Janet Russin
Milton, N.Y. resident Janet Russin, whose daughter lives in Point Pleasant, died Saturday, Jan. 24 in her home after an eight-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was 68 years old.
Born in Peckville, Pa. on June 14, 1940, Janet was the daughter of Thomas and Pauline Geroulo.
Janet was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School in Olyphant, Pa. She retired from West Park Union Free School District, where she was the secretary to the superintendent of schools. Prior to that, she worked as a classroom aide at West Park Schools and as a teacher’s aide in the Marlboro School District.
Janet was an active volunteer for many organizations, but most recently for the Dutchess County Division of the American Cancer Society. Janet was a communicant of St. James Parish in Milton, N.Y.
She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Pauline; and her brothers, Vito, Palmer and Thomas Jr.
Janet is survived by her husband of 45 years, Mike; and her four children, Alexandra Ottaviano and her husband, Joseph, of Chittenango, N.Y, Michael Russin and his wife, Anne, of East Rockaway, N.Y, Jeannette Janeiro and her husband, Phil, of Milton, N.Y. and Christine Daniel and her husband, Clint, of Point Pleasant.
Janet is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Pauline, Thomas, Michael, Philip, Jonathan, Elizabeth and Blake. Janet leaves behind her two sisters, Anna Galli and Gloria Sebastianelli; sister-in-law Nan Geroulo; mother-in-law, Vera Russin; brother-in-law John Russin and his wife, Donna; and sister-in-law MaryAnn Flynn, all of the Scranton area in Pennsylvania.
The family gratefully acknowledges the support of Hospice of Ulster and Dutchess County and the nursing staff and patient care technicians at St. Francis Hospital.
The DiDonato Funeral Home in Marlboro, N.Y. was in charge of arrangements. Interment
took place at Cedar Hills in Middlehope, N.Y.

Karen Marie Lembcke Hauck
Point Pleasant Beach resident Karen Marie Lembcke Hauck died Thursday, Jan. 22 in VanDyke Hospice at Community Medical Center, Toms River.
She was 65 years old.
Born in Elizabeth, to the late R. Ray and Marie Schuler Lembcke, she was raised there, and had lived in Virginia, Maryland, North Syracuse, N.Y., and also in Germany, residing in Point Pleasant Beach since 1979.
Karen worked as a coordinator for Visiting Home Care of Ocean County, Toms River
She was an artist, who enjoyed pen and ink, and was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Point Pleasant.
She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Lembcke Jr.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of nearly 40 years, Franklin P. Hauck; her daughter, Jennifer Disbrow, of Point Pleasant; her son Stephen Hauck, of Point Pleasant Beach; her sister, Linda Sabio and her husband, Robert, of Roselle Park; and her grandson, Christopher Disbrow. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many friends.
The Pable-Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, was in charge of arrangements. Committal took place at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 708 Ocean Road, Point Pleasant, 08742, are suggested.
Joseph V. O’Shea
Old Bridge resident Joseph V. O’Shea, whose son lives in Point Pleasant Beach, died Monday, Jan. 26, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.
He was 79 years old.
Born in East Rutherford, he resided in Matawan before moving to Old Bridge in 1988. He was a communicant of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Laurence Harbor.
Joseph is survived by his children, a son, Timothy O’Shea, of Point Pleasant Beach; and a daughter, Susan Smith, of Colchester, Conn.; four grandsons, Colin, Ryan, Timmy and Shane; and two great-grandsons, Justin and Riley.
Family and friends are invited from 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, until the service at noon at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport. Cremation will be private.
Robert Gallagher
Manasquan resident Robert H. Gallagher, formerly of Point Pleasant, died Saturday, April 5, in Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
He was 88 years old.
Born in Trenton, he lived in Lakewood and Point Pleasant, before moving to Manasquan 58 years ago.
Mr. Gallagher owned and operated Gallagher’s TV in Brielle for 37 years before retiring in 1995. He worked prior with his dad for 20 years at PJ Gallagher & Sons, in Point Pleasant.
He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Gallagher is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marie [nee Mahoney]; three sons, Richard, of East Brunswick, James, of Neptune City, and Patrick, of New York City; two daughters, Kathi Homenick, of Bayside, Queens, N.Y. and Lynne Gallagher, of Manasquan; and four grandchildren, Kathy, Megan, Christopher and Kelly.
Cremation service was private.

Mary Ann Diehl
Lutherville, Md. Mary Ann Diehl, formerly of Mantoloking, died Thursday, April 3.
Surviving are her husband, George S. Diehl Jr.; four daughters, Cheryl Faryon and her husband, Thomas, Caroline Ferree and her partner, Kim Wiklund, Jennifer Ferree and her husband, Dan Stasz, and Elizabeth Ferree and her partner, Dan Frengel; a son, Craig Ferree and his partner, Paul Thyssen; and a sister, Frances Franecke.
She is also survived by three grandchildren, Kyle Lamont, and Linsay and Patrick Foster; four nieces and nephews, Gig, Ephraim, Hilary and Ami; and her cherished four-legged friend, Millie.
The family suggests contributions to the Church of the Redeemer, 5603 N. Charles St., Baltimore, Md., or the Maryland SPCA, 3300 Falls Road, Baltimore, Md., 21211.

Lawrence F. Mulligan
Brick resident Lawrence F. Mulligan, whose daughter resides in Point Pleasant, died away on Thursday, April 3, in Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
He was 79 years old.
Born and raised in Jersey City, he was a 1946 graduate of Dickinson High School, and had lived in Brick since 1953.
After high school, he attended the Mechanics Institute of New York City and proudly served his country as a member of the New Jersey National Guard.
For 36 years Mr. Mulligan was employed by Jersey Central Power and Light, first as a lineman in Lakewood and in 1989 retired from the real estate division, Allenhurst.
He later was employed as a bus driver for the Point Pleasant Borough Recreation Department.
He was an exempt fireman of the Breton Woods Fire Company, where he had served as treasurer, and was a member of the Brick Housing Authority, acting as secretary. He also was a member and Paul Harris Fellow of the Brick Rotary Club and was a member of the Brick Presbyterian Church.
He loved to travel and spend time with his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Nora Halligan Mulligan, in 1934 and 1971 respectively; his infant daughter in 1956; and by his sister, Evelyn Cacacie, in 1981.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his childhood sweetheart and wife of 57 years, Ethel Huseland Mulligan; his son, Larry Mulligan and his wife, Cheryl, of Brick; three daughters, Kathleen Mulligan and her husband, Paul Kemp, of Ukiah, Calif., Patricia Schroeder and her husband Jeff, of Point Pleasant, and Lorraine Johnson and her husband, Raymond, of Brick; eight grandchildren, Rachael and her husband, D.J., Meagan, Raymond, Kevin, Lauren, Ian, Erin and Connor; two great-grandchildren, Leah and Sean; and many dear friends.
Arrangements were by the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant. Interment
took place at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.

Bankston T. Brooman
Manasquan resident Bankston “Banks” T. Brooman, who has family in Point Pleasant, died on April 1.
He was 98 years old.
Born and raised in Union City, Banks was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all who knew him.
Banks, along with Hildie and son, David, were partners and owners of the Surf and Sand Restaurant, Manasquan, for 25 years, which was a favorite summer gathering place.
In the winter months, he was a commercial real estate agent.
Banks retired in 1982 and spent many winters in Sarasota, Fla. and summers at his home in Manasquan.
Banks was educated at Emerson High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University. He previously owned the College Club, a pub in North Jersey, and The Village Meat Market, in Fairlawn, where he was a butcher.
He enjoyed his work, and had a positive and joyful attitude about life.
He was always interested in politics and current events, and was a legislative aide to Senator Al Keefer. He and his wife were active members of the Elks Lodge in Manasquan where for many years he planted and maintained the flowers. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Denis Catholic Church, Manasquan.
He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Hildie, and two sons, Bankston Brooman and William Brooman.
He is survived by his loving family, daughters, Nancy Bellia and her husband, Richard, of Wall, and Leslie Barlow and her husband, Stephen, of Sea Girt; his son, David J. Brooman and his wife, Gardenia, of Ardmore, Pa.; his grandchildren, Michelle Chapman, of Wall, Danielle Hopta, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Cynthia Rumpf, of Point Pleasant, Jennifer Costanzo and her husband, Eric, of Wall, Stephanie Peduto and her husband, Eric, of Wall, Stephen Barlow and his wife, Leanne, of Wannamassa, Thomas Barlow and Christian Barlow, of Wall, David, Richard, Kyle and Luke Brooman, of Ardmore, Pa.; and, his great-grandchildren, Katie and Kevin Chapman, of Wall, Joey Sanguine, of Point Pleasant, Dylan, Christopher and Madison Costanzo, of Wall, and Ava and Massimo Peduto, of Wall.
A memorial Mass to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, May 2, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Denis Church, Route 71, in Manasquan.
