MAGDALENA K. HAWTHORNE, 87, of ROCHELLE PARK, died Friday, August 25, 2006, at the Bristol Manor Health Care Center, Rochelle Park. She had worked as an executive secretary for AT&T, New York, NY until retiring. She was born in New York City. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold F. Hawthorne in 1988. Surviving are two nephews, James Hawthorne of Bradley Beach and William Hawthorne of Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial

JEANNE R. McCOLM, 84, of LAKEWOOD, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006 at the Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. She was born in Uniontown, Pa., and was a lifelong resident of the Jersey Shore. Jeanne was a graduate of Centenary College and the Traphagen School of Design. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church on the Hill, Wayside, where she served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, choir mother, and on the Building Committee for the new church. She was a member of the Recreation Committee, the Leisure Club, and had served on the Election Board for the Boro of Interlaken. She was a past president of the Asbury Park Womens Club. She taught sewing and fashion design at various adult schools, judged 4H contests and was a Girl Scout leader. She was predeceased by her parents, the Rev. Dr. Harry A. and Lillian Relyea. Her father was the former pastor of the First Methodist Church of Asbury Park. She was also predeceased by her brother, Milton Relyea; her sister, Louise McQuade; and her beloved husband, Robert L. McColm Jr. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Bonnie McColm and Adrian Moyle of Bay Head; her son and daughter-in-law, R. Bruce McColm and Ann McCracken of Alexandria, Va.; three granddaughters; a grandson; and two great-grandsons. A private burial will take place Saturday at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24 at Harrogate, Lakewood. HOWARD F. RUHLE, 86, of OCEAN GROVE, died Thursday, September 14, 2006, at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He had worked as a parts manager for the Ford Motor Company, Bergen County until retiring in 1985. Mr. Ruhle was a US Army veteran, serving during World War II and a member of the American Legion in Union City. Mr. Ruhle was a graduate of Union Hill High School, Union City, and a member of the Grove Reform Church, North Bergen where he attended the men's Bible Class and taught Sunday School. He attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Ocean Grove. He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick W. and Julia Poeschel Ruhle and by his brother-in-law, H. Hudson Snyder. Surviving are his sister, Emy Lou Snyder, with whom he lived, three nieces, Jeanne Snyder, Merrill Megill and Lynn McGrath and a host of other family members and friends. A funeral service will be held at the Ocean Grove Memorial Home, 118 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove on Monday afternoon, September 18 at 4:30. Interment

JOHN T. McGLONE, 93, of NEPTUNE, died Monday, October 2, 2006, at Care One, Wall. Mr. McGlone was a graduate of the Newark College of Engineering, now NJ Institute of Technology and had worked as a process engineer for the Otis Elevator Company, Harrison, until retiring. Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Marion Vanderburg McGlone, a son, John T. McGlone of Fair Haven, a daughter, Nancy Brayden of Medford, a sister, Mary Jane Callahan of South Carolina and four grandchildren Kristen Tessier, Michael McGlone, Christopher Brayden and Jacqueline Brayden-Ladik. MARION TIFFANY, 75, of WHITING, died Tuesday, October 3, 2006, at the Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Carbondale, PA, she had worked as a secretary until retiring. Surviving are her sister and brother in law, Patricia T. and John P. Coogan of Spring Lake Heights. A private entombment was held at Monmouth Memorial Park Mausoleum, Tinton Falls. There were no calling hours.
LUCY CAPOZZI, 81, of OCEAN GROVE, died Thursday, October 5, 2006, at Care One, Wall. She was a homemaker. Mrs, Capozzi was a member of the Quilting Club and the Jersey Shore Women’s Club. Also, she was a volunteer at the Jersey Shore Performing Arts Center, Ocean Grove. Born in The Bronx, NY, she had lived in Westwood, NJ, Meriden, CT, and South Plainfield, before moving to Ocean Grove in 1999. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank M. Capozzi in 2000. Surviving are two sons, Martin Capozzi of Neptune and Robert Capozzi of Wayne, two granddaughters, Liz Morris and Allison Halko, and three great granddaughters Abby, Melanie and Kristen. Rev. JOHN C. TAYLOR, 85, of FREEHOLD, died Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. The Rev. Mr. Taylor was a Presbyterian minister, last serving at the Pierce Memorial Church in Farmingdale. He was a member of the Ocean Grove Auditorium Ushers Association, the Monmouth Presbytery and an avid New York Yankee fan. He was a 60 year summer resident of the tent colony in Ocean Grove. Rev. Taylor was a chaplain in the United States Army, during the Korean Conflict serving in Greenland where he earned a commendation medal for valor. He was a graduate of Maryville College and the Princeton Theological Seminary. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Aldyn Graham Taylor, a son, Graham Taylor and his wife Jeannye of Lake Worth Florida, a daughter, Kymme Van Cleef and her husband, Jim of Fair Haven and four grandchildren, Amy Taylor of Maryville, TN, Valarie, T.J. and Kyle Van Cleef, all of Fair Haven. A Celebration of Life service was held on Wednesday, October 11th at 2:00 PM at the Unity Church by the Shore, Neptune, with Rev. Steven Newby, Pastor, officiating. Interment
at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, was private.
