Stephen E. Vacchaiano
Wall Township resident Stephen E. Vacchaiano passed away on, Sunday August 24, 2008 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, surrounded by his family.
Born in Neptune, he lived in Asbury Park before coming to Wall in 1955.
Mr. Vacchiano was a self employed real estate developer and builder, most notable for his development of the Colfax Plaza in Wall Township.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of the Free and Accepted Masons and was an avid golfer.
He was predeceased by his parents, James and Rose Infanto Vacchiano and his sister, Philomena Vacchiano.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Joan Herbert Vacchiano, his sons, Ted Vacchiano and his wife Linda, Robert Vacchiano and his wife Alicia, his daughters, Lynda Burdge and her husband Richard, Cindy Groves and her husband William and his grandchildren, Tammy, Tiffany and Thomas Burdge, Robert, Evan and Joseph Vacchiano, Stephanie, Tina and William Groves, and Danielle, Jessica and Paul Vacchiano. He also leaves his brothers, Frank and Nick Vacchiano and his sisters, Marie Warren and Julie Vacchiano.
The O’Brien Funeral Home Wall is in charge of arrangements. Burial
took place at Monmouth Memorial Park Tinton Falls.

Joseph Charles Calton- Henehan
Neptune resident Joseph Charles Calton-Henehan, formerly of Belmar died Sunday, Aug. 24.
He was 20 years old.
Born in Jersey City, he was a life long resident of Belmar before moving to Neptune recently.
He was a graduate of Manasquan High School and was attending Brookdale Community College.
He worked for the Essex and Sussex in Spring Lake as a concierge. He was a volunteer at the Union Fire Company in Belmar. He loved sports especially basketball, soccer and baseball.
Joey will be remembered for his infectious smile, his red eyelashes and his ability to make people laugh. He had a heart of gold but never passed up the opportunity to pull off a good prank. Joey was truly committed to giving back to the community.
He was a member and communicant of St. Rose Church.
Surviving are his father Joseph C. Henehan and his wife Janet of Neptune, his mother Patricia Calton and her fiance Kurk Frye of Belmar, one brother, Arthur of Matawan, three sisters, Tiffany, Colleen and Janet Calton of Belmar, his maternal grandmother Christine Calton, his paternal grandparents, Kathleen and Bob DiMeola, two stepsisters, Jessika Jalalon, Raychel Frye, one stepbrother, Michael Fort, six uncles, five aunts and 23 cousins.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Aug. 28 from 1 to 4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Reilly Funeral Home 801 D. Street, Belmar. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated at St. Rose Church at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Interment
will be at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.

Ruth E. Mahon Oberg
Wall Township resident Ruth E. Mahon Oberg died Friday, June 20.
She was 82 years old.
She was born in East Orange and later moved to the Brielle-Wall area.
An entrepreneur for more than 45 years, Mrs. Oberg owned and operated the Dinner Bell Restaurant in Brielle from 1945 to 1955, the Windswept Motel in Point Pleasant from 1955 to 1978, and the Ruth Oberg Gallery in Sea Girt from 1978 to 1988.
“Ruthie” and “Mom Mom”, as she was lovingly referred ti by friends and family, was an acid gardener antique and art collector.
Interested in art her whole life, Mrs. Oberg was a long term member of the Edna Hibel Art Society, Palm Beach, Fla.
She was predeceased in death by her husband, Edgar Carlton Oberg and her daughter Judy Winterstella.
Mrs. Oberg is survived by her daughter, Sherry Oberg and her husband Gunther Jock, two grandchildren Trey and Lauren Razzetti and her husband Richard, Kristen Breitweiser, three grandchildren Trey and Lauren Razzetti and Caroline Breitweiser, a nephew Ron Mahon and wife Diana, a great niece, Tempe Mahon and a great nephew, Thor Mahon.
Ruthie’s family acknowledges with sincere thanks the enduring, compassionate care she received from Dr. Mori Schwartberg, Neptune and Dr. Michael Findura of Wall.
A private graveside ceremony is planned for fall.
Edna Laurette Foran
Wall Township resident Edna Laurette Foran died on August 21st, at the Claremont Care Center in Point Pleasant.
She was 95 years old.
Born in Newark she summered in Belmar and Sea Girt for many years before moving to Wall in 1969. Mrs. Foran worked as an Administrative Secretary for the City of Newark Fire Department for 41 years before retiring in 1975.
A communicant of Holy Innocents Church in Neptune, she was known to everyone as Aunt Edna, blood relative or not she welcomed everyone into her home.
Predeceased by her beloved husband John E. Foran in 1983, her sisters Doris Swerida of Wall, Marie Darnell of Brick, and her brother Frederick Dooley of Sea Girt. Also waiting for her at the rainbow bridge are her five “Patrick’s”.
Mrs. Foran is survived by her sister Florence Walter, of Auburn, New York, and her many, many nieces and nephews.
The Johnson-McGinley Funeral Home, Wall was in charge of arrangements. Interment
took place at St. Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt.

Arthur E. Flynn
Brielle resident Arthur E. Flynn, formerly of Bay Head, died Thursday, Aug. 14, in his home.
He was 73 years old.
Mr. Flynn was born in Boston, Mass. and lived in New York City. He summered in Bay Head for many years before moving there full-time in 1980.
Mr. Flynn was a private investor on Wall Street before retiring in 2000.
He was a lieutenant in the Navy, serving three years active duty on Nantucket, Mass., Key West, Fla., and San Salvador.
Mr. Flynn graduated from Boston College in 1957, and established the Anna Maloney Flynn Scholarship fund in honor of his mother, which benefits the children of Bay Head, Nantucket and Back Bay, Boston.
He was predeceased by his brother, Nicholas Flynn, earlier this spring.
He is survived by his two daughters, Tracy Kennedy Flynn of San Francisco, and Kerry Kennedy Flynn of Nantucket, Mass.; and was Pops to Giang Flynn. He was a loving uncle to Brian, Sheila and Stephen Flynn and Martin McDonough and their families. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Barbara Flynn. He had an extended family of Flynns whom he loved dearly.
Arrangements were handled by the Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, Point Pleasant Beach. Interment
will be private.

Erik B. Andersen, P.E.
Sea Girt resident Erik B. Andersen, whose daughter resides in Point Pleasant, died on Wednesday, Aug. 13 in his home.
He was 74 years old.
Mr. Andersen was born in Manhattan and lived in Maplewood before moving to Sea Girt in 1980.
Erik met his wife, Abby, in Maplewood Junior High School, and they have been married
for 51 years. He was a graduate of Columbia High School and Stevens Institute of Technology, where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering.
Erik, who spent most of his career in the air conditioning industry, was employed as a facility management engineer with the Worthington Corp., East Orange, where he developed two patents.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany.
Erik loved the beach and was known by many as an avid body surfer.
Surviving are his wife, Abigail Miller Andersen; his children, Jeane Baum and her husband, Robert Jr., of Howell, Chris Andersen, of Wall, and Ellen Criscuolo and her husband, John, of Point Pleasant; his brother, Nils Andersen, of Florida; and eight grandchildren, Robert III, Kristen, Derek, Rachael, Abby, Erika, Christopher and Tyler.
Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan, was in charge of arrangements.
Victor J. Bruzek Jr.
Point Pleasant resident Victor J. Bruzek Jr. died Tuesday, Aug. 12, in Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
He was 89 years old.
He was a truck driver, employed by S & H Green Stamps, East Brunswick, for 20 years, retiring in 1981.
Victor was born in Astoria, N.Y., and lived in Old Bridge prior to moving to Point Pleasant in 1985.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the rank Tech. 5. He joined the Army on Feb. 2, 1937, and was stationed at Fort Hancock in New Jersey. After being discharged on Feb. 20, 1940, he worked at Raritan Arsenal as an explosive operator, making ammunition.
Mr. Bruzek was a member of St. Peter’s Church, Point Pleasant Beach.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lena A., in 2006.
He is survived by his sons, Victor Bruzek, of Wall, Kenneth J. Bruzek, of Ellicott City, Md., and Wayne J. Bruzek, of Wrightstown; his brother, Amos Bruzek, of Lakewood; a sister, Camille Bolcer, of Fort Worth, Texas; and four grandchildren, Laura, Matthew, Stephanie and Jennifer.

took place at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
