “Ted” James Kinghorn Jr. and his wife, Anne, of McLean, Va., and Duane Kinghorn and his wife, Eileen, of Howell; two daughters, Jo Eckert and her husband, Glenn, of Point Pleasant, Dawn Kinghorn and Linda Basler of East Windsor; her grandchildren, Brian Eckert and his wife, Jillian, Beth Frantz and her husband, Jeff, Scott Kinghorn, Lauren Kinghorn, Allison Kinghorn, Paige Kinghorn, Ryan Kinghorn, Drew Kinghorn and Matthew Kinghorn; great-grandchildren, Alex and Chase Eckert; her stepchildren and their families, Ric, Ingrid, Patrick and Nels Andrews, of California, Jeffrey, Sandy, Ben and Lauren Andrews, of North Carolina, Kim, Marshall, Lindsay and Connor Page, of Louisiana, Deb, Daniel, MaryAlice and Paddy Warren, of North Carolina.

Domenick Vincent Nardone
Port Saint Lucie, Fla. resident Domenick Vincent Nardone, whose son and daughter-in-law lived in Point Pleasant Beach, died on July 31 in the Saint Lucie Medical Center.
He was 80 years old.
Born in Newark, to the late Enrico and Mary Vezza Nardone, he had lived in Nutley and Barnegat prior to moving to Port Saint Lucie in 2000.
A retired aeronautical electrical engineer, Mr. Nardone was a United States Army, Korean War-era veteran. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
He also was a Eucharistic Minister and former communicant of St. Mary’s Parish.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Pete, John and Anthony Nardone; and his sisters, Rose Guiliano and Edith Nardone.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Rose Juliano Nardone; his daughter, Deborah Ann Mobilio and her husband, George, of Robbinsville; his son, Domenick Nardone and his wife, Gloria, of New Providence and Point Pleasant Beach; five grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Cuomo of Boca Raton, Fla. and Gilda Nardone and her husband, Nicholas, of West Orange.
The Pable-Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, was in charge of arrangements. Entombment took place at St. Mary Parish Cemetery, Manahawkin.

Elizabeth A. Brennan
Brick Township resident Elizabeth A. Brennan [nee Daniele], whose son and daughter-in-law live in Bay Head, died Tuesday, July 29 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
She was 65 years old.
Betty Brennan was born in Summit and lived there until moving to Brick 30 years ago.
She was the beloved wife of Robert Brennan of Brick; loving mother of Petty Officer Sean Brennan, U.S. Navy, currently stationed in Kuwait, and his wife Jessica Neff Brennan, of Bay Head and Olney, Md.; sister of Ben Daniele, of Sarasota, Fla.; and devoted grandmother of Aiden Robert Brennan, age 2 and one-half.
A memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date.

Lucille C. Rietheimer
Point Pleasant resident Lucille C. Rietheimer died Thursday, July 31 in her home.
She was 90 years old.
Born in Paterson, she was raised and lived in North Jersey until moving to Seaside Heights in 1971 and then to Point Pleasant in 2006.
She was a member of Moose Lodge Chapter No. 1248 of Ortley Beach and a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Seaside Park.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 1999; her daughter, Patricia, and her sister, Jeanne Tumminello.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Linda, of Point Pleasant; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lucille and Kevin McGrath, of Southern Shores, N.C., and Roberta Andrade, of West Sunbury, Pa. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The Carmona-Bolen Home For Funerals, Toms River, was in charge of arrangements. Burial
took place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.

Bertha Z. Schwartz
Brick resident Bertha Z. Schwartz, whose son and daughter-in-law live in Point Pleasant, died on Sunday, Aug, 3 in the Reflections at the Gables, Brick.
She was 97 years old.
Born in Russia, Bertie had lived in Brooklyn prior to moving to Brick eight years ago.
Mrs. Schwartz had been a kindergarten teacher and assistant principal, employed in New York City.
She was [predeceased by her husband, James.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Peter Schwartz and his wife, Judy, of Point Pleasant; her daughter, Jill Hanig and her husband, Joseph, of Alexandria, Va.; her grandchildren, Rachel, Eric, Deborah, and Gregory; her step grandchildren, Chip Gahr and Debbie Gahr; and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Griffin and Paige.
