George W. Conte
Point Pleasant resident George W. Conte died Thursday, March 6 in Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
He was 78 years old.
He was born in Passaic and lived in Clifton for 40 years until he moved to Point Pleasant in 1992 and happily spent his last three years of his life at Sunnyside Manor in Wall.
He was a Certified Public Accountant for many years.
Mr. Conte was in the Army Division of the Korean War, where he was awarded a Bronze Star for Valor.
He was a communicant of St. Martha’s Church in Point Pleasant.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn, in 2006 and by his sister, Mary DiSalvo, also in 2006.
He is survived by two sons, George Conte Jr., of Manasquan, and Richard Conte and his wife, Dinorah Conte, of Robbinsville; a daughter, Patricia Conte, Greensboro, N.C., a brother; Charles Conte, and two grandchildren, Chelsea and Nicholas.
Those wishing to send flowers, the family requests that plants and vases be sent. To make a donation in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Ocean Medical Center, Brick, in his name would be appreciated.
Helen Lakatos Keller
Point Pleasant resident Helen Lakatos Keller died on Sunday, March 9 at the Burnt Tavern Rehabilitation Center, Brick.
She was 91 years old.
Born in Woodbridge, she was formerly of South Amboy, residing in Point Pleasant for 22 years.
Mrs. Keller had worked as a professional seamstress and also as a nursing aide at South Amboy Hospital.
A devoted member of the First Baptist Church, Point Pleasant Beach, she had served as a deaconess and was a very active member.
A beloved wife and loving mother, she was predeceased by her husband, William.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Marie Keller, of Waldwick, John and Janet Keller, of Maine, and Michael and Ruth Keller, of Spotswood; and two daughters, Caroline Keller, of Point Pleasant, and Barbara Schnuck, of Matawan. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Lakatos; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and by many dear friends.
Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the First Baptist Church, River and McLean avenues, Point Pleasant Beach, were a service to celebrate her life will be begin at 10 a.m. Interment
will follow at Old Tennent Church Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

John Forsyth
Point Pleasant resident John Forsyth died Monday, March 3, at the VA Hospital in East Orange.
He was 60 years old.
Born in Newark, Mr. Forsyth lived in Glen Ridge before moving to Point Pleasant.
He was a former postman for the U.S. Post Office, a former employee of the Spring Lake Country Club in Spring Lake, and had been employed by the Bay Head Improvement Association in Bay Head since 2002.
A United States Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam era, Mr. Forsyth was a volunteer at the VA Hospital in East Orange. He was an avid biker, enjoyed golf and had a great love for sitting on his bench on Howe Street in Bay Head.
He was the son of the late John L. and Bernice Bracken Forsyth.
Mr. Forsyth is survived by a sister, Andrea Holly Karch and her husband, Terry; and two nephews, John and Eric Karch.
Services are private and under the direction of the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton.

Raymond W. Graefe
Point Pleasant resident Raymond W. Graefe died Thursday, March 6, 2008 in his home.
He was 82 years old.
Born in Philadelphia, he had lived in Lakewood, residing in Point Pleasant for 25years.
Mr. Graefe proudly served his country in the Army during World War II in both Normandy and the in Philippines Liberation. He was awarded five Bronze Stars for his service.
A retired newspaper pressman, he had worked for the Lakewood Daily Times and the Asbury Park Press.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Dawn Marie Conroy, and by his granddaughter, Jessica A. Conroy.
He is survived by his wife, of 60 years, Dawn Choha Graefe; his grandson, Owen T. Conroy; and by his son-in-law, Thomas J. Conroy.
A private cremation was arranged by The Pable-Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant.
Agnes Keim
Neptune resident Agnes E. Murphy Keim, whose son lives in Point Pleasant, died on Saturday, March 8 in Tower Lodge Care Center of Wall Township.
She was 83 years old.
Born in Keyport, Mrs. Keim remained a lifelong resident of the Shore area. She was employed with Bendix of Eatontown in the tube department from 1953 until 1963.
Mrs. Keim was predeceased by her parents, Frank Murphy and Elizabeth Ludvigsen Murphy.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, David H. Keim, of Neptune; her loving children, Douglas David Keim, of Point Pleasant, Michael Murphy Keim and his wife, Ria, of Wall, and Patricia Elizabeth Montgomery, of the Wanamassa section of Ocean Township; a brother, Frank Murphy, of Bradley Beach; and her twin sister, Winifred Van Brunt, of Toms River. Also surviving are her three very special grandchildren, Mike, Kelly and Shannon.
Entombment was held at Monmouth Memorial Park, Route 33, Tinton Falls.

Vilma Mary Giananti Iovino
Point Pleasant resident Vilma Mary Giananti Iovino died Monday, March 3 in the Claremont Care Center two days prior to her 99th birthday
She was 98 years old.
Born in Queens, to the late Andrew and Elvira Ugolino Giananti, she had lived in Woodbridge and in Newark, coming to Point Pleasant in 1947, retiring to Florida in 1971, and returning to Point Pleasant 19 years ago.
She was a member of the Senior Beehive at St. Martha Roman Catholic Church in Point Pleasant and had worked as a punch press operator for American Mica, Manasquan.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Carlo.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Nicholas and Claudia Iovino, of Boca Raton, Fla., and Carlo Jr. and Mary Lou Iovino, of Point Pleasant; and her daughter and son-in-law, Olympia and Larry Bush, of Scottsdale, Ariz. She is also survived by her sister, Reina Menchey; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Iovino Newman, Jeffery Iovino, Jonathan Iovino, Lisa Iovino Nevolo, Sandra Iovino, Brenda Iovino Hartley, Gerald Bush and James Bush; and seven great-grandchildren, Emily, Nicholas, Skyler, Patrick, Craig Jr., Taylor and Morgan.

Sean Michael Leary
Point Pleasant resident Sean Michael Leary, formally of Milltown, died suddenly on Friday March 7, while skiing at Windham, N.Y.
He was 50 years old.
Sean was the senior resident engineer in construction management for the Ocean County Utilities Authority. Also for many years he was the race announcer for Harley Drag Racing at Raceway Park in Old Bridge and many other race tracks throughout the country.
Sean was an active member of his community, serving as a republican councilman for many years for the Borough of Milltown. While on council between 1997 and 2000, Sean lead the council’s work on budgeting, road projects and communications while he was the chairman of the public safety committee. He also had served as the Milltown Council President.
Sean loved life, his family and friends. He was proud to be an Eagle Scout. Sean will be remembered as a great dad and a wonderful person who lived life to the fullest. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his father, William P. Leary; and his brothers, William and Peter Leary.
He is survived by two precious daughters, Kaitlyn Olivia and Catie Jane Leary, of Freehold; his mother, Carole Leary, of Hardy, Va; a sister, Erin Stephens, of Bointon Beach, Fla.; sister and brother-in-law, Maryann and Keith Leclaire, of Rocky Mount, Va; brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Jaqueline Leary, of Hardy, Va., Patrick and Angie Leary, of Glade Hill, Va. and Dennis and Britta Leary, of Moneta, Va.; three nieces, Kelly Stephens, Sarah Leclaire and Kelsey Leary; and three nephews, Patrick Stephens, William and Kevin Leary.
The Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home, Milltown, handled the arrangements. Final disposition was private.
