Stanley Richard Lisowski, Sr.
Wall resident Stanley Richard Lisowski, Sr., whose brother lives in Point Pleasant, died Wednesday, July 20 in his home.
He was 64 years old.
Known as Rich, he was born in Jersey City and resided in Lincroft before moving to the Four Seasons community of Wall eight years ago.
Mr. Lisowski was a pioneer and leader of the concrete-cutting industry for 40 years. Fourteen years ago, with his son Steven, he founded Advanced Coring & Cutting, Freehold. He was highly respected by business associates, friends and family.
He was a board member of the ACC and the Concerned Homeowners Association at Four Seasons. He was also the secretary-treasurer of the Five Point Square Condominium Association. He was eager to help friends, business associates and family. He loved boating, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are his spouse of 44 years, Joan Tucker Lisowski; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Stash Lisowski of Colts Neck, Steven and Kristin Lisowski, of Wall, and Scott and Kristen Lisowski, of Middletown; his parents, Stanley L. and Cecilia Sever Lisowski, of Brick; a brother, Paul Lisowski, of Point Pleasant; and grandchildren, Daniel, Nicholas, Steven, Thomas, Megan, Jack and Luke.
Funeral arrangements were provided by the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home in Manasquan.

William G. “Pat” Beeman
Tinton Falls resident William G. “Pat” Beeman Sr., whose daughter lives in Point Pleasant, died Thursday, July 21 in CareOne, Wall.
He was 87 years old.
Born in Perkin, Md., he lived in Ohio, Jersey City, Roselle, Westfield, Bridgewater and Linden before moving to Tinton Falls four months ago.
He was a sheet metal worker with the Sheet Metal Workers Local No. 22 for many years. Mr. Beeman also sold real estate and owned Cardinal Sheet Metal and Roofing Co. in Roselle. He retired in 1983 after owning Dorn’s Paint in Roselle for 10 years.
He was a councilman for the Borough of Roselle from 1964 to 1968 and was a member of the Roselle Republican Club.
He was a communicant of the Church of the Church of St. Joseph the Carpenter in Roselle and was a member of the church’s Guard of Honor and Knights of Columbus Council 3946. He also was a scoutmaster for the church’s Boy Scout troop and was a coach for the church’s youth baseball league. He was an avid golfer, bowler and woodworker. He was a proud grandfather.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marie R. Barrett Beeman, in 1989.
Surviving are three sons, Dennis Beeman and his wife, Julene, of Sioux Falls, S.D., David Beeman and his wife, Arlene, of Elizabeth, and Joseph Beeman and his wife, Joyce, of Furlong, Pa.; four daughters, Marie Hagemann, of Point Pleasant, Veronica Bridgman and her husband, James, of Wall, Margaret Carney and her husband, Richard, of Wall, and Anne Beeman of Linden; a sister, Margaret Herrick of Merritt Island, Fla.; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

George Shustowicz
Toms River resident George Shustowicz, whose daughter lives in Point Pleasant, died Friday, July 22 in his home.
He was 82 years old.
Born in Jersey City, he lived in North Arlington from 1970 until moving to Toms River in 2003. He worked in customer service for Western Electric, Kearny, for 42 years before retiring in February 1982.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8885, Toms River. he was a past Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus Queen of Peace Council No. 3428, North Arlington. he was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Salapka Shustowicz; daughters, Elizabeth Carnevale of Pennsylvania, and Georgeann Donatelli of Point Pleasant; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Susie and Michael Carnevale, and Christopher, Rebecca and Emily Donatelli; and great-grandchildren, Abigail and Payton.

Anni B. Szymczak
Point Pleasant resident Anni B. Szymczak died Wednesday, Aug. 27.
She was 74 years old.
Born in Germany, she lived in Bloomfield, residing in Point Pleasant for 20 years.
An avid gardner, she also enjoyed crocheting and was a communicant of St. Martha Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant.
Beloved wife of the late Casimir, she was also predeceased by her brother, Richard Lobig.
She is survived by two sons, Andrew and his wife Elizabeth and John and his wife Lynn; her sister-in-law, Hedwig Lobig; and four grandchildren, Monica, Andrew, Victoria and Mallory.

Carol M. Zwigard Smith
Point Pleasant resident Carol M. Zwigard Smith died Saturday, June 9 in Claremont Care Center, Point Pleasant.
Born and raised in Maplewood, Mrs. Smith lived in Bernardsville, Short Hills and Mantoloking before moving to Point Pleasant four years ago.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Smith was a member of Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church in Point Pleasant where she was the co-leader of the Lydia Prayer Circle. She was a former member of Community Congregational Church in Short Hills.
She is survived by her loving husband and partner of 58 years, Thomas B. Smith Jr.; a son, Thomas B. Smith III, of Livingston; three daughters, Karen A. Billington and her husband Jim, of Bridgewater, Donna R. Smith, of Herndon, Va., and Wendy Smith, of Summit; a brother, William Zwigard, of Princeton; and three grandchildren, Aimee, Robert and Christopher.

Robert M. Brueckner
Lavallette resident Robert M. Brueckner died Wednesday, July 6, in Holiday Care Center, Berkeley.
He was 82 years old.
Born in Irvington, he was raised in Maplewood and lived in Florham Park for 30 years before coming to the West Point Island section of Lavallette in 1989.
Mr. Brueckner enlisted in the U.S. Army and trained at Camp Hale, Colo., in the Mountain Division. He then transferred into the 14th Air Force Division, member of the 365th Bomber Group and served in the CBI Theater.
After completing his military service, he joined the family business, Medical Service Company, Newark, a distributor of medical supplies and equipment to New Jersey hospitals and physicians’ offices. He served as president of the company from 1972 to 1989.
Mr. Brueckner was a member of the Health Industry Dealers Association. He was also a member of the Tuesday Night “Classic” Bowling League at Morris-Essex Lanes in Florham Park for many years. He was also a member of the Lavallette Yacht Club.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Helen Hughes Brueckner; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Robert Filenbaum, of Franklin Lakes; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Susan, and James and Dr. Jill, all of Madison; six grandchildren, Kate Whitmire and her husband Porter, Jane, Mickey, Mark, Gregory and Melissa; and a great-granddaughter, Anna Ruby Whitmire.

Elise A. Hartkopf
Point Pleasant resident Elise A. Hartkopf died Saturday, July 9 in Claremont Center, Point Pleasant.
She was 93 years old.
Born in Newark, she lived in Irvington before moving to Point Pleasant in 1978.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward, in 1993.
Surviving are a son, Stewart, of Cherry Hill; a daughter, Merle Magley, of Point Pleasant; four grandchildren, Scott and Glen Hartkopf and David and Erich Magley; and four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kaitlyn, Lindsey and Tyler Hartkopf.

Wister D. Shreve
Point Pleasant resident Wister D. Shreve died Thursday, June 30, in Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
He was 82 years old.
Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Ridgewood, and West Point Island, Lavallette. He was a lifelong summer resident of Lavallette, moving to Point Pleasant three years ago.
One of Mr. Shreve’s first jobs was with the Newark Star-Ledger and the Newark News.
He served two and one-half years in World War II in the South Pacific as staff sergeant Battery C, 8th Field Artillery Battalion, 25th Infantry Division. He was awarded three Bronze Service Stars for the Lezte, Luzan and New Guinea Campaign, and honorary mention for the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, American Campaign Medal, World War II. He received the Victory Medal; Army of Occupation Medal with Japan clasp; Victory Medal; Good Conduct Medal and State of New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal.
He was founder and president of Autographic Services Inc., Manway.
He received many titles, including the “Donald Johnson Award” for outstanding contributions to worldwide printing, for which only four were given since 1979.
He was a member of the Blackleaf Society Honorary Fraternity, 25 members worldwide; Trustee Heritage Committee; Municipal Alliance Committee; president of the Rotary Club and West Point Island Civic Association; and a volunteer with Lavallette Police Department.
He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Cary Shreve, in 1999.
Surviving are his daughters, Pamela Ellavsky, of Hudson, Mass., and Cindy Madden, of Newport, R.I.; his sons, Cary, of Virginia Beach, Va.,Scott, of Medfield, Mass., and Todd, of Sedona, Ariz.; a sister, Barbara Kelly, of Bethlehem, Pa.; his brothers, J. Donald Jr. of New Smithville, Pa., and James R. of Ithaca, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his fiancee, Alice Stroehle of Mantoloking.
