Barbara A. Stuzynski
Bay Head resident Barbara A. Azzaretti Stuzynski died Tuesday, April 18, in Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville.
She was 66 years old.
Born in New York City, Mrs. Stuzynski lived in Glen Ridge before moving to Bay Head 15 years ago.
She was employed for 13 years as an elementary school teacher with Patrick Healy Elementary School, East Orange, retiring in 2003, and was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Bay Head.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph F. Stuzynski; two sons, Marc, Bedford, Mass., and Christopher, Baltimore; two daughters, Ava Jacquemot, New Hope, Pa., and Allison Stuzynski, Brooklyn Heights, N.Y., and six grandchildren, Skylar Garvey, Jake Jacquemot, and Isabella, Jack, Brooke and Blake Stuzynski.
Funeral arrangements were from the Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, Point Pleasant Beach.

Alice K. Betts
Freehold Township resident Alice K. Betts, whose daughter lives in Point Pleasant, died Thursday, April 20, in her home.
She was 68 years old.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Betts lived in Freehold for over 60 years.
She was employed for 23 years as a payroll manager with the Daily Racing Form, Hightstown, retiring 11 years ago.
She was a member of Faith Evangelical Free Church, Freehold.
She was predeceased in 1980 by her husband, David G. Betts, and in 1989 by her grandson, Steven Edward Vogel.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Lesa Cappabianca, Springfield, Mass.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Nancy Clayton, Point Pleasant, and Kathy and Edward Vogel, Bayville, Berkeley; one brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Bernice Kotza, Freehold; two half-brothers, David Kacedon and his wife, Carolyn, Jackson, and Thomas Kacedon and his wife, Sandra, Union; and six grandchildren.

John W. Rabito Sr.
Point Pleasant resident John W. Rabito Sr. died Wednesday, April 19, in Ocean Medical Center, Brick Township.
He was 79 years old.
Born in Fair Haven, Mr. Rabito lived in Red Bank before moving to Brick 40 years ago, and then to Point Pleasant.
He was employed for 45 years as a master plumber with FV Verange Inc., Middletown, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of the local plumbing organization.
Surviving are one son, John W. Jr., Toms River; one daughter, Judy Nash, Leesburg, Fla.; one brother, Samuel Rabito, of Arizona; two sisters, Eleanor Paterson, Middletown, and Gloria Accera, Long Branch; seven grandchildren, Jonathan and Shannon Rabito, and Robert, Karen, Jennifer, Veronica and Ronald; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were from the Colonial Funeral Home, Brick.
Dorothy Havlusch
Point Pleasant Beach resident Dorothy Betz Havlusch died Monday, April 24, in her daughter’s home in Brick Township.
She was 84 years old.
Born in Irvington, Mrs. Havlusch lived in Sayreville before moving to Point Pleasant Beach 50 years ago.
She was a homemaker, and a devoted wife, beloved mother, loving sister, and cherished grandmother.
She was predeceased in 2000 by her husband, Edward Havlusch.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Brenda Havlusch, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Havlusch, Point Pleasant Beach, Diane and Raymond Fort, Cape Coral, Fla., formerly of Manasquan, and Susan Hill, Brick; one brother, Fred Betz, Outer Banks, N.C.; one sister, Alma Paglarigan, Point Pleasant Beach; six grandchildren, Todd Neis, Timothy and Doug Havlusch, Kyle and Kolby Fort, and Grey Hill; and two great-grandchildren, Irene and Max Havlusch.
Funeral arrangements are from the Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, Point Pleasant Beach. Friends and family will gather at 9:30 p.m. today in the funeral home, with a funeral service following at 11:30 a.m. in the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle New Jersey Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.

Emma L. Testa
Brick Township resident Emma L. Bisch Testa, formerly of Point Pleasant Beach, died Tuesday, April 25 in Burnt Tavern Convalescent Center, Brick.
She was 77 years old.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Testa lived in Point Pleasant Beach before moving to Brick in 1957.
She was a homemaker.
She was predeceased in 1990 by her husband, Anthony Testa.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Frederick A. and Sheila Testa, Brick; one brother; Arthur Bisch, of Rhode Island; and three grandchildren, Frederick Jr., Tracy and Dana.
Funeral arrangements are from the Colonial Funeral Home, Brick. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. today in the funeral home.
James F. Ventresco
Long Branch resident James F. “Mr. Reel” Ventresco, whose daughter lives in Point Pleasant, “went fishing” Tuesday, April 25.
He was 72 years old.
He was a 1952 graduate of Long Branch High School, where he was the captain of the soccer team.
He was employed as a meat specialist and director of operations with ShopRite, West Long Branch, for 20 years, and was then employed for 10 years with Wakefern Food Corp., Edison, before retiring 15 years ago.
He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church, Long Branch, a member of the Holy Name Society, and served as an usher for 25 years.
“Mr. Reel” was an avid fisherman with a love for striped bass. He was a member of numerous clubs in the area, including the Long Branch Fishing Club, Sea Bright Anglers, Monmouth Beach Cartopper’s, New Jersey Striped Bass Organization, Long Branch Ice Boat and Yacht Club and Long Branch Elks Lodge No. 742.
He served in the National Guard Reserves.
He was predeceased in 1980 by his daughter, MaryLynn Ventresco; and by his two brothers, Nicholas and Thomas.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph N. and James T., both of Long Branch; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kathryn Grimsgaard, Eatontown, and Jo-Anne and Peter Bolzau, Point Pleasant; and four grandchildren, Heather Ventresco, and Leif, Victoria and Olivai Grimsgaard.
Funeral arrangements are from the Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch. A funeral service will be held at 8:30 a.m. today in the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial

Stephen R. Pable
Passaic resident Stephen R. Pable, whose son lives in Point Pleasant, died Wednesday, April 12.
Born in Passaic, Mr. Pable was a lifelong area resident.
He was employed as the deputy fire chief in Passaic, before retiring in 1960.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Jean Dubatovsky Pable.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Gail Pable, Point Pleasant; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Gerard Ferrone, Cranford; seven grandchildren, Robert S. Pable, Wall Township, Richard A. Pable Jr., Palm Coast, Fla., David W. Pable, Moncks Corner, S.C., Jane D. Meehan, Beaufort, S.C., Gerard J. Ferrone Jr., Melbourne, Fla., Anthony P. Ferrone, Clark; and Natalie J. Ferrone, Garwood; and 12 great-grandchildren.

James G. Hartwyk Sr.
South Orange resident James G. Hartwyk Sr., whose son lives in Point Pleasant, died Friday, April 14 in his home.
Mr. Hartwyk lived in Avon-By-The-Sea, Waterloo, Iowa, and Miller Place, N.Y., before moving to South Orange.
He was a 1955 graduate of Seton Hall University.
He was employed for many years as an executive with the automotive after market industry, working both nationally and internationally.
He was the past president of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of the Valley Church, Orange, and St. Elizabeth’s Church, Avon. He was the first lecturer appointed in St. Elizabeth’s Church and was very active in fund-raising and other activities in both parishes.
He was a member of the APAA of Washington, D.C., and the Sales Executive Club of New York. He was active in the Avon Bradley Kiwanis Club, serving as president from 1966-67, and on the education committee.
He was a founding member of the Miller Place High School Booster Club, and was responsible for raising the required academic standards of athletes who participated in all sports in the schools. He was a member of the Boards of Education in Avon, Waterloo, Iowa, and Miller Place, N.Y.
He was a Navy veteran, serving during World War II.
He was a member of the Willoughby Country Club, Stuart, Fla. He loved the game of golf and played regularly with his brother-in-law, Eugene Codey, who was more of a brother than an in-law. He traveled extensively through the United States, Canada and Europe, and considered traveling “the best education you can have.”
He was a beloved husband and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Bernice Codey Hartwyk; six sons and five daughters-in-law, James G. Jr. and Kathleen, Old Bridge, Jeffrey B. Sr. and Lenora, Turnersville, Douglas J. and Cathy, Point Pleasant, Mark C. and Joanne, South Orange, Phillip F. and Eleanor, West Orange, and Christopher M., South Orange; one brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Roz Hartwyk; Newark, Del.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
