Diane M. Chewning Perrine
Brick resident Diane M. Chewning Perrine, who was born in Point Pleasant, died Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
She was 60 years old.
Born in Point Pleasant, she was a lifelong resident of Brick. Mrs. Perrine was a member of the Harvey Memorial Methodist Church, Point Pleasant, and was also a member of the National Street Rod Association. She had been a self-employed home health aide for many years.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward Russell Perrine, in 2004; and her brother, Kirk Chewning.
She is survived her daughter, Deborah Mary McLaughlin and her husband Daniel; her two sons, Edward James Perrine and his wife Patricia and Jeffrey Thomas Perrine and his wife Renee, all of Brick. She also leaves her four loving grandchildren, Edward, Jeralyn, Owen and Shawn. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Rosalie McCarthy of Brick; her brothers, Donald Sherman and his wife Peggy of Bayville, Berkeley, and Louis Chewning of Point Pleasant; her brothers-in-law, Thomas R. McCarthy III of Brick, and James and his wife Paulette Perinne Jr. of Wall; and her sisters-in-law, Linda Chewning of Manasquan, and Alice C. Cassell of Brick.
The O’Brien Funeral Home, Brick handled the arrangements. Entombment took place at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.

Brian Patrick Mcateer
Toms River resident Brian Patrick Mcateer, whose family resides in Point Pleasant, died Sunday, Sept. 23 at Beth Israel Hospital.
He was 63 years old.
Mr. McAteer celebrated his 10th anniversary as a heart transplant recipient in February.
He served in the Army from 1966 to 1972. He was a combat helicopter pilot and a Vietnam Veteran. He was presented the Army Commendation Medal, Air Medal and two Purple Hearts. He was a drug officer and instrumental in organizing his unit to aid the local orphanage there with donations of time and money. He was a member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilot’s Association.
Mr. McAteer was also a student at Georgian Court University, a dean’s scholar from 2004 to 2005 and a history major. He had a love for history and his hope was to teach and impart this love to young minds.
He was a devoted husband, who deeply loved his children and grandchildren. He was our hero, and will be missed so very much.
He was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Nina McAteer.
Surviving are his wife, Maureen; two children, Gavin J. McAteer of Bloomfield and Lara Christine McAteer of Point Pleasant; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Leigh Melendez; son-in-law, Anthony Melendez; three grandchildren, Michael, Ashleigh and Hannah Melendez of Hopatcong; a sister, Lenore Punk of Point Pleasant; and two nephews, Scott and Jason Punk.
The Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, Toms River, handled the arrangements. He was interred at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial cemetery in Wrightstown.

Marilyn Doris Riddle Siebert
Wyckoff resident Marilyn Doris Riddle Siebert, formerly of Point Pleasant, died Sunday, Sept. 23.
She was 74 years old.
Born in Metuchen, she lived in Point Pleasant Beach, and Avon, Conn. before moving to Wyckoff in July 1975.
Marilyn married
F. Robert Siebert on July 31, 1953 and was married
for 50 years prior to his death in 2002.
She was a member of West Side Presbyterian Church, Ridgewood. She will be greatly missed by friends, neighbors and loved ones, alike.
Surviving are her daughter, Kathryn L. Siebert and her companion, David Stone of Toms River; her son, Robert F. Siebert and his companion, Brad Coath St. Petersburg, Fla.; her aunt, Edna Marhak of Manchester; her sister-in-law, Norma Neese of Saranac Lake, N.Y.; and two nieces, Sheree Neese-Todd and Susan Rushlaw.
Arrangements by the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, Wyckoff. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation was private.

John A. Holle Jr.
Bloomfield resident John A. Holle Jr., known by all as Brother, died suddenly at his Sea Girt residence on Thursday, Oct. 4.
John was born in Newark, was a lifelong resident of Bloomfield and a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
John dearly loved his family, friends and dogs. He greatly enjoyed all things Irish and had a fondness for fast cars. Through his charismatic personality and endless capacity for love, John brought joy to all who knew him. He will be sorely missed.
John is survived by his parents, John A. and Cecilia Jordan Holle, of Bloomfield; his sisters, Joan Holle, of Spring Lake and Dolores Holle, of Sea Girt; his brother, James Jordan Holle, his sister-in-law, Deirdre Cannon Holle, his nephews, James and Brian Holle, all of East Hanover; and his brother, Laurence P. Dolan, of Scottsdale, Ariz. Also surviving are his aunts and uncle, Mary Fultz, of Spring Lake, Rose Wildeman, of Point Pleasant, and Ernest and Teresa Corcoran, of Blairstown, as well as many cousins in the U.S. and Ireland.
Interment was held at Holy Cross Cemetery, No. Arlington.

Patricia McCormick
Wall resident Patricia L. McCormick died peacefully at home on Oct. 9, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was 60 years old.
Formerly of Avon-by-the-Sea, she resided in Wall for 30 years. She was born in Summit to Gerald and Lillian Fowler, by whom she was predeceased. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth’s Church, in Avon.
She graduated from Avon Elementary School, Asbury Park High School and Glassboro College. She began her teaching career in Ocean Township in 1968, and retired from the Colts Neck Township Elementary School in 2004, where she was a kindergarten teacher for 16 years. She was honored in 2001 as Teacher of the Year by the Colts Neck Board of Education.
Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Edward P., of Wall; a daughter, Michele M., of Tinton Falls; a son, Kevin P. and his wife, Katie, of Wall; a brother, Michael Fowler and his wife, Gloria, and nephews Stephen and David; her sister and brother-in-law, Drs. William and Pat Lynch, of Foster City, Calif.; a lifelong friend and source of never-ending inspiration, Sally Buchanan, of Longmeadow, Mass., and numerous relatives and friends. She is also survived by her favorite pets, Nestle and Molly, who were a source of tremendous enjoyment and comfort.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Oct. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Reilly Funeral Home, 801 D Street, Belmar. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Monday, at 8:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth’s Church, in Avon, at 10 a.m.

Bryan Patrick Ahern
Wall resident Bryan Patrick Ahern died on Friday, Oct. 5, at his home.
He was 18 years old.
Born in Long Branch, he lived in Manasquan before coming to Wall 12 years ago. Bryan was a senior at Wall Township High School and was employed at Acme Supermarket in Manasquan.
He had looked forward to his Senior year class trip and attending Brookdale next fall. He embraced life with joy and enthusiasm and especially loved his family, vacations, bowling, playing chess and golf.
He greeted everyone with a smile and hug that came from his heart. He will be missed by those who love him. There is a big hole left where Bryan stood; smiling much of the time, loving his work and studying to go on to college. He was truly our angel on earth.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Anthony Zurich.
He is survived by his loving parents, Patrick and Debbie Ahern; his brother, James Ahern; and his paternal grandparents, Edward and Patricia Ahern; and his maternal grandmother, Mary Zurich. He also leaves his uncles, aunts and cousins, who loved him dearly.
Burial
was held at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt.

F. Robert Haase, MD
Toms River resident F. Robert Haase, MD, formerly of Brielle and Point Pleasant, died on Sunday, Oct. 7, at his home.
He was 86 years old.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Md., he came to New Jersey in 1960. He attended the University Of Maryland School Of Pharmacy, in Baltimore, earning his bachelor of science degree in pharmacy, in 1943, and received his medical degree from the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine, in 1947.
He served his internship at Church Home Hospital in Baltimore as an assistant resident and completed his residency in otolaryngology at University Hospital, also in Baltimore.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War serving aboard the hospital ship, USS Haven, attaining the rank of lieutenant, and also served at St. Alban’s Naval Hospital, in New York, and Bethesda Naval Hospital, in Maryland. Upon leaving the service, Dr. Haase attended the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Medicine and received board certification in otolaryngology in 1954 and served a residency at Jackson Clinic, Temple University Hospital, in Philadelphia.
He opened his own practice in Baltimore, Md., in 1955. After moving to New Jersey, he went into private practice in Neptune and Point Pleasant and joined the staffs of Point Pleasant Hospital and Fitkin Hospital, now Jersey Shore University Medical Center, in Neptune. He served as Chief of Staff in 1974 and 1975.
He was a diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology, was a member of the Monmouth County and New Jersey State Medical Societies, the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, where he served as instructor from 1962-1963. He also served as a professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
He was a church council member at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, in Manasquan.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Elizabeth F. Furst Haase; his son, F. Robert Haase Jr.; and his brothers, J. Henry and F. Albert Haase Jr.
He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Frazee and her husband, Gerald, and Elizabeth Cornell and her husband, Christopher; his grandson, Ethan Frazee; and his brother and his wife, Charles Albert and Lillian Haase.
Services will continue with visitation at Ruck Towson Funeral Home in Maryland on Friday, with a funeral service on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by burial at Woodlawn cemetery in Woodlawn, Md.
