Dawn Ellen Boettke
Point Pleasant resident Dawn Ellen Boettke died Saturday, Aug. 16, in Ocean Medical Center, Brick Township.
She was 55 years old.
Born in Union City, she lived in Brick prior to moving to Point Pleasant in 1994.
She was a graduate of Brick High School and Ocean County College. She was employed as a floral cashier for ShopRite of Freehold.
She was predeceased by a sister, Joan.
Dawn is survived by her husband, Fred Boettke; two sons, Chris and Kyle Boettke; a daughter, Dana Boettke and her fiance, Edward Nemeth; two brothers, Robert and Walter “Butch” Reinhardt; and a sister, Alice Williams.
Arrangements were under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Route. 88, Brick.
Cremation was private.

Wanda Mary Sudol Lloyd
Point Pleasant Beach resident Wanda Mary Sudol Lloyd died Thursday, Aug. 14, in her home.
She was 96 years old.
She was owner and operator of Gold Star Restaurant and Tavern, Paterson, and the Gay 90’s restaurant in Saddleboro, and Lloyd’s Luncheonette, Bay Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach.
She was born in Peabody, Mass., and grew up in Wallington, lived in Montclair, and summered in Point Pleasant Beach for 56 years, before residing there permanently for 36 years.
Mrs. Lloyd was a member of the Glorious Years in St. Peter’s Church, Point Pleasant Beach and also the Deborah Chapter in Point Pleasant Beach. She was a member of the Christian Science Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Lloyd, on Dec. 1, 1977.
She is survived by her daughters, Verity Harriston, of Stonington, Conn., Stephanie Gurgo and her husband, Michael, of Point Pleasant Beach, and Deborah Klein and her husband, William, of Morrisville, Pa.; nine grandchildren, Stanley Albers, Stephanie Toland, Tamara Bailey, Ryan Harriston, Michael Lloyd Gurgo, Eric Lloyd Gurgo, William Lloyd Klein, Gretchen Ann Klein and Kristine Klein Bojko; and three great-grandchildren, Sawyer Lloyd Bailey, Eden Eliza Bailey and McKenna May Gurgo.
Arrangements were handled by Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, Point Pleasant Beach. Burial
took place at St Michael’s Cemetery, Lodi.
David Hill
Brielle resident David Hill, formerly of Point Pleasant Beach, died peacefully in his home on Saturday, July 19.
He was 64 years old.
Born in Orange, he had lived in Point Pleasant Beach and had resided in Brielle for 17 years.
He graduated in 1961 from Manasquan High School and from Gettysburg College in 1965.
Mr. Hill was the president of Hilman, Inc., Marlboro.
He was predeceased by his mother, Jean Gebhardt Hill.
Surviving to cherish his memory are three sons, David Hill Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Needham, Mass., Jeffrey R. Hill and Christopher T. Hill and his wife, Lisa, all of Point Pleasant; his father, Norman Hill and his wife, Thelma, of Vero Beach, Fla.; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Robin Gillett, of Union and Nancy and Bruce Wasserman, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Zoe, Maya, Taylor and Ryan; his former wife, Lauretta Ayers and her husband, Robert, of Toms River; and many dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, July 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hilman, Inc., 12 Timber Lane, Marlboro, to share their fondest memories and celebrate a life well lived.

Stanley Lisowski
Brick resident Stanley L. Lisowski, whose son lives in Point Pleasant, died on Friday, July 18 in his home with his loving wife of 68 years at his bedside.
He was 87 years old.
For health reasons, in 2003, he moved back to Brick after living in Largo, Fla. for numerous years. Prior to that, he was a resident of Colonia.
He retired from Bobst Champlain in 1982, where he worked as a field service representative, a job and company that he truly loved.
Other than work, his main source of enjoyment was working on his fishing equipment and peddling his finished products at the flea markets in Florida.
He was a United States Navy veteran, and a member of the VFW.
He was predeceased by his eldest son, Stanley R. Lisowski in 2005.
Stan is survived by his wife, Cecelia; his son, Paul D. Lisowski and his wife, Patricia, of Point Pleasant, and their sons, Jeffrey and Bryan; his daughter-in-law, Joan Lisowski, of Wall, and her three children, Stash, Steven and Scott Lisowski; as well as eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Meridian Hospice, 732-751-3750.

William J. 'Billy' Reese
Clearwater, Fla. resident William J. 'Billy' Reese, formerly of Point Pleasant Beach, died Tuesday, July 8, in his home after a long battle with a brain tumor.
He was 44 years old.
He was born in Point Pleasant and was raised in Point Pleasant Beach. He attended Point Pleasant Beach High School. He moved to Clearwater, Fla., in 1982.
He owned and operated The Perfection Connection Auto Body Shop, retiring when he became ill.
He is survived by his parents, George and Kay Reese, of Princess Anne, Md.; his twin brother, Bob, of Florida; his sisters, Kimberly Kadeg, of Point Pleasant, and Colleen Ferrante and her husband, Mario, of Brick; his nephew, Thomas Ferrante; his nieces, Caitlin Ferrante, Brianne Kadeg and Nicole Reese; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins, along with many friends in Florida and New Jersey.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will forever live in our hearts.

Dorothy Marie Faraldi
Former Point Pleasant resident Dorothy Marie Faraldi died peacefully surrounded by her family Friday, July 18, after a short illness.
She was born in North Bergen and was a graduate of St. Michael's High School, Union City, and Washington Business School, New York City. Dorothy loved her job as the costume director for Milton Berle's Texaco Star Theatre on NC.
After moving to Point Pleasant in 1954, she was a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Point Pleasant Fire Company No. 2 and a den mother of Cub Scout Pack 16. She was an avid supporter of the Boy Scout of America Troop 40 and served as a hostess for the American Field Service program, at Point Pleasant Borough High School.
In 1972, Dorothy's family moved to Huntington, N.Y., where she became involved with the Montauk Captains Association, the North Shore Animal League and the Boys and Girls Town of Italy.
Dorothy loved to travel, was an avid antiquer and a NASCAR fan, but closest to her heart was the village of Colonial Williamsburg, where she was a member of the foundation.
To all who had the pleasure of knowing her, she will be remembered as a beautiful woman, gracious hostess and, above all, as an optimist with a great sense of humor.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, James and Rose Manalio; her grandson, Christopher Faraldi; and her sister, Barbara Manalio.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Albert; her sons, Albert, of Point Pleasant, James, of Cohoes, N.Y., and Russell, of Los Angeles; her brother, James Manalio of Hunter, N.Y.; her grandsons, Rob, Jamie and Nicholas Faraldi. Dorothy was a wonderful mother-in-law to Claudia Faraldi and Michele Faraldi and was looking forward to the wedding of her grandson, Jamie, to Geraldine Sultana next month.
The family wishes to express its appreciation to the nurses and doctors of the intensive care unit of Huntington Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion.
The Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, Northport, N.Y., was in charge of arrangements. Interment
took place at Hope Cemetery, Lakewood.

Carole Grum Fitzgerald
Brick resident Carole Grum Fitzgerald, whose sister lives in Point Pleasant Beach, died Sunday, July 20, in Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
She was 64 years old.
She was born in Newark and was raised in Florham Park and lived in Morganville before moving to Brick 23 years ago.
Mrs. Fitzgerald was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima First Saturday Group and enjoyed traveling, shopping and talking on the telephone.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was predeceased by her husband of 13 years, Francis Fitzgerald, in 1988.
She is survived by a son, Sean M. and his spouse, Chauncey, of Absecon; a daughter, Deirdre A. Sosnicki and her spouse, Christopher, of Brick; two sisters, Nancy Tomlinson and her spouse, Joe, of Point Pleasant Beach, and Judy Crox and her spouse, Harry, of Minnesota; four grandchildren, Katie, Cole, Samantha and Claire; several nieces and nephews, including Jeannie and Lorrie; and many other loving family members and friends.
The O'Brien Funeral Home, Brick, was in charge of arrangements. Burial
took place at St. Catharine's Cemetery, Wall.

Richard T. Blake
Point Pleasant resident Richard T. Blake died peacefully at his home on Monday, July 21.
He was 68 years old.
Born in Orange, to the late Edward J. and Florence Britton Blake, he had lived in West Orange, residing in Point Pleasant since 1966.
He received his bachelor's degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, and earned his master's degree from Seton Hall University, South Orange.
In 1966 Mr. Blake began his career in education teaching and retired as principal of the Point Pleasant Borough High School in 1999. During this time he was involved with swimming pool and other construction.
He was currently a member of both the Point Pleasant Borough Board of Education and the recreation commission; was an avid hunter and fisherman; and was a communicant of the Church of Saint Martha.
He was predeceased by his brother, Robert E. Blake.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, of 46 years, Mary Lou Fennelly Blake; his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mike Byington and his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Candy Blake, all of Point Pleasant; five grandchildren, Brian, Abby, Shea, Casey and Megan; and many colleagues and dear friends.
