Theresa Boyle
Four Seasons at Wall Township resident Theresa Lillian Moscatello Boyle passed away on Saturday, Nov. 3.
She was 63 years old.
Theresa lovingly dedicated herself to the health care profession at Jersey Shore University Medical Center for over 20 years as a Registered Nurse. Returning to school later in life, she earned her associates degree in Nursing from Brookdale Community College.
Born and raised in Jersey City, she lived in Bayonne upon getting married, and then moved to Wall Township to raise her family, where she proudly lived for 37 years.
Mrs. Boyle was the loving wife of the late John Joseph Boyle, who passed in April of 2000. Mr. and Mrs. Boyle spent 40 loving years together as man and wife.
She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Theresa Cifaretto Moscatello.
Surviving are her devoted children, her loving son, John Joseph Boyle Jr., of Howell Township and her caring daughter, Karen and husband, Michael Donahue, of Wall Township; her dear devoted sister, Harriet Dougherty, of River Vale; and her loving sister-in- law, Anne Boyle, of Bayonne.
From heaven she will watch over her two cherished grandsons, Michael Jr. and Jack Donahue.
A funeral service will be held today at 8:45 a.m. from the O’Brien Funeral Home, Highway 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial
at 9:30 a.m. at St. Denis RC Church, 90 Union Ave., Manasquan.
Interment will be held at St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall.

Margaret Cummin
Manasquan resident Miss Margaret D. Cummins died on All Saints Day, Nov. 1, at Sunnyside Manor, where she had been a resident since 2001.
She was 98 years old.
Miss Cummins was born in East Orange and lived there for over 50 years. She moved to Orange with her sister, Anna Atno, staying there for the next 30 years.
She was a teacher at Clifton School, in Maplewood, retiring in 1969, after 38 years of service. She was a graduate of St. Vincent’s Academy, Class of 1928.
She attended Newark Normal School and received her bachelor of science degree in education from Kean University. She was a member of the National Education Association, the New Jersey Education Association, the Essex County Retired Teachers Association and The á Kempis of New Jersey.
She is survived by several nephews and nieces, their children, and grandchildren.
Relatives and friends will gather at Orender Funeral Home, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, on Saturday at 8 a.m. and proceed to Saint Denis Church, Manasquan, for the celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial
at 9:30 a.m.
Visitation will be held on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Interment will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange.

Harriet Anderson Pearce
Manasquan resident Harriet Anderson Pearce passed away peacefully on Oct. 22, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Union, she was raised there, and lived in Belmar, before moving to Manasquan in 1960.
A hairdresser, Harriet was employed by Frank and Mary’s Beauty Parlor, in Avon, and later, by Nature’s Way Beauty Boutique, Brielle. She also was a freelance hair stylist for several funeral homes in both Monmouth and Ocean counties. Harriet was a member of the Woman’s Club of Manasquan, and also enjoyed to knit, crochet and needlepoint.
A beloved wife and loving mother, she was predeceased by her husband, Harrison, in 2006.
She is survived by two daughters, Lee Ann Pearce, of Manasquan, and Laurie Pearce and her husband, Kim Kowalczyk, of Jackson; her brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Cathy Anderson; her sister, Betty Walther; her nephew, who she referred to as “my boy, ” T.J. Walther and his wife, Lisa; and five grandchildren, Allyson, Katelyn and David Woolley and Alexandra and Payden Kowalczyk.
A service will be held today at 10 a.m., at the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, 901 Beaver Dam Road, Point Pleasant, followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Margaret Pappas
Yonkers, N.Y. resident Margaret Pappas [nee Fitzpatrick], formerly of Manasquan, died on Wednesday, Oct. 17 in Princeton Junction.
She was born to John and Helen Maroney Fitzpatrick in Yonkers, where she was raised and educated, graduating from Roosevelt High School. Mrs. Pappas was a bookkeeper at various companies throughout Westchester County. Mrs. Pappas was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, in Yonkers.
She was an avid Yankee fan and her favorite player was Derek Jeter.
Survivors include two sons, Peter Pappas and his wife, Laura, of Manasquan, and Kevin Pappas, of Princeton Junction; one daughter, Barbara Doyle and her husband, Thomas, of Cornwall, N.Y.; one brother, Thomas Fitzpatrick, of Yonkers; and one sister, Helen Berry, of Ridgeland, S.C.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Patricia, Colleen, Peter, Mary Kate, Jack, Tyler and Ryan, and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her former husband, Peter Pappas, in 1996; and three brothers, Raymond, Joseph and John Fitzpatrick.
Interment was held at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Norman Thomas Day
Brick resident Norman Thomas Day, formerly of Wall Township and Bradenton, Fla., passed away on Oct. 18 at home, surrounded by his loving family after a short illness.
He was 85 years old.
Norman was born in Trenton and moved to Bradley Beach at age 16. He was a 1940 graduate of Asbury Park High School.
He retired as a mason from Local Bricklayers Union No. 8, Neptune. He was a member of St. Denis Church, Manasquan, for many years and a parishioner of Epiphany Roman Catholic Church, Brick.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving his country in the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. He flew PBY Seaplanes in the Asiatic, Pacific, European, African and Middle East Theatres.
Lovingly known to all as “Stormin Norman, ” he enjoyed fishing, especially with the “over the rail gang” at the Manasquan Inlet, boating, bowling, playing golf, and in later years, walking the boardwalk. He was the former coach of the “Owls” Little League team in Wall.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas M. and Josephine Day; and his brothers, Walter, Thomas and Henry. He was predeceased by his son, Daniel, in 2006.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 61 years, Ruth; his sons, daughters and their spouses, William and Loraine Day, of Allentown, Timothy and Nancy Day, of Brick, Carolyn and Jack Augustensen, of Lakewood, Judith and John Eldridge, of Manchester, and Nancy and James Myers, of Howell; and his eight grandchildren, Michael and Kevin Day, Justin and Ryan Day, Jaclyn Augustensen, Jason Lamb, and Jennifer and Amy Eldridge. He is also survived by a brother, Joseph, of San Antonio, Texas. Norman will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Interment was held at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Wall.

Alfred J. Manutti
Belmar resident Alfred J. Manutti Sr. died on Friday, Oct. 19 at his residence.
He was born in New York City and was a resident of the Shore area most of his life. He was a resident of Wall Township for more than 30 years and most recently resided in Belmar.
He was employed in sales, by J & J Distributors of fine wines and spirits of Millburn, for 34 years, before retiring in 1980. He was a retired member of the Distillers, Wine and Allied Workers Union, International [AFL-CIO]. He was a graduate of St. Rose Grammar School and High School in Belmar.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, and was attached to Hdq and Hdq supply. He was in the Squadron 9th Air Force and spent 26 months in the European Theater [ETO].
Mr. Manutti was a member of the American Legion Post No. 346, in Neptune; Disabled American Veterans, Spring Lake Heights No. 46; and VFW Post No. 15031, of Trenton. He was a communicant of the Church of the Ascension, in Bradley Beach.
He was predeceased by his dearly beloved wife, Louis Hahn Manutti; his loving son, Alfred J. Manutti Jr.; his dearly beloved sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia and Buddy Gager; his brother, Joseph and sister-in-law, Agnes; and loving sister, Irene Twidle, all of Belmar.
Mr. Manutti is survived by his most caring brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Erma Manutti, of Belmar, and several nieces and nephews.
Interment was held at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Wall.

William Hough
Wall Township resident William Edward Hough died on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the Care One Assisted Living Center of Wall.
He was 87 years old.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Hough served with the Army during WW II. He was a staff sergeant assigned to the 113th Reconnaissance Squadron during the Air Offensive against Japan, during which time he received the American Service Medal, The Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, The World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Following his military discharge, Mr. Hough was employed as a banker with the National Westminster Bank in New York for many years. Following his retirement he moved to Belmar in 1976. He was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 346 of Neptune.
The son of the late Charles Hough and Stephanie Schaefer Hough, he was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Abigail Hough, in 1984.
Surviving are his two loving children, Lawrence Hough, of New York and Claire Schuller and her husband, Gary, of Kendall Park; two special grandchildren, Kevin and his wife, Cindy, and Christine Schuller; in addition to his friend and long time companion, Murial I. Howard.
Interment with military honors was held at the Wall United Methodist Church Cemetery, Spring Lake Heights.
