H. Sheila Logan Ennis
Avon resident H. Sheila Logan Ennis died on March 17 at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Tarrytown, N.Y., she lived in Glen Ridge before moving to Avon in 1973.
Mrs. Ennis was a graduate of Marymount College in Tarrytown, N.Y. and taught social studies and history at St. Rose High School, in Belmar, for many years.
She was a member and communicant at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Avon.
Surviving are her husband, Robert; four daughters, Norah Magrini and her husband, John, of Avon, Meghan Page and her husband, Keith, of Seven Oaks, England, Clare Murphy and her husband, Michael, of Florham Park, and Helen Ennis, of Hoboken; one brother, Henry Logan, of Riverdale; one sister, Betty Ann Gallagher, of Sea Girt; and nine grandchildren, Emily and Brendan Magrini, Michael, Caroline and Elizabeth Page, and Colette, Bridget, Michael Jr. and Hailey Murphy.
Interment was held at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Wall.

Christine Shupin
Wall Township resident Christine A. Orenchuk Shupin, whose artwork, family portraits and photography fills the homes of so many, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, March 11, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was 52 years old.
In a life dedicated to art and family, Christine founded the Kid’s Art Studio and Kid’s Art Ventures, inspiring an entire generation of children through art for the past 20 years.
Born in Hartford, Conn., Christine attended the Art Institute of Boston, graduating as the valedictorian of her class in 1976. Working in advertising, Christine became vice president of Graphic Design for Myriad Co. and Bachelor Advertising.
In 1978, Christine married
her high-school sweetheart, Tony. In a marriage that only grew stronger over the years, Christine and Tony would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in June.
Christine moved to the Wall Township and Sea Girt area in 1983, becoming a beloved member of the community. For many years, Christine taught art classes at St. Catharine’s School and created the poster for St. Catharine’s Church annual Candlelight Ball. She gave so much to so many.
After retiring from Kid’s Art Studio, Christine founded Candid Photography. Using her incredible talent for capturing the joy of children and families, Christine became well known for her beautiful beach portraits taken at Sea Girt Beach, just down the street from her home. Her memory lives on through her artwork and photography that graces the homes of all those she worked with throughout her lifetime. Everywhere she went, Christine sowed seeds of beauty. She lived to share the light and joy that she saw everything around her through her art. Christine enjoyed gardening and growing the flowers that inspired so many of her paintings. Ever since the birth of her first son, Christine designed a family Christmas card that so many have enjoyed for the past 24 years.
She is irreplaceable; as a wife who embodied absolute dedication, a mother who demonstrated unconditional love to her sons, and a friend who gave herself selflessly to all those around her.
Christine joins her mother and father, Theresa Czarnecki and Peter Orenchuk, in heaven.
She is survived by her loving husband, Tony, and her two incredible sons, Mickey and Eric. She also leaves her brother Peter, Michael and his wife Mary Ann, Erich and Mark, as well as her much loved nieces and nephews, Matthew, Bryan, Amy and Alec Orenchuk, and Chris, Alex and Cassy Martino, and Michael and Nicholas Shupin, and her grieving “in-laws.”
Entombment was held at St. Catharine's Cemetery, Wall.

George Gensch Jr.
Avon resident George Edwin “Eddie” Gensch Jr., formerly of Teaneck, died March 11 surrounded by the love of his family and his faith.
He was 86 years old.
Before retiring in 1990, he worked for BES Corporation, of Emerson. Prior to that, he was employed by Huffman and Koos, in New Jersey, and Sterns, in New York.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy’s Pacific theater of WW II, where he served as a pharmacist’s mate on the U.S.S. McDermott. He was formerly a parishioner of St. Anastasia, Teaneck, and currently an active parishioner of St. Elizabeth of Avon.
He was predeceased by his parents, George Edwin Gensch Sr. and Clara Bastian-McCartney, and step-father, James McCartney; beloved children, Judith and James; and granddaughter, Lauren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Dolores Musante Gensch, cherished daughter, Jerilyn Horn, grandson, Jason Horn, great granddaughter, Madison Horn, half sisters, Jackie McCartney and Shirley Huber and numerous step children and step grandchildren.

Laraine Ann Gethard
Sea Girt resident Laraine Ann Gethard passed away on Thursday, March 6, at home with her family by her side.
She was 69 years old.
Laraine was a realtor for Diane Turton Realtors for many years and had achieved top sale award many times.
She was a member of the Bayberry Garden Club of Brielle for over 30 years. Laraine was a top floral designer and thoroughly enjoyed sharing her expertise of flower arranging with everyone.
She was born in Perth Amboy and grew up in Woodbridge, and eventually moved to Sea Girt.
Laraine’s family would especially like to thank Dr. Susan Greenberg and her wonderful staff for all the caring treatment that Laraine received over the years. Laraine’s family would also like to thank VITAS Innovative Hospice Care for their care and compassion.
Laraine is survived by her husband of 47 years, Les Gethard, of Sea Girt; a son, Scott, of Brielle; a daughter, Nancy Zangrando and her husband, Mark, of Spring Lake Heights; and three grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew and Lindsey Zangrando. Laraine is also survived by a brother, Ronald Ostrowski, of Delaware and a brother-in-law, Robert Gethard, of Seaside Park.

Kathleen Byrne Peck
Belmar resident Kathleen Byrne Peck passed away on Sunday, March 9, in South Carolina with her family by her side.
She was 61 years old.
Kathy worked for Sears, of Freehold and Ocean in various departments for 32 years, retiring as a department manager.
Kathy was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and raised in Wall. She was very active with St. Rose Church.
Kathy dedicated many hours of her time teaching CCD and also, with “Aid for Friends, ” which delivered meals to families. Kathy enjoyed to cook and was an avid golfer.
Kathy was predeceased by a sister, Sharon Byrne, in 2007.
She is survived by her favorite brother, Joseph J. Byrne Jr. and his wife, Joanne, of Anderson, S.C.; a sister, Kelly Byrne, of Virginia Beach, Va.; and a longtime friend and caretaker, Ruth Weil, of Belmar. Kathy is also survived by two nephews and three nieces, Kim Campbell and her husband, Chris, Jamie Byrne and his wife, Scarlett, Elizabeth Voss and her husband, Jamie, and Kathleen Byrne and Trevor Byrne-Smith; and one great nephew and three great nieces, Andrew Joseph, Delaney, Hayley and Kayden.
Interment was held at St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall.

Corrado Bellapianta
Wall resident Corrado “Dino” Bellapianta died on March 13 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 61 years old.
Born in Italy, he came to the United States in 1970, residing in Wallington and Carlstadt before moving to Wall 24 years ago.
Mr. Bellapianta was the proprietor of Sodano’s Pizzeria, in Wall, during the 1980s and Dino’s Pizzeria, in Bradley Beach, in the 1990s.
Surviving is his devoted wife, Rose Cariati Bellapianta, and his loving son, Andrew, of Wall; his beloved sisters and brothers, Chiara Sciancalepora and her husband, Gennaro, Pina Bellapianta, Mina Bellapianta, Michele Bellapianta and Pietro Bellapianta; his 13 nephews, 10 nieces and his dog, Duke.
Interment was held at St. Anne’s cemetery Allenwood Road, Wall.

Richard Burns Lansing
Point Pleasant resident Richard Burns Lansing, also of Stuart, Fla., died Friday, March 7, in Care One, Wall, after a long illness.
He was 74 years old.
Mr. Lansing was the athletic director at Point Pleasant Borough High School from 1965 to 1986 and retired in 1988. In addition, he served as president for one year of the Shore Conference and was also a past president of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association.
From an early age, Mr. Lansing’s life revolved around athletics. A 1951 graduate of Point Pleasant Beach High School, he earned six varsity letters, playing football, basketball and baseball. He was a back on the Garnet Gulls’ football teams that won Central Jersey Group 1 championships in both 1949 and 1950. Following high school, he played semipro football for the Asbury Park Yellow Jackets, which went unbeaten in 1951.
Mr. Lansing then served three years in the Marine Corps during the Korean War, attaining the rank of sergeant. He engaged in active combat duty for 14 months in Korea. During his service in the Marines, he played for the Camp LeJeune football team that won the divisional championship in 1952 with a 9-0 record.
After his honorable discharge from the Marines, Mr. Lansing attended Trenton State College and graduated in 1960 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. Later, he also earned a master’s degree in educational supervision from Georgian Court College, Lakewood.
In 1957, he played guard on Trenton State’s varsity basketball team and played varsity soccer as well. He also played middle linebacker for the Trenton State varsity football team in 1958 and 1959, helping the team post a record of 8-1 in 1958. In 1959, the team won the NAIA District 31 Championship.
Mr. Lansing began his teaching career at Caldwell High School in 1960, where he taught physical education and coached junior varsity basketball and was head freshman football coach. He spent the next two years at Hightstown High School, where his junior varsity soccer team posted a two-year mark of 15-1-2. He also became the school’s first gymnastics coach.
In 1965, he returned to Point Pleasant to become Point Borough’s second athletic director. During his tenure there, he led the organization through extensive growth of the school system’s physical education and sports programs and resources, including the introduction of organized team sports at the middle school.
He was an extremely skilled and accomplished woodworker who also enjoyed reading, golfing, and fishing in his spare time.
He was predeceased by parents, Lionel and Jessie; and his brothers, Lionel Jr. and Robert.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Eileen Holmes Lansing; a sister, Joan Mikucki, of Cherry Hill, and brother-in-law, Edward; brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Rise Holmes and Robert and Nancy Holmes; a son, Scott G. Lansing, of Gaithersburg, Md., and his wife, Meglyn, and children, Michael, Kevin and Kathleen; a son, Richard L. Lansing, of Montclair, his wife Deborah, and children, Rachael and Miles; a daughter, Michelle E. Lansing, of Hoboken; and several loving nieces and nephews.
