Barbara Williams Cashion
Point Pleasant resident Barbara Williams Cashion died Sunday, April 6, in Meridian Hospice at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
Born in North Carolina to the late Marvin and Pansey Williams, she had lived in Point Pleasant since the 1950s.
Mrs. Cashion was a registered nurse and had worked at Point Pleasant Hospital and later at Ocean Medical Center, where she retired after 40 years.
She had been active with the First Baptist Church, Point Pleasant Beach.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles, and by her sister, Dean Cole.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Windley, and two sons, Dane Cashion and Douglas Cashion, all of Point Pleasant. She is also survived by her brothers, Harmon Williams and Harold Williams; her sisters, Sue Tweed and Patsy Pike; five grandchildren, Michelle, Joey, Gabrielle, Joshua, and Courtney; and three great-grandchildren, Edwin, Isaiah and Nazier.
The Pable-Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant was in charge of arrangements.
Funeral services and interment will take place in North Carolina.
Helen Elaine Youngsworth Sisco
Palm Harbor, Fla. resident Helen Elaine Youngsworth Sisco, whose son resides in Point Pleasant, died on Thursday, March 14 at St. Mark’s Village, Palm Harbor.
Born in Paterson to the late Lewis and Elaine Youngworth, she had lived in Clifton and also in Brick prior to moving to Palm Harbor.
A homemaker, Mrs. Sisco was formerly a communicant of the Church of the Epiphany, Brick.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jack R. Sisco.
She is survived by her son, James R. Sisco Sr., of Point Pleasant; two grandchildren, Lt. Comdr. James R. Sisco Jr. and Jamie Lee Herbert; and two great-grandchildren, Jake and Randy.
On Friday, at 1 p.m., a committal service will be held at the chapel of the BGWCD Veterans’ Cemetery, Arneytown. Arrangements are by The Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 732-899-3300.
George J. Davala Jr.
Point Pleasant resident George J. Davala Jr. died Tuesday, April 1, in Care One at Wall.
He was 79 years old.
He was a sales clerk at Jaeger Lumber Co., Point Pleasant for over 20 years.
Mr. Davala was a veteran of World War II.
Born in Perth Amboy, he lived in Edison before moving to Point Pleasant 36 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Vivian Schenck Davala; a son, George W. and his wife, Sheril Davala, of Howell; a daughter, Lauri Davala, of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Joseph Davala, of Florida; a sister, Alice Britton, of Edison; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick.
Loretta A. Dwyer Loveland
Point Pleasant resident Loretta A. Dwyer Loveland died Tuesday, April 1.
She was 84 years old.
Loretta was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Bay Head, and the Point Pleasant Historical Society.
She enjoyed tennis, the beach in Bay Head, antique collecting, and traveling. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul, in 1995.
She is survived by three sons, Paul and his wife, Virginia, W. Vincent, Eric and Lee and his wife, Diane; a daughter, Loretta Lee Copley; and her grandchildren, Paul III, Ashley, Kristen, Paige, Troy and Ty Anderson.
The Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant was in charge of arrangements. Burial
took place in Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
Donations may be made in her name to Star Lodge Charity Fund, P. O. Box 65, Tuckahoe, 08250. Proceeds are to benefit children.
James F. Corolan Sr.
Manchester resident James F. Corolan Sr., whose brother resides in Lavallette, died Sunday, April 6, in Community Medical Center, Toms River.
He was 86 years old.
A Newark police inspector for 32 years, he retired in 1976. He enlisted in 1942 during World War II and served as a Marine sergeant on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific.
He lived in Woodbridge for 22 years before moving to Manchester in 1977. He was a member of the Superior Officers Association, Newark.
He attended General Motors Institute of Technology in Flint, Mich., and also the school of Accident Investigation at North Western University, Evanston, Ill. and subsequently formed and commanded the Accident Investigation Squad for the Newark Police Department.
He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Anna Marie, in 2002.
Mr. Corolan is survived by his four children, Ann Marie and her husband, Thomas Burdasz, of Hopelawn, Linda and her husband, Dominick Zarrillo Sr., of Brick, Joyce and Michael Cote, of Plantation, Fla., and James Jr., of Oak Ridge; a brother, John of Lavallette; four grandchildren, Dominick and Jeffrey Zarrillo, Thomas Burdasz and Jessica Carolan; and three great-grandchildren, Kayla and Samantha Zarrillo and Ashlee Bridges.
The Oliverie Funeral Home, Manchester, was in charge of arrangements. Interment
took place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River.

John Barkala
Point Pleasant resident John Barkala also of Jersey City, died Friday, April 5.
He was the beloved husband of the late Hedwig; loving father of Beverly Beilin, of Newport Beach, Calif., and John Barkala and his wife, Georgette, of Point Pleasant Beach; adoring grandfather of Robyn and Jonathan Lewis, Kristen and James Barnes, Katie Beilin and Jessica Barkala; and great-grandfather of Avery and Jordan Barnes.
Evergreen Funeral Home, Jersey City, was in charge of arrangements. Interment
took place at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
Genevieve Theresa Huzar Woodruff
Point Pleasant resident Genevieve Theresa Huzar Woodruff died Sunday, April 6, at her home in Palm Harbor, Fla., after a long illness.
Born in Elizabeth, Genny moved in the late-1940s to Point Pleasant, where she and her husband, Woody, opened the Route 88 Carvel.
Genny is survived by her children, Thomas Woodruff, Linda Pielka, Susan Woodruff, and Kim Mulligan and her husband, Robert. She also leaves five cherished grandchildren, Meghan, T.J., Michael, Erin and Matthew.
Services are private. Donations in her name may be made to hospice.
Corey J. Davis
Point Pleasant resident Corey J. Davis died Sunday, April 6, in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 56 years old.
He was a flooring installer at Century Carpet, Farmingdale, for 35 years, retiring in 2002.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Queens, N.Y., before moving to Point Pleasant 31 years ago.
He was a member of B.P.O.E., Point Pleasant Beach, and Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Point Pleasant.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Kramer Davis; his mother, Antoinette Piazza, of Brick; two daughters, Jennifer Nase, of Point Pleasant, and Christine Stierli and her husband, Ron, of Port Orange, Fla.; two brothers, Louis Davis and his wife, Diane, of Florida, and Brian Davis, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Arlene Pagliaro and her husband, John, of Melbourne, Fla., and Diane Rahn, of Brick; five grandchildren, Juliana, Nicholas, Sarah, Alexandra and Amanda; and many nieces and nephews.
Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Route 88, Brick is in charge of arrangements. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. A private cremation will follow.
Helen Adele Johnstone
Point Pleasant resident Helen Adele Johnstone died Thursday, April 3, in Claremont Care Center, Point Pleasant.
She was 88 years old.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Mary’s by the Sea Episcopal Church, Point Pleasant Beach.
Born in Newark, she lived in Toms River for 10 years before moving to Point Pleasant six years ago.
She was predeceased by her husband, Howard, in 1986; and a son, Robert Johnstone, in 2005.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth Johnstone and his wife, Helen, of Point Pleasant Beach; a sister, Theresa Kuryllo, of Cedar Grove; and five grandchildren.
Cremation was be private. Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, Point Pleasant Beach, was in charge of arrangements.
Gregory Frank “Greg” Zablocki
Point Pleasant resident Gregory Frank “Greg” Zablocki died Sunday, March 31, in the Leo Jenkins Cancer Center, Greenville, N.C.
He was 59 years old.
Greg was born April 18, 1948, in New Brunswick to Samuel and Victoria Zablocki.
He graduated from South Plainfield High School in 1966, attended Louisiana State University, and served in the National Guard.
Greg was a skilled carpenter and was the construction supervisor for WJM Custom Homes in the Sea Girt, Spring Lake and Manasquan areas. Previously, he worked as a teaching golf professional at northern New Jersey country clubs and as a bartender in Point Pleasant Beach.
Greg loved the challenges of his work and fishing off Jersey and the Florida Keys.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Mickie Zablocki, of Washington, N.C.; a niece, Alisa Brewer, of Amherst, Mass.; a nephew, Shawn Underwood, of Washington, N.C.; and seven grandnieces and grandnephews.
A memorial service will be held with family and friends at a later date.
Memorial contributions to local American Cancer Society chapters will help others battling the disease.
