Gail E. Meier Dauer
ier Dauer, formerly of Brielle, passed away Sunday, Dec. 4 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. She was 71.

Raised in Westfield, she had resided in Brielle for many years before moving to Brick 12 years ago.

Gail was a Westfield High School graduate and it was there she met her loving husband Arnold. Gail was also a student at Somerset Hospital School of Nursing in Somerville.

Gail was always a wonderfully caring, unselfish, devoted mother to her children and was the primary caregiver for her late daughter Deborah “Debbie” Jean Dauer for 43 years before she passed away in 2006. Gail’s dedication to Debbie’s well being was inspirational to all those lucky enough to know her. She was the best Mom, Best Friend ever.

Gail was predeceased by her parents William and Gertrude Meier, her daughter Debbie and her brother Richard Meier.

Gail is survived by her husband of 53 years Arnold Dauer; her son David Dauer and wife Diane, of Wall; her daughter Jennifer Dauer, of Manasquan; her brother Bill Meier, of Parsippany; three grandchildren, Kevin and Mitchell Thomson and Jillian Dauer; and a great- grandson Trevor Thomson.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service on Friday, Dec. 9 at 11 a.m. at the O’Brien Funeral Home in Wall. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Redeemer Orthodox Presbyterian Church [Redeemer OPC], P.O. Box 1854, Toms River.

Peter A. Quigley Jr.
Peter A. Quigley Jr., formerly of Manasquan, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 4. He was 59.

Born in Orange, he was a member of the Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 1342 Essex County.

Peter was predeceased by his father, Peter A. Quigley Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Ginny Quigley, of Manasquan; his sister Colleen and Michael Bugliaro, of Manasquan; his brothers Michael and Nancy Quigley, of Manasquan, Thomas and Linda Quigley, of Manasquan, and John and Lorraine Quigley, of Wall; plus seven nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were held privately.

George A. Burr
George A. Burr, of the West Belmar section of Wall Township, died at his residence on Wednesday, Nov. 30. He was 73.

He was born and lived in Neptune for most of his life. He graduated from Asbury Park High School in 1953 and proudly served his country in the Korean War. He was a member of the Wall Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 for many years and served as fire chief. He later served with the Spring Lake Heights Volunteer Fire Company. Mr. Burr worked as a truck driver for TRL Trucking in Pittstown, Pa. for many years.

Mr. Burr is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rose [nee Marrucca]; his three sons, George Jr. and his wife Kathleen, Tony and his wife Wendy, and Michael and his wife Deborah; his two daughters, Rosemary Colson and Tracy Fisher; his brother Charles and wife Claire; his sister Dolly and her partner Rose; and 11 grandchildren.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Wall. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN.

Lucille Thomasian
Lucille Thomasian, formerly of Wall, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Jersey Shore Genesis Nursing Home in Eatontown. She was 83.

Lucille was born in 1928 and was a resident in Belmar before moving to Wall Township 42 years ago. Lucille worked along side her husband Jack for 32 years at Rainbow Cleaners in Belmar before taking positions at Fort Monmouth and later performing volunteer work at St. Stepanos Armenian Church in Elberon. Lucille was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother that always put her family and grandchildren before herself.

Lucille was predeceased by her parents, Sarah and Charles Najarian, and her husband Jack Thomasian.

Lucille is survived by her children and spouses, Nancy and Nicolo Bisconti, of Lugano, Switzerland, Matthew and Francine Thomasian, of Wall, Thomas and Christine Thomasian, of Oceanport, and Jack and Giovanni Thomasian, of Westford, Mass. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Ray Kapreilian, and her grandchildren, Giancarlo and Stefania Bisconti, Michael, Morgan, Nicole and Katelyn Thomasian.

Arrangements were under the direction of Reilly Funeral Home in Belmar. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the St. Stepanos Armenian Church of Elberon

Barbara L. Murray
Barbara ”Bobbie” L. Murray, of Wall, passed away Thursday, Dec. 1 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center with her family by her side. She was 75.

Barbara was born May 21, 1936 to her parents Lewis and Anna Dawkins. She was raised in Springfield and moved to Wall Township as a junior in high school. She received her nursing degree from Elizabeth General in Elizabeth. She worked at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital in Marlboro. Barbara worked in Central School as a lunch aid and the IPI Lady. Barbara also worked for Frequency Engineering Lab as a nurse for over 20 years.

Prior to her retiring she worked as a school bus aid for Wall Township School District. Barbara was a member of Wall First Aid, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Glendola Fire Company. Barbara’s biggest joy in her life was celebrating the holidays with her family.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Robert Sr., in 2009.

She is survived by a daughter and her husband Deborah and Thomas Bell, of Port Monmouth; two sons and their spouses, Robert and Constance, of Moorestown, and Scott and Nancy Murray, of Howell. Barbara leaves behind a brother and his wife Richard and Pat Dawkins of Forked River; two sisters and their spouses, Audrey and Lou Dick of Cloverdale, Calif., and Carol and Roberts Knots of Blakeslee, Pa.; seven grandchildren Nicole, RJ, Andrew, Heather, Matthew, Rachel and CJ; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday, Dec. 8 from 5-8 p.m. at Orender Family Home for Funerals in Manasquan. A funeral service will be held Thursday evening at 8 p.m. Interment will be Friday, Dec. 9 at 11:30 a.m. at Brig Gen William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial cemetery in Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Brain Injury Association of NJ, 825 Georges Road, 2nd Fl., North Brunswick, or www.bianj.org.

Robert G. Wilderotter
Robert G. Wilderotter, formerly of Avon-by-the-Sea, died peacefully at home on Dec. 25. He was 93.

Born and raised in Newark, Mr. Wilderotter was the son of the late Charles and Augusta [Hepp] Wilderotter. He was a graduate of St. Peter’s Grammar School and St. Benedict’s Preparatory School where he was the Drum Major of the St. Benedict’s Band.

He received a bachelor of arts in philosophy from Villanova University, Class of 1940, and was in the midst of graduate studies at Seton Hall University when he was drafted and sent to OCS.

An Army veteran of WWII, he was initially with the 4th Armored Division as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1942 but was pulled to form a Cadre of the 16th before being sent to Europe, eventually moving into position with Patton’s Third Army. He was honorably discharged as a Captain, Cavalry in Oct. 1945.

Bob married the former Eileen Marie Barry on March 23, 1943. After the war they lived in Bloomfield, and then moved to Short Hills while maintaining a summer home in Avon-by-the-Sea.

Always in the furniture business, he was a buyer for Wanamaker’s and Hathaway’s in New York City and then owned his own business in Westfield.

An offer to be the manager of a major furniture store in Grand Rapids, Mich. brought the family to the Midwest, settling in East Grand Rapids, Mich. and later Grand Blanc, Mich.

In retirement, he and Lee lived at the Jersey Shore in Avon before returning to Michigan, living in Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, and then Perry Farm Village in Harbor Springs.

An ardent Villanova Wildcat and Michigan Wolverine fan, he was most proud of his family and enjoyed traveling all over the USA to be with them.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, his children and their spouses: Mari and Jerome McDevitt [Scotch Plains and Avon], Carl and Jane Wilderotter [Metairie, La.], Judy and Jack Harvey [Harbor Springs, Mich.], Mark and Kathy Wilderotter [Merritt Island, Fla.], Gini and Jeff Graham [Beaverton, Ore.], Dave Wilderotter [Lake Tahoe, Calif.], Wendy Wilderotter and Deb Malmgren [Jersey City and Kittatinny Lake], Christine and Richard Carreno [Manlius, N.Y. and Harbor Springs, Mich.], and Lisa and Mike Ethington [East Grand Rapids and Drummond Island, Mich.]; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; his sister Barbara Rinkor [Maplewood], his brother and sister-in-law Jack and Barbara Barry [Morristown], and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Carl and Arthur Wilderotter.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Stone Funeral Home, Petoskey, Mich. There will be no visitation, but a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at a later date followed by springtime interment at Holy Childhood Cemetery, Harbor Springs, Mich. A celebration of his life will be held this summer in Avon-by-the-Sea.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a charity of your choice.

William G Dowd, III
William G Dowd, III, of Wall, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22 at his home. He was 87.

William was born and raised in Elizabeth and moved to Curtis Point in Mantoloking in 1973 and then to Wall Township 13 years ago.

William was a graduate of Niagara University and Seton Hall School of Law.

He was an owner of Bauer and Dowd Title Insurance Company which later became Republic Title Insurance Company.

William was an Army veteran of WWII.

In his spare time he was an avid bowler, enjoyed golfing and a member of the Marbleheaders of Spring Lake.

William was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Doris in 2000.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Bill and Marion Dowd, of Shark River Hills, and Doug Dowd of Chadds Ford, Pa. and Nancy Dowd, of Sea Isle City. William is also survived by his five grandchildren Scott and Jess Dowd, Erin Dowd, Courtney and Jaime Heaney, Katie Dowd and Craig Dowd; and a great granddaughter Hazel Heaney.

Arrangements were under the direction of Orender Family Home for Funerals in Manasquan.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Denis Church, in Manasquan. Interment will took place at Monmouth Memorial Park in Tinton Falls.

Angela Buscio
Angela Buscio, “Aunt La La”, of Wall, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Dec. 17 at home in Wall surrounded by her loving family. She was 54.

Born in Jersey City, Angela lived most of her life in Rutherford before moving to Wall 17 years ago.

She was a parishioner of the Church of Saint Rose, Belmar.

Her passion was being a hairdresser, which she did for many years.

In her free time, Angela loved the beach, bowling, trips to Atlantic City and her “Holly”.

Survived by her beloved parents, Nicholas and Mary [nee Manzo] Buscio, Angela is also survived by her loving sisters, Josephine Buscio, Marie Buscio Doviak and her husband Chip, and Linda Buscio DiGenio and her husband Mark. Also surviving are her cherished nephews, Anthony Doviak and Steven DiGenio.

Arrangements were under the direction of Reilly Funeral Home in Belmar. A funeral Mass was held at the Church of Saint Rose in Belmar, and entombment took place at Atlantic View cemetery in Manasquan.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73123-1718 in loving memory of Angela.
