WILLIAM J. TACKE, 52, of OCEAN GROVE, died Thursday, January 25, 2007 at The King Manor Care Center, Neptune. Mr. Tacke was the supervising director and cofounder of Model Team LLC, Ocean Grove. He began his career as an international fashion model in L.A., where he was the last male model hand-picked by fashion mogul Wilhelmina. As a model, he worked in Madrid, Milan, Tokyo and Zurich, and across the U.S. Mr. Tacke worked for such clients as Calvin Klein, Commes des Garcons, Anna Sui, J. Crew, Lanvin, Macy's, Halston, Gottex and Givenchy. His extensive career also included magazine covers, national TV commercials, appearances on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show, " "Laverne and Shirley, " "Happy Days, " National commercial print campaigns, and the ABC Sports national and international "Golden Runner" symbol of the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics. Mr. Tacke, along with John Merriman had directed and coproduced hundreds of shows in New York and across the U.S. for various designers and clients such as Abercrombie and Fitch, Weight Watchers, Subaru, Kinney Shoes and Dick Clark productions. He will be missed by his beloved dogs, Astrid, Buzz, Steffi, Carmen and Robin. He was looking forward to meeting his dogs Ingrid and Elsa over the Rainbow Bridge. Surviving are his life partner of 22 years, John Merriman, his brother, Robert and his wife Brenda of Council Bluffs, IA, three sisters, Barbara Tacke of Council Bluffs, IA, Beth Black and her husband, Philip of Omaha, NE and Burdine Osborn and her husband Gary of Council Bluffs, IA and his nieces and nephews, Stuart and Jeremy Black, Kelsey and Connor Osborn and Brittany and Bailey Tacke. JEANETTE R. WOELNER KEGLER, 80, of OCEAN GROVE died Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at the Manor-by-the-Sea in Ocean Grove where she had lived for a year. A life long resident of Monroe, Michigan, Jeanette moved to New Jersey in December of 2005. She was born February 18, 1926 in Monroe, MI the daughter of the late Walter and Lena Luft Woelmer. After her graduation from Monroe High School Jeanette went on to work for the Detroit Edison Company, The Citizen Budget Company and the Monroe County Library System. Harold “Buzz” Kegler, sadly he preceded her in death on January 31, 1998. Jeanette was a life member of Zion Lutheran Church, a member of The Monroe Thrift Shop Association, Mobile Meals, Mercy Memorial Hospital Guild and the Monroe Golf and Country Club. Jeanette is survived by three loving children; Janice M. and her husband Bill Knight of Ocean Grove, NJ, Donald L. Kegler and his wife Sally of Hilo, HI and Brian W. Kegler and his wife Joan of San Diego, CA. three cherished grandchildren and three cherished great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanette was preceded in death by a sister. A funeral service was held on Saturday at 11:30 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Monroe, MI under the direction of the Bacarella Funeral Home, Monroe. Rev. Gary Tryggestad and Rev. Ross William Ulrich pastors of Zion Lutheran Church officiated. Private interment services were held at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle, MI. NELLIE FLORENCE FREEMAN, 89, of BRADLEY BEACH, entered her eternal home on Wednesday, February 21, 2007. Nellie was a lifelong resident of Bradley Beach and a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Bradley Beach where she served as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the church council. She loved the Lord and always strived to serve Him throughout her life. “Aunt Nellie” will be dearly missed by her friends and family. Nellie was a graduate of Bradley Beach Elementary School and Asbury Park High School. She was employed for many years in secretarial positions with A.G. Rogers of Neptune, as a personal secretary to the president of the Steinbach Company of Asbury Park, and 20 years with the payroll department of the Neptune Township Board of Education, from where she retired in 1986. Nellie later worked part time on the office staff at Francis Asbury Manor in Ocean Grove. She also sold beach badges in Bradley Beach for eight consecutive summers. Nellie is survived by her twin sister and brother in law, Betty and Lyman Graham of Bradley Beach, by her brother and sister in law, Fred and Ruth Freeman of Albuquerque, NM, by her niece, Bonnie Graham of Ocean Grove, by her nephews Dale Graham of Delray Beach, FL, and Chuck Freeman and his wife, Lynn, of Jamestown, NM.
A funeral service were held on Monday, Feb. 26th at 11:00 AM at the Ocean Grove Memorial Home 118 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove, with interment following at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. ELEANOR A. VILLANOVA, 88, of OCEAN GROVE, died Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Mrs. Villanova was born in NYC and moved to Kearny where she lived for 75 years before moving to Ocean Grove four years ago. She was a devoted mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend to many...everyone who knew her loved her and she will be missed by all. Eleanor was a life member and past president of the Deborah Heart Foundation - Golden Heart Chapter. For the many years she lived in Kearny, Eleanor was an active part in that community serving in many offices of the Arlington Woman's Club, she was a past president of the Roosevelt School PTA and a member of the St. Cecilia Seniors. She was a former communicant of St. Stephens Roman Catholic Church in Kearny and after moving to Ocean Grove she attended the Church of the Ascension in Bradley Beach. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis J. Villanova, in 1992 and by her son, Kenneth. Surviving are her daughter, Rosemarie C. Villanova and her dogs, Nikki, and Darien, of Bradley Beach, a sister, Marie Drabin, of North Arlington, NJ, her granddaughter, Angela, and her husband, Steve Kuehner, of Jacksonville, Florida, a daughter-in-law, Lorraine Villanova, of Pompano Beach Florida, nephews Gregg and his wife, Kathy Drabin, of Marlton NJ, Michael, and his wife Diane Drabin, of Connecticut and a niece, Mary Ellen DiMeo, of No. Arlington, NJ. RUTH L. SCHWARTZ, 97, of OCEAN GROVE, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at the Manor-by-the-Sea, Ocean Grove. She had worked as a sales clerk for Ruth’s Stationery Store, Ocean Grove, until retiring. Miss Schwartz was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Ocean Grove and the Gov. William Livingston Chapter, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution. Born in Spring Lake Heights, she had lived in Ocean Grove all her life. She was predeceased by her three sisters Edna Rea, Clara Dey and Minerva Wertz, by her brother William Schwartz and by her parents, G. William and Mary D. Mager Schwartz. Surviving are a sister, Mary Jane Schwartz of Asbury Park and her niece, Lois Haase of Bella Vista, Arkansas. A graveside service was held at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls on Monday, March 19th at 2:00 PM with interment following. There were no calling hours.
BETTY M. BRACE, 82, of OCEAN GROVE, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Brace was a homemaker. Some of her happiest moments were taking her family to Disney World and her trips to Atlantic City. She was predeceased by her daughter, Judy Ryan and by her granddaughter Nikki Buonocore. Surviving is her loving husband of 60 years, Richard W. Brace, her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Guy Buonocore, her sister, Alma LaBarre, her brother, Robert Hagerman, her three grandchildren, Lori Dorick, Richie Ryan and Guy Buonocore, Jr., and her great grandchild Jessica Dorick. Friends were invited to call from 4-8 PM Friday at the Ocean Grove Memorial Home, 118 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove. RAYMOND J. KUVER of AVON, formerly of Short Hills, died Saturday, March 17, 2007, at the Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was the owner of Dunn Business Machines, Jersey City until retiring in 1986. Mr. Kuver served in the National Guard. He was a member of the South Orange Elks and the Belmar Fishing Club. Born in Jersey City, he summered in Avon before retiring there in 1993. Surviving are his wife Joan Guerdile Kuver, two daughters, Donna K. Merola of Short Hills and Jo Ann Andrasko of Springfield and three grandchildren, Joseph Raymond Andrasko, Catharine Andrasko and Katie Merola. FAITH E. BERMINGHAM, 80, of ASBURY PARK, died Saturday, March 31, 2007 at the Jersey Shore University Medical center, Neptune. Born in Roselle, NJ, she was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Simon "Buddy" Bermingham, her parents, Walter and Harriet Place, her brother, Wayne Place and by two sisters, Marjorie Johnson and Madelaine Place. Surviving are two sons, Paul and Lee Bermingham, a daughter, Cindy Bermingham, a sister, Betty Joyce of Farmingdale and nieces and nephews. HARRY L. HAINES, 77, of OCEAN GROVE, died Monday, April 2, 2007, at his brother's home in Brielle. He had worked as an engineer for Eastman Kodak, Rochester, NY until retiring. Mr. Haines was a graduate of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY and served his country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Eugene F. and Ethel T. Haines of Brielle, two cousins, George Conradi and Joyce Marshall, both of Fanwood and two nieces, Katherine Marshall of Hillsborough and Leslie Aman of New Providence.
