Donna Jean M. Edick
New Bern, N.C. resident Donna Jean Miller Edick, whose mother and brothers live in Point Pleasant, died Tuesday, Aug. 3 in Craven Regional Medical Center.
She was 49 years old.
She was an active member of the Fairfield Harbour Yacht Club, and a parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church.
She is survived by: her husband, Lee Edick; her mother, Loretta Miller, of Point Pleasant; two brothers, Donald and Anthony Miller, both of Point Pleasant; and a sister, Diane Merkel, of Toms River.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, Point Pleasant Beach.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 12805, New Bern, NC 28561.

Richard E. King
Spring Lake resident Richard E. King, whose son lives in Point Pleasant, died Friday, Oct. 1 in his home.
He was 78 years old.
Born on Worthington Avenue in Spring Lake, Chief King lived in town his entire life.
He was a retired chief petty officer and was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater aboard the USS Fogg and the USS Talladega. Chief King was a standby reservist and was recalled to active duty to support the Korean Conflict. He served many years at Lakehurst Naval Air Station and retired in 1970 from Naval Air Station, Floyd Bennett Field, N.Y., after 26 years of service. He then was employed with Winemiller Press and the Ocean Grove Times before being employed for 11 years with the Borough of Spring Lake.
He was a past member of the Spring Lake First Aid Squad.
He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Gladys King, and his brother, Albert J.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Lois Winemiller King; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Alison, Point Pleasant; one daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and John Olesen, Brick Township; his twin brother, Arnold J., Spring Lake; seven grandchildren, Kristen, Richard Jr., Cory and Erica King, Justin Hartten, Tricia Monahan and Eric Olesen; and his nieces and nephews, Donna Marie, Susan, Butch and Billy.

Marie L. Ippolito
Brielle resident Marie L. Ippolito, whose sons live in Point Pleasant, died Tuesday, Sept. 28 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
She was 74 years old.
Born in Orange, Mrs. Ippolito lived in Manasquan for seven years before moving to Brielle in 1971.
She was a communicant of St. Denis Church, Manasquan.
She was predeceased in 1998 by her husband, John Ippolito Sr., and by her brother, Salvatore, and her sister, Lillian.
Surviving are seven sons, John J. Jr, Manasquan, Robert, Brick Township, Anthony, Brielle, Patrick, Thomas and William, all of Point Pleasant, and Joseph, Key West, Fla.; one sister, Josephine Ezekian, Toms River; 10 grandchildren, Anthony, John, Cynthia, Patrick, Victoria, Jake, Matthew, Kylie, Dylan, and Dean Ippolito; and two stepgrandchildren, Jaclyn and Daniel Robertori.

Edward R. Murray
Middletown resident Edward Russell Murray, whose daughter lives in Point Pleasant, died Tuesday, Sept. 28 in his home.
He was 86 years old.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Murray lived in South Orange before moving to Middletown 35 years ago.
He was employed as an underwriter for 25 years Commercial Union Assurance Co., Ltd., New York City. He also was employed for 20 years with CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was an artist who painted the mural at the entrance of CentraState Medical Center.
He was a member of the Calvary Chapel, Port Monmouth, where he was and elder and a deacon.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and attained the rank of pharmacist’s mate 2c and was a corpsman who served on a minesweeper in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.
He was predeceased in 1963 by his first wife, Kathleen Daly Murray, and in 1992 by his second wife, Kathleen Edna DeRoner Murray.
Surviving are one son, Edward V., Brick Township; three daughters, Maureen Beatty, Matawan, Ethel Lissa Schmidtberg, Middletown, with whom he lived, and Robin Roggenbrodt, Point Pleasant; nine grandchildren; and three great-grand children.

William Shields
Brick Township resident William Shields, whose daughter lives in Point Pleasant, died Monday, Sept. 27 in his home.
He was 66 years old.
Born in Newark, Mr. Shields moved to Brick in 1970.
He was employed as a cook before retiring.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas, Toms River, and William M., U.S. Air Force, Lakenheath, England; three daughters, Marilyn J. Rogers, Brick, Debbie Beale, Point Pleasant, and Lorie; his mother, Anne Shields; and six grandchildren.

Frank Lenahan
Manasquan resident Frank Lenahan, whose sons live in Point Pleasant and Point Pleasant Beach, died Friday, Oct. 1 in his home.
He was 75 years old.
Born and raised in Newark, Mr. Lenahan lived in Bloomfield before retiring to Manasquan.
He was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and earned a degree from Seton Hall University, South Orange.
He was a communicant of St. Denis Church, Manasquan.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Bloomfield.
He was predeceased in 1986 by his first wife, Joan Ilaria Lenahan; and by a brother, Ronald.
Surviving are his wife, Trina Lenahan; two sons, Robert F., Point Pleasant, and Steven F., Point Pleasant Beach; one daughter, Christine J. Degraw, Bayville; one brother, Dennis, Bloomfield; one sister, Gail Miranda, Long Island, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, Michael, Britton, Erin, Tatum, Jonathan, Eric, Courtney, Joan and Maria; two stepdaughters, Doreen and her husband, Jim Fiebel, of Succanna, and Cynthia Telep, Rockaway; six stepgrandchildren, Amy, Brendan, Jillian, Matthew, Allison and Jaymie; and a stepgreat-grandson, Aidan.

Marie L. Calderella
Toms River resident Marie L. Calderella, whose son lives in Point Pleasant, died Sunday, Oct. 3 in Community Medical Center, Toms River.
She was 86 years old.
Born in Asti, Italy, Mrs. Calderella came to the United States in 1921, settling in Springfield, Mass. She lived in Hammonton for eight years before moving to Toms River 32 years ago.
She was employed as a secretary for many years in New York City.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and a member of the church’s Renew Ministry.
She was a life member of the Pine Shore Chapter of Deborah Hospital, Toms River.
She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Peter Carelli, and one sister, Carol Sheiner.
Surviving are her husband of 41 years, James L. Calderella; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James III, Toms River, and John M. and Jolaine, Point Pleasant; one sister, Stella Tenenbaum, Toms River; and five grandchildren, James F., Lauren, Jonathan,William and Matthew.
Funeral arrangements were from the Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, Toms River.

Garnet Leslie Boesch
Point Pleasant resident Garnet Leslie Boesch died Monday, Oct. 4 in the Claremont Care Center.
He was 75 years old.
Born in Haines, Ore., he grew up on a ranch outside of Baker City, Ore. After moving east, he settled in Point Pleasant.
He was a graduate of Baker City High School.
Garnet was the owner/operator of Alstate Iron Works, Point Pleasant, a business he established, until retiring.
He was a member of the Harvey Memorial United Methodist Church, Point Pleasant.
He was a member of the Point Pleasant Rotary, BPO Elks No. 1698 and the American Legion Post No. 196. He served as president of the Rotary for two terms and received it’s highest honor, “The Paul Harris Fellow” as well as an an award for 35 years for perfect attendance. He served as an officer and house committee chairman of the Elks and was twice named “Elk of the Year,” and received the “Life Time Achievement Award.”
Garnet was dedicated to this community and loved his family and spending time at his farm on the eastern shore of Virginia.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Carol Comstock Boesch; three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas H. and Kathy, James L. and Lynn, and William J. and Michelle; four grandsons, Thomas H. Jr., James L. Jr., Robert and Brandan; three granddaughters, Allison, Melissa, and Taylor; and three great-grandchildren, Peyton, Mary Madison, and Jackson.
Funeral arrangements are from the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant. a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Harvey Memorial United Methodist Church.
