CHARLES W. DAALDER, 84, of Middletown died Aug. 16 at New York University Medical Center, New York City. Born in Bayport, N.Y., he resided in Rego Park, N.Y., prior to moving to Middletown 20 years ago. Mr. Daalder was an engineer at New York Telephone Co., New York City, for 37 years, retiring in 1981. He served with the U.S. Marines during World War II, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He was a member of the New York Telephone Pioneers of America, and the Knights of Columbus Mother Cabrini Council, Middle Village, N.Y. He served as a leader of Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Explorers, in Queens, N.Y. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary J. Malloy Daalder, in 2002. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles J. and Mary Daalder of Tinton Falls; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lorraine M. and Patrick Connolly of the Lincroft section of Middletown, and Mary Ellen Daalder of Middletown; and four grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was offered at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft, followed by burial at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown.
EDWARD W. HENNESSEY, 86, of Little Silver died Aug. 30 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Meriden, Conn., he resided in Little Silver the past 49 years. Mr. Hennessey was a retired senior methods engineer at Bendix Corp., Eatontown. He served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, where he was a former member of the Holy Name Society. He was a charter member of the Eatontown Elks, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Red Bank Council. He was also a member of the Society of Mechanical Engineers. He enjoyed time with his family, football, cards, and bowling. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy J. Dippel Hennessey, in 2000; a brother, Joseph Hennessey; and a son, John M. Hennessey, in 2000. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Denise Hennessey of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Michael Dunfee of Kinsman, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Maura Hennessey of Tinton Falls; two brothers, Frank Hennessey of Palm City, Fla., and John Hennessey of Jupiter, Fla.; and eight grandchildren. ANN M. STINSON, 65, of Sea Bright died Aug. 27 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Lynn, Mass., she resided in Red Bank for 10 years before moving to Sea Bright 10 years ago. Mrs. Stinson was a registered nurse at Riverview Medical Center the past 12 years. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson, where she was a member of the Altar Guild. She was a member of the Retired Officers Club Auxiliary, and the Nine Hole Ladies Golf Club, both Fort Monmouth. Mrs. Stinson is survived by her husband, George W. Stinson; two sons, George W. Stinson of New York City and William C. Stinson of Spokane, Wash.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and David Hunt of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Margaret and George Wolf of Jersey City; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Lois Casey of Whitensville, Mass.; and one granddaughter. FRANCIS X. MOORE, 70, of Holmdel, died Aug. 9 following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He resided in Little Silver for 30 years, prior to moving to Holmdel three years ago. He was an attorney in Red Bank. Prior to that, he was employed at the F.B.I., and a patrolman and detective in the Intelligence Squad of the New York City Police Department while attending law school. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He had defended clients in New Jersey Municipal, Superior, Federal and Supreme courts, as well as the New York court system. He was appointed as the New Jersey representative to the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Investigations of Organized Crime, and as Deputy Attorney General in the State of New Jersey Criminal Division. He held memberships in the American, Federal, New Jersey State and Monmouth Bar Associations, as well as the American Trial Lawyers Association. He was a current trustee emeritus and trustee of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of the Jersey Shore, member and trustee of the 200 Club of Monmouth County and 200 Club of Ocean County, and member and past president of Kiwanis International, Lincroft section of Middletown; BPOE, Red Bank; and the Knights of Columbus, Fair Haven. He was also a member of the Honor Legion of Police, State of New Jersey, and Retired Patrolmen’s Association, and Detective’s Endowment Association, both New York City. He was proclaimed as a life member in Kingston’s National Registry of Who’s Who in 2002 and awarded the distinction of Most Influential Municipal Court Attorney in New Jersey by the New Jersey State Bar Association, Municipal Court Committee. He is recognized as a founding member of the National College for DUI Defense Inc., and served on its board of regents. He was also the first individual to be board certified by the College in 2000. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Harriett Rogers Moore of Holmdel; three daughters, Christine Moore of Rumson, Ann-Therese Moore of Middletown, and Tara Louise Moore of Holmdel; two sons, Francis X. Moore Jr. of Lincroft, and Timothy Rogers of Ann Arbor, Mich.; his sister, Ann Duffy of Lakewood; his brother, Gerald Moore of Rochester, N.Y.; and five grandchildren. DAVID J. WALKER, 41, of Little Silver died Aug. 18 at home. Born in Red Bank, he lived in Rumson and Shrewsbury prior to moving to Little Silver eight years ago. He was a real estate appraiser. His memberships included the Red Bank Elks, Monmouth County Realtor Association, and Appraisal Institute - National Organization. He enjoyed soccer and coached at various schools and Ocean Township Recreation and served as referee for the Monmouth County District. He was a graduate of Red Bank High School and Elmira College, New York. He was predeceased by a nephew, Kenneth L. Walker IV. He is survived by his parents, Lorraine and Kenneth L. Walker Jr. of Little Silver; his grandmother, Frances P. BRIAN VINCENT DELANEY, 54, of Rumson, died June 18 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Middletown prior to moving to Rumson 16 years ago. He was a fifth grade teacher and student council adviser at Joseph Bolger Middle School, Keansburg, the past 30 years. He was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Keansburg, as well as the National, New Jersey and Monmouth County Education Associations. He volunteered and was known as the "Snackbar Man" at Camp Arrowhead, Marlboro. He enjoyed time with his family, and was active in the community. He was predeceased by a brother, Francis Delaney; and two sisters, Jacqueline Delaney and Mary Jahn. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda A. Delaney of Rumson; two sons, Conor F. JACQUELINE ROSE COLLINS of Hazlet died June 21 at Hackensack Medical Center following a long battle with cancer. Born in France, she resided in Union City prior to moving to Hazlet 35 years ago. She was office manager and secretary at Dr. Krishnan Gopal Oncology and Hematology, Holmdel, for 12 years. She is survived by her husband, William J. Collins of Hazlet; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Gary J. and Danielle Collins, Christopher W. Collins, and David J. Collins, all of Hazlet; her mother, Helene Micheletto of Manchester; two sisters, Myriam Condello of Tinton Falls, and Marsele Ramiez of Hasbrouck Heights; a brother, Michel Seidenari of Florida; and one granddaughter. EUGENE J. DENTE SR., 94, of West Long Branch died June 13 at home. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he resided in Highlands and Neptune before moving to West Long Branch in 1950. Mr. Dente was a retired avionics technician/draftsman for the U.S. Army at Fort Monmouth from 1942-72, and received an official commendation for meritorious performance of duty from the Army Resource Conservation Program in 1971. Prior to that, he worked with the U.S. Army at Fort Hancock, where he was involved in the development of radar. He was also a clerk on Wall Street. Fluent in six languages, he served as an interpreter of French, Spanish and Italian for the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service at Ellis Island from 1934-41. He was a communicant of St. Jerome’s Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch. He was a special police officer, volunteering at St. Jerome’s, and served as a security guard at Shore Regional High School, West Long Branch. He enjoyed history, classical music, cooking, and the Yankees. Mr. Dente was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Orrico Dente, in 1997. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick A. and Marjorie Dente of Hawaii, John V. and Lorraine Dente of Long Branch, and Eugene J. and Sharon Dente of the Wayside section of Ocean Township; two daughters and sons-in-law, Clementina Dente Moss and James Moss of the Elberon section of Long Branch, and Theresa Dente Zuluaga and Robert Zuluaga of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
