Margie N. Pollina
Margie N. Pollina, 68, of Sea Girt, died suddenly Tuesday, March 30, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Margie has resided here for 38 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Margie was a communicant of St. Catharine’s Catholic Church, Spring Lake.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert J. Pollina. She is also survived by her daughter and her husband Jennifer and Jay Kipp, Jackson, and her son and his wife Robert, Jr. and Kimberly Pollina, Brick. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Jessica and Jaclyn Kipp and Skyler, Ryder, Colton and Mikayla Pollina.
Interment was private. The O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall, was in charge of arrangements.

James Emmett ‘Jim’ Anderson
James Emmett “Jim” Anderson of Richmond, Va., formerly of Sea Girt, died unexpectedly on Easter Sunday, April 4.
Jim was born in New York City and spent his childhood in Sea Girt. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, and Fordham University, Bronx, N.Y., where he was awarded the Hugh O’Reilly Memorial Award and was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society. Jim earned a Juris Doctor degree and was a member of The Law Review of the TC Williams School of Law. He was formerly employed by Deloitte, Haskins and Sells, New York, N.Y., as a CPA. Jim ran a successful law practice in Henrico County, Va., for nearly thirty years and was an active member in good standing of the Virginia State Bar Association. He was also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Richmond School of Continuing Studies for over twenty years.
Jim was a parishioner at St. Bridget Catholic Church. He was a devoted family man and sports enthusiast. He especially enjoyed golf and the beach. His unfailing love of family, friends and laughter will always be remembered.
He is survived by his wife, Joan, and children, James Emmett Jr. “Jamie” and Erin. He leaves behind two brothers, Thomas Anderson of Arizona, Peter Anderson of New Jersey, sister Patricia “Mimi” Arnold and husband William of Maine; sister-in-law Amanda Housen and brother-in-law, Christopher Housen, New Jersey, and nephews, Colin Anderson-Smits, Shane Arnold, Galen Arnold, and Zachary Housen.
Interment will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Spring Lake.
Courtenay ‘Bud’ Salisbury Whitman III
Courtenay “Bud” Salisbury Whitman III, 81, of Wall died on Sunday Feb. 14, at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
Mr. Whitman was owner of Whitman Chevrolet in Newark and also was the owner of Big Blue Barn in Manasquan. He was a Unites States Navy Veteran during the Korean War from 1948 to 1951 where he served his country proudly on the Coral Sea. He was a member of the American Rhododendron Society and a past treasurer of the Manasquan Brielle Little League. Born in Orange, he grew up in Maplewood and lived in Livingston and Manasquan before moving to Wall 20 years ago.
Surviving is his loving wife Marilyn Jean Whitman [Weilert] of 58 years, three sons Dr. Courtenay “Skip” S. Whitman IV and his wife Diane of Elkin, N.C., Stephen Whitman and his wife Donna of Wall, Stewart Whitman and his wife Carol also of Wall, daughter Mary Ellen Kawatachi and her husband Mitch of California, sisters Jackie Sommer and her husband Bert of Hollis, N.H., Beth Dise and her husband Larry of Florida, Judy Taylor and her husband Rick of Vernon, Conn., grandchildren Courtenay J.P. Whitman, Crista Whitman, Clinton Whitman, Keith Whitman, Kyle Whitman, Melissa Sanchez and her husband Anthony, Michelle Kawczynski and her husband Dave, Melanie Whitman, Christine Dyhr, Christopher Whitman, Carolyn Whitman, Carolyn Whitman, Craig Whitman, Corey Whitman, Moana Kawatachi, and Kiana Kawatachi, great-grandchildren, Charlotte Whitman, Tyler Sanchez, Alexa Sanchez, Tezra Kawczynski, Madison Dougherty, Abigail Dyhr. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family, at Bud’s request, has decided to have a simple private graveside service. Memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, Somerset NJ Office, 19 Schoolhouse Road, Somerset 08873 in Bud’s name.
Ursula Dziobek
Ursula [nee Kabisch] Dziobek, entered into eternal rest on Monday Feb. 15 at her home.
Private services were held under the direction of the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, Linden.
Ursula was born in Leipzig, Germany. After World War II she moved to Bremen, Germany. She came to the United States in 1957 settling in New York City, where she had her two sons, Frank and Joe. In 1973 she moved to West Islip, Long Island, before moving to Linden in 1979 and became a member of the Wine and Distillery Workers Union.
She was a certified mechanic for Williams Grants and Sons Bottle and Distillery in Edison for many years, retiring in 2009. Previously she was a waitress for many years at Horn and Hardet in Manhattan and at LaGrange Inn in West Islip, Long Island.
Ursula was the loving mother to Frank of San Francisco, Calif. and Joseph and his wife Diane of Manasquan; dear sister to Klaus Kabisch of Hutthurm, Germany; and the late Rudi Kabisch, cherished grandmother to Rakel, Alexander and Benjamin; wife of her late ex-husband Joseph.
Mom, Oma and friend - you will be missed by many.

Walton Waits Kingsbery Jr.
Walton Waits Kingsbery Jr., a retired Senior Executive of Price Waterhouse, died in Spring Lake. He was 81 years old.
He and Helen Elizabeth Clayton were married
in 1953 in Spring Lake, the sea side town to which they retired in 1987. He is survived by his wife, Betty, three sons and daughters-in law: Walton III and Tara, James C. and Mary Louise, Peter C. and Christine and thirteen grandchildren.
Mr. Kingsbery was born in Evergreen, Ala., lived for several years in Austin, Texas and the major portion of his childhood in Uniontown, Ala. He attended Washington & Lee University and the University of Alabama. After his graduation in 1950, he joined the staff of Price Waterhouse & Co., in New York City. He served as a soldier and Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was discharged in June 1953 and resumed his accounting career in New York City. He became a partner of the firm in 1965 and served as engagement partner to a number of major U.S. and international corporations. He was a recognized authority and frequent speaker on law firm management and pension and steel industry accounting matters.
In 1975 the family moved to Hunting Valley, Ohio. Mr. Kingsbery was managing partner of the Cleveland practice of Price Waterhouse serving major companies in the tire and chemical industries. He was elected by partners of his firm to an eight year term on the firm’s policy board and management committee. In 1987 the family moved to Rolling Hills, Calif. and Mr. Kingsbery took on the added responsibility of managing partner of the Los Angeles office and regional manager of the Western States offices of the firm. He was a certified public accountant licensed in many states.
After retirement in 1988, he was employed by the Office of the Attorney General of N.J. as a consultant on management of the 550 lawyer practice of the Office. He was appointed by Governor Whitman to the N.J. Commission to Deter Criminal Activity. He was a former member of the Borough of Shrewsbury Planning Board and the Borough of Spring Lake Planning Board. As a young father he was very involved with Indian Guides and Cub Scouts. Civic and charitable activities include Cleveland and Los Angeles United Way group chairmanships and Cleveland Growth Association Board Member.
He was a former member of the Monmouth Beach Bath and Tennis Club in Monmouth Beach, The Country Club, Shaker Heights, Ohio; the University Club, New York City; the California Club, Jonathan Club, Bel Aire Country Club and Rolling Hills Tennis Club in the Los Angeles area. He served for many years as Treasurer and Board member of the Spring Lake Golf Club.
The O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall, was in charge of arrangements. Committal was in St. Catharine’s cemetery in Sea Girt.

Robert George Hanley
Robert George Hanley, 58, of Mantoloking, died peacefully on Tuesday Feb. 23 at home surrounded by his loving family. The cause of death was pancreatic cancer.
Born in Newark, “Bob” as he was known to his many friends, attended Essex Catholic High School and was a graduate of Monmouth University. He spent much of his adult life in Ocean County and was formerly a resident of Bay Head and Point Pleasant before recently moving to Mantoloking. Bob had a successful career as a manufacturer’s representative for men’s clothing and luxury accessories and for the past 21 years was a clothier and salesman at R.J. Furlong Clothiers in Wall Township. He was an avid sailor and a classic car enthusiast. Bob was a friend of Bill W, who went on to help many individuals and he was known for his sense of compassion and understanding for those in need. He was a true gentleman and a kind soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Wallace Hanley and his sons, Sean and Shea Hanley. There will be visiting hours tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 7 to 9 p.m. at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd. Brick. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Sacred Heart Church in Bay Head. Committal will be private.

Gail Gallagher Brennan
Gail Gallagher Brennan, of Sea Girt, an incredible, vibrant, beautiful woman departed from us on Saturday, Feb. 20, with her loving family surrounding her.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dr. Edward A. Brennan Jr. of Stuart, Florida, and Sea Girt, and her three daughters: Sheila Brennan Capparis and her husband Philip of Chatham, Elizabeth [Beth] Murphy and her husband Michael of Sea Girt, and Ellen [Amy] Brennan Krebs and her husband Peter of Spring Lake Heights. She was predeceased by her beloved son Edward A. [Ted] Brennan III on September 11, 2001. In addition, she is survived by her brothers Paul E. Gallagher Jr. of Tiburon, Calif., and Sandford T. Gallagher of Danville, Ill. Also, never to be forgotten, she leaves 10 grandchildren: Michael, Christopher, Caroline, Grace, Edward, Michael, Emma, Sophie, Elinor and Charlotte with an eleventh grandchild soon expected.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of the former Elinor Reilly and Paul E. Gallagher, she later moved to West Newton, Mass., where she completed grammar school. Moving thereafter to Maplewood, she was graduated from Our Lady of the Valley in Orange. She was also a graduate of Trinity College in Washington, D.C. with a degree in history.
Mrs. Brennan was a member of the Mariner Sands Country Club in Stuart, Fla., and the Manasquan River Golf Club in Brielle. She was a former member of the Sea Girt Woman’s Club, The Spring Lake Garden Club and the Reeves-Reed Arboretum of Summit.
She enjoyed most her family, gardening, reading, walking and keeping up with her innumerable friends. The telephone was rarely silent. In truth, she never went anywhere that she didn’t run into someone she knew.
Mrs. Brennan was a communicant of St. Christopher’s Church in Hobe Sound, Fla., and St. Mark’s Church in Sea Girt.
Known as “GaGa” to her loving grandchildren, she was known to them for games of pick up sticks, Old Maid and her delicious French toast. She was our idol, our role model, our guiding light and true compass. As one of her countless good friends said, the world will not be the same place without Gail Brennan.

Lorna Mary Kelly Doran
Lorna Mary Kelly Doran, 76, of Wall, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Feb. 19, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
Born in Orange, she was a loving sister, dedicated and loving mother and proud grandmother. Her spirit and zest for life were an inspiration to everyone she met. She will be missed tremendously by her many friends and family. Her many passions included socializing, decorating, sports but mainly keeping up with her grandchildren. She lived in Roseland and North Caldwell, before coming to Brielle and then Wall Township 10 years ago. Lorna was a self employed real estate broker. She founded and operated her own agency, Lorna M. Doran Realtors in Caldwell for 8 years. She was later employed as a sales agent with Diane Turton Realtors in Spring Lake.
She is survived by her children, Bill Doran and his wife Susan, Katie Carballeira and her husband, Joe, Michael Doran and his wife Adair, Dr. Jim Doran and Mark Doran. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Katie, Kelly and Michael Doran, Billy and Caroline Carballeira, Isabel, Olivia and Gabrielle Doran, her sisters, Anita Healy, Louise Lepping, Katie Kelly and her brothers, Robert and Kevin Kelly. She was predeceased by her brothers, Gerry and Addison Kelly.

James John ‘Jay’ Reichey Jr.
James John “Jay” Reichey Jr., 66, of Millville, formerly of Spring Lake, passed away on Feb. 14 following a long illness.
Born and raised in Spring Lake, Jay graduated from Archbishop Hurley Prep School in Florida and attended Trinity College in Texas before going to work for his father at Reichey Bros. Paving Co. He had recently retired after almost 30 years as a self-employed contractor. A devoted cat fancier, Jay will be best remembered as an avid reader and outdoorsman and as a born storyteller whose ready wit and sense of humor delighted family, friends and strangers alike. Eager for others to share in the joy of living - that was Jay Reichey all over.
Jay was predeceased by his parents James and Margaret Reichey and by his brothers, Michael and John. He leaves behind his wife Isabelle of Millville, sister Peggy Huegel and her husband Peter of Spring Lake Heights, son T.J. Reichey and his wife Theresa of Manasquan, daughter Sherry Desibio and her husband Ray of Mullica Hill, daughter Kristin Reichey of Brick, daughter Leah Quinn and her husband Bob, also of Brick, together with eight grandchildren, nine nieces and nephews and nine grandnieces and nephews.
We miss you dearly, Jay, all of us. Your like will not be here again.

Gerd M. Olsen
Gerd M. Olsen of Brielle, died Saturday, Feb. 20, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
Born in Norway, she came to the United States in 1946 and lived in Brooklyn and Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Brielle in 1964.
Mrs. Olsen was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Manasquan and was a local artist and crafter.
Mrs. Olsen was predeceased by her husband Otto in 1983 and is survived by two sons, Thomas and his wife Marie of Wall and Gary and his wife Holly of Ocala, Fla., one daughter, Rita Olsen Nash and her husband Charles of Atlanta, Ga., two sisters, Borghil Bjordahl and Bjorg Stolpestad, both of Norway, five grandchildren, Erik, Timothy, Ted and Rebecca Olsen and Kathryn Nash Freeland and her husband Will. Other close family include Thor and Susan Kongvold and Anne Kongvold.
