ANDREW JOSEPH BRUDER, 79, of Guttenberg and formerly Rumson, died Feb. 16 at his daughter’s home on Martha’s Vineyard, Mass. He was born in Jersey City. He was an assistant director of career planning and placement at Jersey City State College, retiring in 2000. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Asian-Pacific campaign during World War II. He was predeceased by his son, A.J. Bruder. He is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, M.J. and Paul Munafo of Martha’s Vineyard, Elizabeth and Kenneth Frydman of New York City, Susannah Bruder of San Francisco, and Isabelle and Thomas Smith of Colchester, Conn.; his former wife, Florence Smith Bruder of Fair Haven; two brothers, retired Col. Joseph A. Bruder, U.S.M.C., and John P. Bruder; three sisters, Helen Welter, Camilla Fenton and Margery Jocham; one grandson; one step-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
BENEDICT A. GROSSI, 69, of the River Plaza section of Middletown died Feb. 16 at home. Born in Newark, he lived in Red Bank before moving to River Plaza. He was a consultant for DuPont, Newark, Del. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a volunteer fireman for River Plaza Hose Company No. 1. He was predeceased by his wife, Anne Pisciotta Grossi. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Debra Grossi of Lake Havasu City, Ark.; his daughter, Annie Darrow of Toms River; his sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Bruno Lotto of North Arlington; four sisters-in-law, Catherine Colaneri, Elizabeth Notte, Vera Grassi and Sandra Kuzma; three brothers-in-law, Anthony Grassi, Frank Pisciotta and Donald Pisciotta; two grandchildren; and several nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. WALTER J. CLOUGH, 62, of Rumson died Feb. 26 at home. Born in Montclair, he lived in Monmouth Beach and Montclair prior to moving to Rumson 30 years ago. He was a stockbroker for Buckman, Buckman & Reid, Red Bank, for more than 30 years. Prior to that, he worked for Tucker Anthony, R.L. Day Inc., Fair Haven. He was a member of St. George’s by the River Episcopal Church, Rumson. He is survived by his three sons and a daughter-in-law, William M. Clough of Rumson, Anson C. and Heidi Clough of Marblehead, Mass., and W. Jaques Clough Jr. of New York City; his brother, Anson W. Clough of East Orleans, Mass.; his grandson; and his stepmother. BENJAMIN R. HARVEY JR., 69, of Red Bank died March 2. born in Oakhurst, he resided in the Wayside section of Tinton Falls prior to moving to Red Bank. He co-owned with his father and brother Benjamin R. Harvey Co., Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, since 1973. Prior to that he was an instructor in radar and satellite communications for the U.S. Army Signal Center and School, Fort Monmouth; and was an instructor and evaluator for the Instructional Methods Division. He served with the U.S. Army during peacetime. An avid golfer, he was a member of the PGA National Golf and Sports Club. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carmelita Harvey Jr. of Red Bank; his son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin R. and Lori Harvey III; his daughter, Lauren Harvey; and five grandchildren. ELIZABETH M. BATCHER, 97, of Red Bank died March 16 at Avante Nursing Home, Red Bank. Born in Newark, she lived in New York City and Hillside prior to moving to Red Bank several years ago. She was a factory worker for Weston Instruments Inc. for 20 years, retiring in 1969. She was predeceased by her son, Donald Batcher. She is survived by her dear friend, Ruth Gollubier of Ocean. ROBERT M. BROWN, 64, of Keyport died March 28 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Kearny, he resided in Union Beach prior to moving to Keyport 33 years ago. He was a serviceman for Elizabethtown Gas Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1998. He was a life member of the Union Beach First Aid Squad. He is survived by his wife, Rose Infanti of Keyport; his son, Robert M. Brown Jr. of Keyport; two daughters, Lisa Brown of Sea Bright, and Michelle Araneo of Keyport; and three grandchildren. Entombment was at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Keyport.
GRACE L. KELLY, 79, of Rumson died March 8 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Greenwich Village, N.Y., she moved to Rumson as a child. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. She was a member of the Rumson Senior Citizens Club, and was known for her donations of handmade wreaths. She was predecease by her husband, Raymond T. Kelly Sr. in 1987. EILEEN T. CARUSO, 84, of Keyport died April 1 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in East Newark, she resided in North Arlington prior to moving to Keyport 50 years ago. She was a homemaker. FRANCES T. "JUDIE" BRUSH FEIGENWINTER, 79, of Spotswood, formerly of Keyport, died Feb. 24 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. She was employed as a manager with Genova Associates at the Marlboro Airport and as an X-ray technician and office manager for 40 years with Leonard Genova, M.D., Middletown and Red Bank. She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Feigenwinter, and by her second husband, Richard Barlow. Surviving are a son, Robert Feigenwinter of Orford, N.H., and a daughter, Barbara J. Palazzolo of Monmouth Beach. Services were held at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Hazlet. Interment

MARY VESPA FENIELLO, 87, of the Lincroft section of Middletown died May 21 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation, Red Bank. Born in Italy, she lived in Jersey City for 60 years and moved to Lincroft 12 years ago. She worked part-time at Modern Hatters, Jersey City, for 25 years. She was also a homemaker. BRIG. GEN. PETER E. GENOVESE JR., USAR (retired), 64, of Brick Township died May 19 at The Medical Center of Ocean County, Brick, after a battle with leukemia. Born in Perth Amboy, he lived in Holmdel prior to moving to Brick Township. He worked in his family’s business in Red Bank prior to joining the U.S. Army as a tactician and battalion commander. He rose in command to a full colonel at age 42, and was promoted to brigadier general at age 47. Following his tour with the Army, he joined the New Jersey National Guard, and then ran Crate’s Beverages Inc., Red Bank. He was a military graduate of the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania; the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kan.; the U.S. Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pa.; and the National War College, Washington, D.C. He was past president of the Red Bank Rotary Club, receiving its honor of a Paul Harris Fellowship. He was on the boards of the Red Bank Chamber of Commerce, the American Red Cross, the Boy Scouts of America, the American Cancer Society, and the Association of the U.S. Army, Fort Monmouth Chapter. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Margaret Sacco Genovese of Brick Township; his daughter, Tamara Sulzbach of Brick Township; three sons, Peter Genovese III of Holmdel, Keith Genovese of Manalapan, and Jeffrey Genovese of Oceanport; his brother, Frank Genovese of Holmdel; two sisters, Theresa Drapczuk and Maryann Yori, both of Holmdel; his mother, Josephine Allocco; and several grandchildren.
