Gloria Weiss
Grove, Okla., resident Gloria Kronowitt Weiss, formerly of Point Pleasant Beach, died Friday, June 25, in Inola Health Care Center, Inola, Okla.
She was 78 years old.
Born in Albany, N.Y., Mrs. Weiss grew up in Delmar, N.Y., and graduated from high school there.
She lived most of her life in Point Pleasant Beach, where she raised her children and worked as an interior decorator.
She moved to Grove, Okla., four years ago to be close to her daughter, Susan.
She enjoyed collecting antiques, reading and watching old movies. She also enjoyed nature, including bird watching.
Surviving are her children, Ronald and Stephen Weiss, Florida, Shandor Weiss, Oregon, and Susan Moritz and her husband Rudy, Grove, Okla.; one brother, Robert Kronowitt, Fla.; her grandchildren, Alicia Moritz, New Jersey, David Moritz, New York, Phillip and Daniel Weiss, Florida, Sophia Weiss, Oregon, and Raymond Moritz, Oklahoma; and three great-grandchildren, Sarah, Emma and Maida.
Funeral arrangements were from Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory, Claremore, Okla.
Robert G. Lepre
Point Pleasant and Islamorada, Fla. resident Robert G. Lepre died Wednesday, June 16 in Ocean Medical Center, Brick Township.
He was 67 years old.
Born in Orange, Mr. Lepre lived in Westfield before moving to Point Pleasant in 1984.
He was a retired purchasing agent for A.M.I in Branchburg.
He was an Army veteran and a member of the Point Pleasant Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Point Pleasant Elks Lodge No. 1698 and the Islamorada Florida Fishing Club.
Surviving are his wife, Pat; three brothers, George and Gennaro of Parsippany and David of Alberquerque, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were from the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant.
Paul A. Weaver
Manahawkin resident Paul Anthony Weaver, who was born in Point Pleasant, died Sunday, June 20 in Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin.
He was 60 years old.
Mr. Weaver had lived in Point Pleasant and Brick Township before moving to Manahawkin eight years ago.
He had been employed as a graphic designer for Taylor Made Cabinets, Manahawkin.
He was a Navy veteran, serving in the submarine service for over seven years.
He was a member of the Breton Woods Fire Company, American Legion Post 232, Barnegat and the U.S. Submarine Vets.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Dealaman Weaver; one son, Darin Weaver, Manahawkin; one daughter, Carin Wojciechowski, Barnegat; two sisters, Donna Miller, Greensboro, N.C. and Carole Phillips, London, England; and three grandchildren, Krystal Weaver and Jeremy and Derek Wojciechowski.

Florence Loughran
Point Pleasant Beach resident Florence Pray Loughran died Sunday, June 20 in her home.
She was 86 years old.
Born in Jersey City, Mrs. Loughran lived there until moving to Point Pleasant Beach 59 years ago.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Point Pleasant Beach Republican Club.
She was a communicant of St Peter’s Church, Point Pleasant Beach.
She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Thomas F. X. Loughran Sr., and one sister, Mary MacMillan.
Surviving are five sons and four daughters-in-law, Thomas F. X. Loughran Jr. and Patricia, Brick Township; Robert E. and Jo Ann Loughran, Brick; Richard E. and Lois Loughran, Point Pleasant; Michael J. and Pattie Loughran, Point Pleasant Beach; and John B. Loughran, Point Pleasant Beach; two daughters and one son-in-law, Mary Jane and Mark Fendl, Point Pleasant; and Sara E. Van Wickle, of Brielle. She is also survived by two sisters, Edna Burke, Sea Girt, and Doris Tamke, Brick; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

James E. Furlong
Point Pleasant Beach resident James E. Furlong died Wednesday, June 16 in Leisure Chateau Care Center, Lakewood.
He was 90 years old.
Born in Newark, Mr. Furlong moved to Point Pleasant Beach 51 years ago.
He was an owner of the Furlong Tavern, Newark, and The Shamrock, Irvington, and one of the co-owners of Bavarian Village, Newark.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, receiving two Purple Hearts.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge and the American Legion post, all in Point Pleasant.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Furlong, Elizabeth, and Edward Furlong, Florida; one stepson, Eric Rasmussen, Irvington; three grandchildren, Pilatha, Christopher, and Andrea; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were from the Lakewood Funeral Home, Howell.
Joseph A. Desiderio
Point Pleasant resident Joseph A. Desiderio died Thursday, June 18 in Concord Healthcare Center, Lakewood.
He was 89 years old.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Desiderio spent most of his life there.
He made and delivered Italian, brick-oven-baked bread with his father, Giovanni, and his late brother, Tony, in Desiderio’s Bakery, South Brooklyn, which had been open since 1910.
Until last year, he baked and consulted for a new Desiderio business, Luca e’ Luca, Point Pleasant. The store features his homemade recipes that originated in New York City nearly a 100 years ago.
He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Marie Albanese.
Surviving are four children, John, Staten Island, N.Y., Lucille, Brick Township, Dolores, Point Pleasant, and Joseph P., Pleasant Valley, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.

Dorothy E. Butler
Point Pleasant Beach resident Dorothy Elizabeth Butler died Thursday, June 17 in Ocean County Medical Center, Brick Township.
She was 89 years old.
Born in New York City, Mrs. Butler lived in Dunellen until moving to Point Pleasant Beach in 1991.
She attended Bound Brook High School and was employed for many years with Borroughs Corporation, Warren, before retiring.
She was a former communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, Dunellen.
She was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Butler; a daughter, Saundra Petrik; her parents, Francis and Julia Pflock Hogarth; and a brother, Joseph Hogarth.
Surviving are one son, Walter Butler, Brick; two daughters, Judith Risher, Forked River, and Dorothy Kern, Engelwood, Fla.; four grandsons, Scott Risher, Thomas and Michael Petrik, and Richard Kern; four granddaughters, Wendy Filippone, Kim Grent, Michelle Petrik and Karen Kern Ollerenshaw; six great-grandchildren; and a devoted friend, Doris Brome, Dunellen.

Michael J. Stetter
Point Pleasant resident Michael Jeffrey Stetter died Friday, June 18 in Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.
He was 2 months old.
Surviving are his parents, Jerry and Allyson Stetter; his brother, Jonathan; his paternal grandparents, Betty and Cy Cook, Belmar, and James and Joyce Stetter, Florida; and his maternal grandparents, Mortimer and Jan Rogers, Farmingdale.

Kevin R. Queen
Brielle resident Kevin Richard Queen, whose sister lives in Point Pleasant, Queen died Friday, June 1 in his home.
He was 36 years old.
Born in Neptune, he was a lifelong resident of the area.
He was a cemetery caretaker for Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
He was a member of Manasquan Methodist Church, Manasquan.
He was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Queen.
Mr. Queen is survived by his father, Richard Queen, Brick; one daughter, MacKenzie Queen; two sisters, Bonnie Q. Wright and her husband Gregory S. Wright, Brielle, and Jacque Queen, Point Pleasant; a niece, Diana Wright, Brielle; and a nephew, John Wright, Brielle.
