Nicholas Mancini Jr.
Point Pleasant resident Nicholas Mancini Jr. died Monday, June 7 in his home.

He was 76 years old.

Born in Scotch Plains,Mr. Mancini lived in Bridgewater before moving to the Shore area in 1988.

He was a building contractor for many years before retiring in 1986.

He was a former member of BPOE Elks Lodge No. 1068, Somerville.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time in his Florida residence.

He was predeceased by his two sisters, Rose Mingione and Marjorie Novello.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Jean M. England Mancini; one son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas III and Kathryn, Tewksbury; three daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Frank Barbara, Doylestown, Pa., Melissa and Russell Marshall, Sea Girt, and Leslie and John Calo, Bridgewater; one brother, Anthony Mancini; one sister, Dorothea Colon; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were from the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, Lavallette.

Contributions in Mr. Mancini’s memory may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Center,200 Trenton Road, Browns Mills, 08015.

Natale J. Bruno
Wanamassa, Ocean Township resident Natale J. Bruno, whose son lives in Point Pleasant, died Monday, June 7 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.

Born in Asbury Park, Mr. Bruno moved to Wanamassa in 1950.

He was employed as a fireman with Asbury Park, retiring in 1966. He was also employed as a bartender with Mom’s Kitchen, Neptune, and Pat’s Tavern, Belmar.

He was a communicant of of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Asbury Park.

He was a lifetime member of VFW Post No. 1333, and a former member of Asbury Park Elks Lodge No. 128.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving aboard the battleship USS South Dakota as an electronics technicians mate third class. He received the Victory Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon 10 stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon 2 stars and American Theater Ribbon.

He was predeceased in 2002by his daughter, Natalie Squassi.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Julia Camoosa Bruno; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Timothy J., Asbury Park, and Michael R. and Jackie, Point Pleasant; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Kim and Chuck Caton, Marathon, Fla., Deborah Bruno, Long Branch, and Christopher Squassi, New York City; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Pat, Toms River; and three grandchildren, Greg Caton, and Ashley and Ian Bruno.

Funeral arrangements were from the Buckley Funeral Home, Asbury Park.

Martin Hiller
Lavallette resident Martin Hiller died Wednesday, June 2 in his home.

He was 88 years old.

Born in Bergenfield, Mr. Hiller lived in Bloomfield before moving to Lavallette.

He was employed for 44 years as a banker with the Bowery Savings Bank, New York, retiring in 1978.

He was predeceased in 2002 by his wife, Grace Hiller.

Surviving are one son, Bruce, Toms River; one daughter, Gail Ashby, Perryville, Md.; and two grandchildren.

Private funeral arrangements were from the Kedz Funeral Home, Toms River.

Barbara Marschalk
Wall Township resident Barbara Morton Marschalk, whose sister lives in Point Pleasant, died Friday, May 28.

She was 59 years old.

Mrs. Marschalk was a life long resident of Manasquan and Wall.

She was a member of the Manasquan United Methodist Church.

She was predeceased in 2001 by her father, Richard D. Morton.

Surviving are her loving husband of 39 years, Paul; one son, Scott, Brielle; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and John Brannon, and Diana and Tom While, all of Wall; her mother, Lillian Morton, Manasquan; one sister Nancy Kubaitis Farley, Point Pleasant; and four grandchildren, Kylie, Emily, Sean, and Caroline.

Funeral arrangements were from the O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall.

Contributions in Mrs. Morton’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad Street, Shrewsbury, 07702.

Joseph A. Racioppi
The Woodlands, Texas, resident Joseph A. Racioppi, formerly of Point Pleasant, died Monday, May 24 in Houston.

He was 51 years old.

Born in Point Pleasant, Mr Racioppi lived in Denver before moving to Texas.

He was a 1975 graduate of Fordham University, Bronx, N.Y.

Joe began his career in the marketing department of Mobil Oil, later working as a landman in Denver. He then was employed with Mobil Natural Gas, Inc., Houston, before becoming the commercial manager, and then the joint venture manager with Mobil Oil Indonesia Inc., Jakarta, Indonesia. From 2000-2004, Joe was the U.S. Transportation and Regulatory manager with ExxonMobil Gas and Power Marketing, Houston, where he managed the group responsible for obtaining capacity on natural gas pipelines and addressing regulatory matters for gas sales in the United States.

Joe had a great passion for work, but his true joy was his family.

Surviving are his loving wife of 22 years, Maryanne; two sons, Michael and Mark; two daughters, Shauna and Jennifer; his parents, Joseph and Janice Racioppi, Wall Township; three brothers, John, Point Pleasant, Jeffrey, Delaware Township, and Jim, Brick Township; three sisters, Janice McMullen, Point Pleasant; Judy Belka, Spring Lake Heights; and Jeana Blakeslee, Wall; sisters and brothers-in-law; and 11 nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were from Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, Conroe, Texas.

Norbert J. Tomczak
Point Pleasant Beach resident Norbert J. Tomczak died Tuesday, May 29 in Ocean Medical Center, Brick Township.

He was 82 years old.

Born in Chicago, Mr. Tomczak lived in Mount Holly before moving to Point Pleasant Beach 38 years ago.

He was employed for 38 years in the personal office of Fort Monmouth, retiring 27 years ago.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Church, Point Pleasant Beach, where he served as a Eucharistic minister.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Point Pleasant Beach Board of Adjustment.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was predeceased by his son, Steven.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Elise Murphey Tomczak; one son, Paul, Point Pleasant Beach; two daughters, Diane Waugh, Howell Township, and Mary Tomczak, Brick Township; one brother, John, Warren; one sister, Dolores Schroback, Whiting; and two grandchildren, Charles and Catherine Waugh.

Funeral arrangements were from the Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, Point Pleasant.

Contributions in Mr. Tomczak’s memory may be made to the National Kateri Shrine, Box 627, Fonda, NY 12068.

Rose M. Calderaro
Point Pleasant resident Rose M. D’Ambrosio Calderaro died Friday, May 29 in Ocean Medical Center, Brick Township.

She was 86 years old.

Born and raised in Jersey City, Mrs. Calderaro moved to Point Pleasant 20 years ago.

She was a homemaker.

She was a communicant of St. Dominic’s Church, Brick.

She was predeceased in 2002 by her husband, Joseph Calderaro.

Surviving are two sons, Michael J., Maplewood, and Nicholas D., Satellite Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Rosanne Scelfo, Brick; one sister, Clara Thier, Sarasota, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were from the Colonial Funeral Home, Brick.
