Mary Yeager-Marchand
New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and Brielle resident Mary Yeager-Marchand, whose daughter lives in Point Pleasant Beach, died Wednesday, April 17 in Florida.
She was 74 years old.
Born in Hillside, Mrs. Yeager-Marchand lived in Toms River before moving to Brielle and New Smyrna Beach, Fla.
She was employed as a nurse when she lived in Toms River.
She enjoyed spending days on the water with her family, clamming and crabbing, loved the beach, and her animals, especially her Reggie. She was proud of her grandchildren, and they will truly miss her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Owen “Spike” Marchand, a former member of the Manasquan River Golf Club, Brielle, and her parents, Harry W. and Eva Yeager.
Surviving are one daughter, Joanne C. Hesse, Point Pleasant Beach; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gary Hesse, New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and Stephen and Mary Hesse, Janesville, Wisc.; two brothers, Dr. Richard J. Yeager, Mantoloking, and Harry Yeager, Toms River; three grandchildren, Dean R. Esposito and his wife Lisa, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Jeffrey and Emily Hesse, Janesville, Wisc.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were from the Settle-Wilder Funeral Home and Cremation Service, New Smyrna Beach, Fla. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 13 in Sacred Heart Church, Bay Head.

Thomas B. Smith Jr.
Point Pleasant resident Thomas B. Smith Jr. died Thursday, April 20 in Ocean County Medical Center, Brick Township.
Born in Jersey City, Mr. Smith was raised in Maplewood and lived in Bernardsville, Short Hills and Mantoloking before moving to Point Pleasant five years ago.
He apprenticed as a carpenter with Zwigard Construction Co., Millburn, before establishing Smith Construction Co. He retired as a consultant with J.R. Prisco Inc., Summit.
He was a member of Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church, and a former member of Community Congregational Church, Short Hills.
He was involved in the building trades and served on the Board of Associated General Contractors of America, and the Building Contractors Association of New Jersey.
He was a US Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He was predeceased in 2005 by his beloved wife, Carol Smith.
Surviving are one son, Thomas B. III, Livingston; three daughters and one son-in-law, Karen A. and Jim Billington, Bridgewater, Donna R. Smith, Herndon, Va., and Wendy Smith, Summit; one sister, Ruth Kennison, Acton, Mass.; and three grandchildren, Aimee, Robert and Christopher.

Donald DenBleyker
Point Pleasant and Machiasport, Maine, resident Donald DenBleyker died Monday, April 24 in his home in Point Pleasant, surrounded by his family.
He was 71 years old.
Born in Avenel, Mr. DenBleyker lived in Manalapan before moving to Point Pleasant 23 years ago. He spent four months each year in Machiasport.
He was employed for 34 years with PSE&G, retiring as a shift supervisor in 1994.
He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving in the Korean War.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening.
He was a beloved husband, and loving father, brother, grandfather and friend.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Janet Foster DenBleyker; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Jodi, Frenchtown, and David and Darcy, Eatontown; one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and John Jacobson, Point Pleasant; two brothers and one sister-in-law, John, South Portland, Maine, and Robert and Beverly, Blairsville, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Hannah, Robert, Matthew, John and Thomas.
Funeral arrangements are from the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant. A service to commemorate his life will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the funeral home.

Robert F. Maas
Brick Township resident Robert “Bob” F. Maas, formerly of Mantoloking, died Thursday, April 20 in Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
He was 82 years old.
Born in Newark, Mr. Maas lived in Roseland and Parsippany before moving to Mantoloking in 1973, and then to Brick. He wintered in Vero Beach, Fla., for the last 18 years.
He was a 1951 cum laude graduate of Drew University.
He was employed with Curtis Wright, Wayne, and International House, New York City. From 1978 to 1998, Mr. Maas and his wife owned the R. F. Maas Real Estate Agency, Bay Head, retiring in 1998.
He was a member of the Church in Brielle.
He was a member of the Bay Head Yacht Club and the Durrand Masonic Lodge, Point Pleasant Beach.
He wa an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving on a B-17.
A devoted husband, family man and patriot, Bob loved the ocean, the Yankees and gardening at his home in Princeton Commons.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Erna McKeon and Viola Stagg.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Betty V. Fischbach Maas; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Scott, Jeff and Kathie, and Todd and Laurie; one daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Rip Warendorf; six grandchildren, Ryan, Casey, Alexandria, Peter, Holly and Luke.

Lowell P. Wolf
Point Pleasant Beach resident Lowell P. Wolf died Sunday, April 23 in Ocean Medical Center, Brick Township.
He was 67 years old.
Born in New York City, Mr. Wolf lived in South Orange before moving to Point Pleasant Beach 12 years ago.
He was a principle partner and joint owner of Clifton, Tellor and Wolf Associates, Napperville, Ill., a labor relations consulting firm.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and served in Germany and in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division from 1960-1967, for which he received a Bronze Star.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Schweitzer Wolf; four sons, Gregory H., Westfield, Spencer H., Rowley, Mass., Noel A., Morris Township; and Barret A., Boston; and five grandchildren, Jakob, Ari, James, Kaitlyn and Liam.

Regina Riley
Spring Lake Heights resident Regina Riley, whose son lives in Point Pleasant, died Thursday, April 20 in Sunnyside Manor, Wall Township.
She was 89 years old.
Born in Long Branch, Mrs. Riley lived most of her life in the Elmora section of Elizabeth, before retiring to The Arbor’s, Spring Lake Heights, five years ago.
She was a member of St. Genevieve’s Church, Elizabeth, where she was an active member of the Catholic Women’s Club, the Rosary Society, the leisure group, and was an active parent volunteer with the CYO organization.
She became a Gold Star Mother in 1968 when her son, Warrant Officer Richard S. Riley Jr, was killed in the Vietnam War.
Mrs. Riley enjoyed life and loved to dance, and always was the life of the party. She will be remembered for her generous, devoted and caring nature, her outgoing and friendly personality and her love of shopping. She enjoyed travel, and loved the Jersey Shore.
She was predeceased in 1996 by her husband, Richard S. Riley Sr.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory and Nancy, Warren, and Kevin and Denyse, Point Pleasant; one daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Brian Miller, West Caldwell; and seven grandchildren, Christopher, Catherine and Devin Miller, and Sean, Brendan, Meghan Jean and Matthew Riley.

John C. Travali
Manchester resident John C. Travali, whose son lives in Point Pleasant, died Friday, April 21 in his home.
He was 83 years old.
Born in Bronx, N.Y., Mr. Travali lived in Brick Township, and in Lakewood for 21 years, before moving to Leisure Knoll in Manchester five years ago.
He was the owner/operator for 50 years of Air & Electric Tool Service, Kenilworth, before selling the business and retiring in 1994.
He was a communicant of St Mary of the Lake Church, Lakewood, serving as Eucharistic minister for the hospital and nursing home ministries.
He was a member of the Leisure Knoll Italian-American Club.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Patricia Melone Travali; one son, Richard Travali, Point Pleasant; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Walter Brostow, Lanoka Harbor, and Linda Travali and Robert Ennis, Brick; one stepson and daughter-in-law, Victor and Rebecca Fileppi, Heiskell, Tenn; one stepdaughter, Christine Werner, Piscataway; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Clara Travali, Fishkill, N.Y.; and 13 grandchildren.
