Andrew Francis Edwards
Amherst, N.H. resident Andrew Francis Edwards, formerly of Sea Girt, died Thursday, Nov. 27 after a brief illness at the Southern N.H. Regional Medical Center in Nashua.
He was 72 years old.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Oct. 24, 1936, son of the late Alice Edwards.
Mr. Edwards graduated from Adelphi University and was a resident of New York and the Jersey Shore before moving to Amherst, N.H. in 2006.
He was a US Army Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a member of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Before retirement, he was a Vice President of Marketing Research and was most recently a Marketing Research Consultant.
Mr. Edwards was an avid tennis and basketball player, and he loved sailing. He was also an internationally ranked American Contract Bridge League Life Master, Teacher, and Director.
While living in Sea Girt for 30 years, he was an active member of the community. He was President of the Sea Girt Booster Club and served in the Sea Girt Fire Company as Treasurer and Driver/Engineer.
Members of his family include his wife of 41 years, Ann Edwards of Amherst, N.H., two daughters and sons-in-law, Alison and Jeremiah Fasano of Bethesda, M.D. and Jacqueline and Richard Gele of Merrimack N.H., and one granddaughter, Rowan Fasano.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the George R. Rivet Funeral Home in St. John Neumann Church in Merrimack, N.H.

Vivian Patricia “Pat” Judge
Neptune resident Vivian Patricia “Pat” Judge died Monday, December 1 in her daughter’s home in Neptune.
She was 86 years old.
Born in Newark, she lived in Elizabeth, Linden, and Roselle areas before moving to Neptune in the early 1940’s. Before becoming a homemaker in the 1950’s, Mrs. Judge worked as the personal secretary for the founder of Birdsall Engineering, and as secretary at Fort Monmouth. Retired for over 10 years, Mrs. Judge last worked for the Wall branch of the Monmouth County Library after receiving a paralegal certification at age 65.
A lifelong dancer, Mrs. Judge danced professionally with many of the leading bands of the Big Band Era, including Tommy Dorsey and Louis Prima, and was also active in community organizations such as the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 346 and the Neptune Township Senior Center. She was an active member of the St. James Episcopal Church in Bradley Beach.
Mrs. Judge was predeceased by her parents Charles W. Sumner and Vivian Marietta Sumner [Bratton], her beloved husband Marcel A. Judge in 1987, and her late life companion Nick DiNicholas in 2007.
She is survived by her devoted children Marty M. Judge and his wife Theresa of Plainsboro and Vivian M. Barone and her husband Anthony of Neptune, plus her loving grandson Christopher M. Barone of Bernardsville.
Visitation will be held today from five to eight p.m. at the Johnson-McGinley Funeral Home in Wall. Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Frank Goss of the St. James Episcopal Church of Bradley Beach presiding. Internment will follow at Monmouth Memorial Park in Tinton Falls. John E. “Jackie” Thompson
Neptune resident John E. “Jackie” Thompson who was born in Wall died Monday, Nov. 24 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
He was 79 years old.
Mr. Thompson was born in the Glendola section of Wall and remained a Shore resident his entire life. Air Cruises, of Wall Township, employed Mr. Thompson for many years as a manufacturer.
He was also an Air Force Veteran, having served in the Korean War. His friends and family will always remember Pop’s love for fishing and woodworking.
Mr. Thompson was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Gertrude Thompson, his first wife Edith and son Eddie Thompson in July 1957, his second wife Pearl Thompson in April 2007, and one daughter Jean Malteese.
He is survived by five sons, Thomas Thompson and his wife Debra of Neptune City, Joseph Thompson and his wife Susan of West Virginia, Sidney Maltese and his wife Bonnie of Maine, Lewey Cano and Jennifer of South Plainfield, and Vincent Cano of Rahway. He is also survived by three daughters, Tammy Burd and her husband Dale of Oceanport, Doris Donde and her husband Richard of New York, and Louise Dee and her husband Richard of New York. Also survived is his brother Richard Thompson and his wife June of Wall.
He was also the loving Pop-Pop to nineteen Grandchildren and eighteen Great-Grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive Mr. Thompson.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Johnson McGinley Funeral Home in Wall. Internment took place at Glendola cemetery in Wall.
Jonathan T. Hartman
Wall resident Jonathan T. Hartman died Saturday, Nov. 29 at the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was 18 years old.
He attended Old Mill Elementary School, was a 2008 graduate of Wall Township High School, and had begun his first year of studies as a communications major at Cabrini College in Radcliffe, Pa.
During high school, he was employed at Mike’s Deli in Wall. He was a former Cub Scout, played on South Wall Little League and was a member of the Atlantic Club Swim Team for many years.
He was also a communicant of All Saints Episcopal Church in Bay Head.
He loved listening to music, playing his guitar, skateboarding, going to the beach, surfing, snowboarding, and hanging out with friends. Jonathan’s smile and good nature touched many lives. He has an abundance of friends and was well liked by everyone. He will truly be missed by all.
Jonathan was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Sara Elizabeth and George William Hartman.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Lori Hartman of Wall, his sister Lauren C. Hartman, currently at home, his maternal grandparents Jon and Marguerite Zschiegner of Manasquan and Marco Island Fla. He also leaves his aunt and uncle Stephen and Babette Zschiegner of Wall, his aunt Barbara J. Hartman of Wall, his uncle William J. Hartman of Lake Como, and numerous cousins. He will also be missed by his dog, Nelly.
Visitation will be at the O’Brien Funeral Home in Wall on Friday, Dec. 5 from 4-9 p.m. A funeral mass is offered Saturday, Dec. 6 at 10:30 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church in Bay Head, followed by committal at Atlantic View cemetery in Manasquan.

Verena Zwimpfer Fox
Manasquan resident Verena Zwimpfer Fox died Monday, Dec. 1 at the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune.
She was 80 years old.
Mrs. Fox was CEO of Fox Equipment Company in Wall until she retired in 2003. Born in Wolhusen, Switzerland, she came to the United States in 1953 and settled in Queens, N.Y. She then lived in Cranford and Colts Neck before moving to Manasquan 10 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Martha’s RC Church in Point Pleasant and enjoyed volunteering at the Monmouth and Ocean County Food Bank.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert Fox in 1992 and by her brother Ruedi Zwimpfer.
Surviving her are her son James A. Fox and his wife Laura Groom of West Hurley, N.Y., four daughters Barbara Ahern and her husband Kevin of Seattle, Wash., Virginia Fox Schulman and her husband Glen of Point Pleasant, Margaret Fox of Old Bridge, Emily Bernier and her husband Mark of New Egypt, five brothers Hans, Peter, Moritz, Ueli, and Kari Zwimpfer all of Switzerland, a sister Bibit Kleeb-Zwimpfer also of Switzerland, and four grandchildren John and Thomas Ahern, Jennifer Fox, and Zachary Schulman.
Visiting will take place today from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the O’Brien Funeral Home in Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be offered Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Martha’s RC Church in Pt. Pleasant. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Monmouth and Ocean County Food Bank, 3300 Route 66, Neptune 07753.
Marjorie Elaine Albers-Iannelli
Sea Girt resident Marjorie Elaine Albers-Iannelli died Monday, Nov. 24 at the Care One Center in Wall.
She was 83 years old.
Born in East Orange, she lived there and in Manasquan before moving to Sea Girt 13 years ago.
Mrs. Albers-Iannelli was a graduate of Clifford J. Scott High School in East Orange and was a member of the Scotties Sorority.
She worked as a model for John Robert Powers Modeling Agency in Manhattan and then for Bell Laboratories Intelligence Unit during World War II.
She was an amazing cook and baker. She loved the beach, gardening, and was a gifted seamstress.
She was predeceased by her parents Irma and Arthur Albers of East Orange, and her husband Jerry Michael Ianelli of Manasquan.
Mrs. Albers-Iannelli is survived by two sons, Ernest Gsell and his wife Lorraine of Livingston, and Bruse Gsell and his wife Dr. Adriana Gullotta-Gsell of Rumson. She is also survived by three daughters, Gaye Madigan and her husband Thomas, Lisa Iannelli, and Joyce Iannelli, all of Sea Girt. Also survived are six grandchildren, Christopher, Susan, David, Kevin, Jennifer, and Kristen, as well as four great-grandchildren, William, Colton, Kate, and Dylan.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Neary Quinn Funeral Home in Manasquan. Internment took place St. Ann’s cemetery in Wall.
Judith Sabia
Avon resident Judith Sabia died Sunday, Nov. 30 at King Manor Care Center in Neptune.
She was 86 years old.
Born in Elizabeth, she has lived in Avon since 1964.
She has worked as an O.R. room Nurse at Elizabeth General Medical Center and retired in 1975 from Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
She was a member of the Avon United Methodist Church and belonged to the Avon Women’s Club.
She was predeceased by her husband George in 1998 and her son Ronald William in 1976.
Surviving are her son Kenneth George Sabia of Avon, a sister Catharine Coppa of Elizabeth, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Reilly Funeral Home in Belmar. Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at the Avon Methodist Church, Corner of 5th and Garfield Ave. Internment will be at Posedale cemetery in Linden.
Elizabeth A. Bruce
Wall resident Elizabeth A. Bruce died Tuesday, Nov. 25 at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick.
She was 79 years old.
Mrs. Bruce was born in Point Pleasant Beach. She lived in Brick before moving to Wall 43 years ago. She was a homemaker.
Predeceased by her husband Stuart in 2004, her son Robert in 1997, her brothers Philip “Sonny” Conaty, John “Jack” Conaty, sister Virginia Hess, and a grandson Jonathan.
Surviving her are her son Mark and his wife Deborah of Tinton Falls, daughter Susan of Tinton Falls, and her grandsons Matthew and Samuel.
Funeral arrangements were handled by O’Brien Funeral Home in Wall, with burial held privately at St. Anne’s cemetery.
