Jean Marie McNulty
Jean Marie McNulty, of Wall, died Tuesday, Jan. 10 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, in Neptune.

Born in New York City, and raised in Irvington-On-Hudson, N.Y., Mrs. McNulty and her husband, James, resided in Chappaqua, New York, before moving here 10 years ago.

A graduate of Syracuse University, Jean was a homemaker.

Mrs. McNulty is survived by her husband of 46 years, James E. McNulty; her son and his wife Thomas F. X. and Ellen McNulty, of Baltimore, Md.; her brother and his wife Francis and Claudia Gasparini, of Irvington-On-Hudson, N.Y.; and her sister Trudy Mahoney, of Wall. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Thomas F.X., and William A. McNulty.

Arrangements were under the direction of the O’Brien Funeral Home in Wall. A visiting will be held on Thursday and Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dwyer and Vanderbilt Funeral Home, in Tarrytown, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception RC Church in Irvington, N.Y. Burial will follow in Sleepy Hollow cemetery in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.

Fred E. Niemeyer
Fred E. Niemeyer of Sea Girt, died Wednesday, Jan. 4 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 72.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Penn., Fred was raised in Kingston, Penn. and lived in Metuchen for 22 years before moving to Sea Girt 17 years ago. Before retiring after 40-years of service, he was a manager for Bell Atlantic in East Brunswick. After retiring, community service was Fred’s passion. He proudly served on the Sea Girt Planning Board, was a member of the Town Council for 12 years, and was Council President for a three year term that ended a few days ago, on Dec. 31. He also served in Sea Girt as Police Commissioner, Fire Commissioner and as Council Chairman in charge of Public Works.

He has received many acknowledgements and awards for his exemplary service, including Honors by the State Senate and the American Public Works Association. His efforts were instrumental in securing grants to support public projects, most notably the pavilion, handicap access and gazebos along Sea Girt’s Board Walk.

Fred was predeceased by his parents Fred and Joann Niemeyer and his brother Frank Niemeyer.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 51 years Phyllis Niemeyer; his son Kevin, daughter-in-law Jennifer; and two grandchildren, Addison and Cameron of Yardley, Penn. Also surviving are his brother Donald Niemeyer and his wife Lorrain of Manchester; sister Maureen Ehret and her husband Jim, of Willow Street, Penn.; sister Joann Rieger, of Kingston, Penn.; sister in-law Marie Niemeyer, of South Plainfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements were under the direction of the O’Brien Funeral Home in Wall. A funeral Service was held at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Sea Girt Police Fire Association, 319 Baltimore Blvd., Sea Girt.

Edward DeBiasio Jr.
Edward DeBiasio Jr., of Wall, passed away Friday, Jan. 6 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune with his devoted family at his side. He was 74.

Born and raised in Elizabeth, Edward had lived in Roselle and then Plainfield before moving to Wall Township in 1972. Ed was very active in athletics in Wall Soccer Club for many years, serving as a Tournament Director several times and as a referee official. He was also a referee with the Monmouth-Ocean Soccer Association actively until 2009.

He was a graduate of Monmouth College and had been employed as an Electronics Purchasing Agent for many local companies and at the time of his retirement in 2000 he was working for Frequency Engineering in Farmingdale. Edward proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 to 1959 and as a reserve member from 1959 to 1965. He enjoyed being a member of the Marine Corps League in Freehold.

Edward is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Mary Ellen Yates DeBiasio; his devoted children and their spouses, Joanne and John D. Ahern III, of Danvers, Mass., and Scott and Nicole DeBiasio, of Neptune City; his dear sister Sandra Natkie and husband Bud, of Brick; and his two treasured grandchildren Teagan and Connor Ahern. He is also survived by several caring nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were under the direction of the O’Brien Funeral Home in Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Holy Innocents Church in Neptune. Burial took place at the N.J. Veterans Memorial cemetery in Arneytown.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Wall Township First Aid and Rescue Squad, PO Box 1105 in Wall.

John H. Lansing
John H. Lansing, life long resident of Manasquan, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 89.

Mr. Lansing was a piano technician for over 50 years before retiring three years ago. He was an decorated WWII veteran of the United States Navy and was the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church in Manasquan. John sang in the church choir, the Manasquan Mens Chorus and the Barber Shop Quartet. He was a member of the Piano Technician's Guild, an avid tennis player and swimmer. John was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Lansing was pre-deceased by his daughter, Noreen, two brothers, Earl and James Lansing, and his sister, Marjorie Clark.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Elizabeth A. [Cook]; beloved daughter, Alissa K. Lansing, of Allenwood; a sister, Sylvia Strayer-Creighton, of Pennsylvania; and his grandson, Michael H. Hamilton, of Allenwood.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home in Manasquan. Interment was private with military honors at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Embracing Hospice Care, 2101 Hwy. 34 South, Wall or Salvation Army, 605 Asbury Ave., Asbury Park.

Timothy Wayne Grace
Timothy Wayne Grace, of Manasquan, died Wednessday, Jan. 4 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. He was 66.

Born in San Marcos, Texas, he grew up in Oklahoma and lived in Point Pleasant, before moving to Manasquan 36 years ago.

Mr. Grace was a Electrician for I.B.E.W. Local 400 in Wall for over 30 years before retiring 10 years ago. He was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Manasquan United Methodist Church and also sang in the choir. Member of I.B.E.W. Local 400 in Wall. Tim coached for girls softball and Little League Baseball and also was an Umpire. He loved to fish, but mostly he loved spending time with his family.

Mr. Grace is survived by his wife Susan [Neary] and is also survived by one son, David and his wife Joilyn, of Brick; three daughters, Jennifer, Megan and Andrea, all of Red Bank; two grandchildren, Kierney and Keegan.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home in Manasquan. Cremation was private.

Daniel Sinnott Sr.
Daniel Sinnott Sr., with family in Wall, passed away on Dec. 15 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla. At his passing, Dan was surrounded by his loving family. He was 77.

He was born in Hillside on July 11, 1934 to William and Bertha Sinnott. Dan was a business pioneer, starting two high tech companies in Monmouth County which influenced and employed thousands of people throughout the country. In 1966, with co-founder Jim Bruno, Dan started Interdata, Inc of Oceanport. Interdata designed and manufactured 16 and 32-bit minicomputers. In 1980, Dan and Jim co-founded Syntrex, Inc. of Eatontown. Syntrex developed and manufactured office automation and word processing systems. Dan always had an open door policy and wanted to make sure that people were having fun while working hard. Dan was on the Board of Trustees for Monmouth University and several high tech companies.

Dan was currently employed as Director of Finance for Sinnott Wolach Technology Group.

Dan's loss will be felt by so many that enjoyed his company.

Surviving Dan is his loving wife Margaret, with whom he moved to the PGA National community in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. in 1993. He is also survived by his children with Nancy Sinnott, Daniel, Jr., Jeffrey and wife Cristine, Diane Lomet and husband Victor, Paul and wife Donna; nine grandchildren; brothers William and Frank and sister Johanna Mims; brother in law Terry; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dan attended Hillside High School, Newark College of Engineering, and also received a master's degree from Ohio State University. As a proud American, Dan served in the U.S. Air Force. Dan's many hobbies include boating and fishing out of Brielle, model railroading, watching Fox News and golfing. Dan was fortunate to be a member of Deal Golf Club in Deal and PGA National Golf Club. Traveling the world was a major part of Dan's business and personal life. Dan attended church at Holy Spirit, Asbury Park, St. Anselm's, Wayside and St. Patrick's, Fla.

A memorial gathering celebrating Dan's life will be held in Jan. 14 from 1-4 p.m. at Orender Family Home for Funerals in Manasquan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, Fla. 33407.

Frederick A. Heckelmann
Frederick A. Heckelmann, of Spring Lake Heights, died Thursday, Jan. 5, at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune under hospice care. He was 94.

He was a resident of the Arbors. Born in Carteret, Frederick lived there before moving to Union Beach. He attended St. James Catholic School in Red Bank.

Frederick proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II, earning various service awards including an award from the Federation of French War Veterans. He served his country in England, France, and Germany from 1941 to 1945. He was a mechanic, a member of the 559th Bomber Squandron, and was in the Military Police.

Frederick was a special police officer in Union Beach and a councilman for 10 years. He was a member of the American Legion. Frederick worked as a salesman until retiring in 1999.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Doris Marie Heckelmann [nee Werner] in the year 2000 and his three brothers, Robert, Joseph, and George.

Surviving is his daughter Helen Sproul, of Brick; his brother William and Edna Heckelmann, of Port Monmouth; and two grandchildren, Mark Sproul and his wife Alexandra, and Susan Sproul Liggett and her husband Mark Liggett. Frederick also leaves behind five great-grandchildren, Abby and Allison Sproul and Matthew, Danny, and Megan Liggett.

Arrangements were under the direction of the O’Brien Funeral Home in Wall. A funeral service with military honors took place, and committal will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the Wounded Warrier Project, 370 7th Ave., 3rd Floor, Room 320, New York City.

Julia G. Horan
Julia G. Horan [nee Fitzgerald], of Sea Girt, passed away peacefully on Jan. 10. She was 88.

Born in Manasquan, Julia and her four siblings were raised by their loving parents, David and Mary Fitzgerald. Julia was married to her beloved John Joseph Horan [former CEO and Chairman of the Board of Merck & Co. who passed in January of 2011], with whom she had four beautiful children. They lived in Westfield and Whitemarsh, Penn. [while always summering at the shore] before moving to Sea Girt full-time in 1990. Julia was a full-time mother and homemaker, parishioner of St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church, and member of the Spring Lake Bath & Tennis Club, Spring Lake Golf Club, and the Green Gables Croquet Club. Julia was the consummate entertainer who played hostess to countless friends, dignitaries, and politicians. She will be dearly missed.

Julia was predeceased by her husband, as well as her brother David Fitzgerald, and sisters Helen Foster and Ann Gearity.

She is survived by her devoted daughter Mary Alice Ryan and her husband John, of Spring Lake; and her adoring sons Thomas M. Horan and wife Kate, of Hoboken, John J. Horan, Jr. and wife Patricia, of Sea Girt, and David F. Horan and wife Michele, of Armonk, N.Y. Julia also leaves her nine grandchildren: Buck, Jack, Martha, Edward, Thomas, Julia, Alanna, Matthew, and Jack; great grandsons Declan and Finn, as well as her sister Mary Quinn, of Tinton Falls.

Arrangements were under the direction of O’Brien Funeral Home in Wall. Visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark’s RC Church in Sea Girt, on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 9:30 a.m. followed by interment at St. Catharine’s Cemetery.

Donations in Julia’s name are requested to Camp Sunshine, 35 Acadia Road, Casco, Maine 04015.

Margaret Russo
Margaret Russo, of Wall, died peacefully on Jan. 7, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center; she was a resident of Care One at Wall. She was 89.

Margaret was born in Bayonne and lived there most of her life as a homemaker and raised two children.

She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Russo, who died in 1993. Also, her siblings John Kling, Joseph Kling, Fred Kling, Magdalena Bauer, Bertha Smith, Anna Campbell, as well as, her parents Johann Baptist Kling and Anna Kling [nee Trager] who immigrated to the US from Bavaria Germany and also lived in Bayonne.

Margaret is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Judith and Robert Doherty and one son. She is also survived by her granddaughters Bevin Doherty, of Wall, Tiffany Marquis and her husband Sgt. Brian Marquis, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.; as well, as two great-grandchildren Austin Tyler Marquis and Brian Marquis Jr. Margaret is also survived by her nieces, Mary Ann Snelgrove, of Brick, Adrienne and husband Thomas Caiola, of Bayonne, Nancy Campbell, of Bayonne, Carol Dzikowski, of Bayonne, Jennie and Patrick Pagano, of Edison; and grand-nieces and nephews from Bayonne.

Judy Doherty and her family Robert and Bevin would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the nursing staff, nurses’ aides, physical therapy staff, volunteers and the rest of the staff at Care One at Wall for all their help in making Margaret’s final years pleasant and enjoyable - their unending patience and care with the elderly is top notch. The Doherty family would also like to thank the staff at Jersey Shore University Medical Center ER, NW Pavilion, ICU and all the doctors and nurses/aides involved in Margaret’s care; they were very attentive and caring.
