ESTHER R. MENNELLA ROSCHER, 78, of Eatontown died May 22 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided there until moving to Eatontown 10 years ago. Mrs. Roscher was an insurance underwriter for Continental Insurance Co., New York City. She served with the U.S. Army during World War II. She was a member and past commander of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post, Brooklyn, N.Y. She was also selected to be on the honor guard during a visit by Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt in New York City. Mrs. Roscher was predeceased by her husband, William, who died in 1976; and by two brothers, Buddy and Louis Mennella. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Tom Rule of Little Silver, and Eileen A. and James Cahill of Rumson; a brother, Joseph Mennella of Dix Hills, N.Y.; two sisters, Gloria DeSantola of Little Silver and Anne Dalton of Staten Island, N.Y.; and five grandchildren. HENRY "HANK" A. DEININGER, 76, of Brick died May 25 at Brick Hospital. Born in New York City, he lived in Sea Bright and Rumson before moving to Brick 13 years ago. Mr. Deininger was a driver for Detail Doctor, Shrewsbury, the past two years. Prior to that, he was a custodian for the Colts Neck School System, retiring seven years ago. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. Mr. Deininger was a past volunteer fireman for Oceanic Hook and Ladder, Rumson. He was a member of the Colts Neck School Retirees Association. His hobbies included music, dancing and reading. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Deininger. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Henry R. and Joan Deininger of Highlands; two daughters and sons-in-law, Charise I. and Brad Renner of Sea Bright, and Julie and Shawn Gatta of West Long Branch; a sister, Jean Fricault of Maspeth, N.Y.; his companion, Sandy Bland of Brick; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. VINCENT C. DeMAIO, 79, of the River Plaza section of Middletown died June 2 in Red Bank. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Matawan and Fayetteville, Ark., prior to moving to River Plaza in 1951. He opened his own law firm, DeMaio & DeMaio, in 1964. Prior to that, he was a partner in the firm of Heuser, Heuser & DeMaio, a lecturer at Seton Hall University School of Law, Newark, and an associate professor at law at the University of Arkansas School of Law. He served as the Middletown Township Democratic Party Leader, as well as Township Attorney. He was former president of the Matawan Chamber of Commerce, former treasurer of the Monmouth Bar Foundation, and served as legal counsel for numerous school districts and Boards of Education. His community activities included serving as an Explorer Scout Troop Leader and Little League Baseball coach. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jo Anne Pels DeMaio of River Plaza; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Theresa J. DeMaio and Charles Turner of Washington, D.C.; Deborah C. Maciewicz of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township; and Catharine M. and Thomas O達rien of O巽allon, Mo.; two sons and daughters-in-law, David A. and Teresa DeMaio of Barnegat, and Andrew J. and Deborah DeMaio of Holmdel; his sister, Sadie DeMaio of Matawan; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. MARGE J. HOLLAND, 69, of Middletown died June 3 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, she resided there until moving to Middletown 50 years ago. She was a secretary for Sears, Middletown, for 25 years. Prior to that, she worked for ShopRite, Middletown. She was a communicant of St. Catherine痴 Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. She was a volunteer for Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel, as well as a supporter of the American Cancer Society. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Doreen Holland of Rumson; her step-grandson, Keith Mazurek Jr.; and her step-granddaughter, Michele Mazurek. BARBARA K. BUTASH, 56, of Manalapan died June 6 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, after a battle with cancer. Born in Scranton, Pa., she lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Manalapan 30 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan. She is survived by her husband, Stephen; a son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Andrea of Aberdeen; a daughter, Anisa Butash of Tinton Falls; and a twin brother, E. John Fedor of York, Pa. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.
THOMAS B. O達RIEN, 74, of Hazlet died June 12 at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Hazlet. Born in Hazlet, he lived most of his life in Keansburg before moving to Hazlet three years ago. He was a switchman for N.J. Bell System, Middletown, for 33 years, retiring in 1986. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a founding member and ex-deputy mayor of the Keansburg Borough Council, a founding member and member of the Keansburg Municipal Utilities Authority, and also served on the Keansburg Planning and Zoning Boards. He was a life exempt member of the New Point Comfort Fire Company, Keansburg, and ex-chief of the Keansburg Fire Department. He was also a member of the Keansburg Board of Education, and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene O達rien. He is survived by his former wife, Joan Clark O達rien of Hazlet; two daughters, Kathleen J. Pfleger of Middletown, and Pegeen Commiso of Pine Beach; two sons, Thomas O達rien of Middletown, and Timothy O達rien of Shrewsbury; three brothers, William O達rien of Jackson, Edward O達rien of Everett, Wash., and Richard O達rien of Cullowhee, N.C.; and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be June 14 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-7:30 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m.
DONNA DAVIS "BEBE" MAZZUCCA, 67, of Middletown died June 21 at home. Born in Boone, Iowa, she lived in Galesburg, Ill., Little Silver and Tinton Falls prior to moving to Middletown recently. She was a homemaker. Prior to that, she was a secretary at Fort Monmouth for several years. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Her activities included volunteering at Riverview Medical Center, spending time with her family, cooking, gardening and photography.
