ROBERT JOHN HOFFMAN JR., 33, of Shrewsbury died Feb. 10 at home. Born in Shrewsbury, he was lifelong resident. He was a licensed private investigator for the family-owned Hoffman Security and Detective Agency Inc., Shrewsbury. He was also an assistant store manager at Treasure Island, Shrewsbury; and a supervisor at United Parcel Service, Tinton Falls. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Red Bank. While attending New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, he obtained a grant to do research at Holloman Air Force Base, Alamogordo, N.M. He enjoyed cooking and poetry, with publication of his first poem due next month. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Herman and Loretta Brogan Hoffman, and his maternal grandfather, Borden H. Wolcott Sr. He is survived by his parents, Robert John and Dolores Hoffman Sr. of Shrewsbury; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cherie and Gary Howard of Tinton Falls, and Loretta and Mike Lawrence; his brother and sister-in-law, William and Donna Hoffman of Tinton Falls; his maternal grandmother, Pauline C. Wolcott of Shrewsbury; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery, Hillside.

DOLORES G. DOMBROSKI, 73, of Shrewsbury died Feb. 2 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Holmdel, she lived in Red Bank for 59 years prior to moving to Shrewsbury. She was a bank teller at PNC Bank, Red Bank, from 1956-94. Prior to that, she worked at Eisner’s, Red Bank; and operated her family’s Holmdel farm with her parents. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis V. Dombroski; her sister, Josephine Luccarelli; and her brother, Giovanni Greco. She is survived by her son, Victor Joseph Dombroski of Shrewsbury; two brothers, John Greco of Holmdel, and Daniel Greco of the Lincroft section of Middletown; and five sisters, Grace Sannelli and Carmena Van Leer, both of Lincroft, Mary Arnella of Colts Neck, Frances Sabia of Holmdel, and Sylvia Rago of Fair Haven. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.

CHASE THOMAS NELSON died Feb. 6 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, where he was born Oct. 13. He is survived by his mother, Heather Nelson of Ocean Township; his grandmother, Jeanne "Oma" Nelson of Ocean Township; his grandfather, Thomas Nelson of Middletown; his great-grandmothers, Lillian Mueller of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Jean Nelson of Red Bank; and his aunt. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

EILEEN WALSH WILLIAMS, 75 of the Lincroft section of Middletown died Jan. 2 at her daughter’s home in the Wayside section of Ocean Township. Born in Jersey City, she lived in North Middletown for 25 years, prior to moving to Lincroft 10 years ago. She was a homemaker, and active in Luftman Towers where she assisted in getting vital approvals passed. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Williams in 1976. She is survived by six daughters and five sons-in-law, Jennifer and Frank Lombardi of Wayside, Pamela and Steve Bertoncin of River Plaza, Middletown, Beth Ann Carll of Shirley, N.Y., Bernadette and Vlademir Yanefski of Aberdeen, Diane and Randall Parker of Belle Mead, Mary Ellen and Christopher Stoddard of Millstone, and Mary and John Meehan of Staunton, Va.; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Joseph and Cheryl Williams of Royston, Ga., John and Betty Williams of Chesapeake, Va., George Williams of Norfolk, Va., and Walter Williams of Middletown; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and John Meehan of Staunton, Va.; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ronnie and Bob Thomas of Chatham, N.Y.; 22 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. JOHN STIEVE, 59, of the ARC Group Home, Shrewsbury died Feb. 7 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Summit, he resided in Shrewsbury the past 18 years. He worked for The ARC Work Opportunity Center, Long Branch. He was a member of the Joymakers Bowling League, Long Branch. He was predeceased by his parents, Theodore P. and Marie L. Nolte Stieve. He is survived by three brothers, Theodore Stieve of Fair Haven, Robert Stieve of White Plains, N.Y., and Richard Stieve of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. CARMINE J. AMBROSINO, 82, of Little Silver died Feb. 7 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Hoboken, he lived in Holmdel prior to moving to Little Silver 36 years ago. He was co-owner of the family business, formerly Twin Boro Motors, and now Buhler Dodge, Shrewsbury. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. His memberships included past member of the Knights of Columbus Council, Red Bank; past member of the Red Bank Kiwanis Club and the Holmdel Board of Education; and past president of the New Jersey Dealers Association. He was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Ambrosino. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Caroline M. Suppa Ambrosino of Little Silver; his son and daughter-in-law, Frank C. and Candy Ambrosino of Tinton Falls; his daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and John Angelucci of Oceanport; two brothers, Joseph Ambrosino of Florida, and Samuel J. Ambrosino of Tinton Falls; two sisters, Marge Genovese of Little Silver, and Florence Capriglione of Tinton Falls; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Fair View cemetery Mausoleum, Middletown.

EMILY MORAN, 86, of Middletown died Feb. 7 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, she relocated to Middletown in 1954. She was a legal secretary for several firms in Jersey City and Red Bank for 60 years, retiring in 1970. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Peter Moran of Middletown; her son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Judy Moran III of Baltimore, Md.; her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia C. and Bradley Quellet of Canton, Mass.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

DOROTHY M. KEMPROWSKI MEYERS, 61, of Belmar died Feb. 2 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, she resided there until moving to Belmar three years ago. She was a cashier for Kmart, Wall Township, for one year. Prior to that, she was a custodian for the Jersey City Board of Education for 25 years, retiring 10 years ago. She was predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Meyers, and her son-in-law, Robert O’Callahan. She is survived by her former husband, Joseph Meyers; her daughter, Catherine O’Callahan of Roselle Park; seven sons and four daughters-in-law, Joseph Meyers of Neptune City, Charles and Karen Meyers of Keansburg, Michael and Stella Meyers of Toms River, Keith Meyers of Ocean Grove, Kevin and Crystal Meyers of Jersey City, Mark and Ann Marie Meyers of Bayonne, and Shawn Meyers of Jersey City; two brothers, Frank Kemprowski of Red Bank, and John Kemprowski of Elberon; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Jim Mack of Long Branch; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Rose’s Roman Catholic Church, Belmar. Interment was at Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo section of Middletown. The Honorable EMMA BAXTER POETER, 96, of Phoenix, Ariz., and formerly of Rumson, died Jan. 31 at Sun View Care Center, Youngtown, Ariz. She was born and educated in New York City, and lived in Rumson and Vermont prior to moving to Phoenix. She owned and operated the N.J. Equipment Company. Very active politically, she began as ward chairman and a member of the Essex County Republican Committee; and was the youngest candidate to run for the state Legislature. She was also a member of the U.S. Republican Senatorial Committee and U.S. Republican Congressional Committee. Upon moving to Vermont, she served in the Legislature; and served as Legislative Committee Chairman for the National Order of Women Legislators. She was a founder of the Center for International Security Studies of the American Security Council Education Foundation, an advisory board member of the American Security Council, and an active member of the National Tax Limitation Committee. She is survived by her daughter, Doris Baxter Jackson of Monmouth Beach; two sons, Robert Charles Baxter of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Richard Wells Baxter of Phoenix; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the First Church of Christ Scientist, 211 Broad St., Red Bank 07701.
