Muriel Rogers
Muriel Rogers, of Brielle, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Oct. 23, at her home. She was 90.
Mrs. Rogers worked as a volunteer at Overlook Hospital in Summit and the VNA Thrift Shop in Manasquan for over 20 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her life was her family.
Muriel is pre-deceased by her husband, Redmond, in 2002, and is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Greer and her husband, Robert, of Tinton Falls; three grandchildren, Jessie Schroeder and her husband, Bjorn, Tod Thiele and Scott Thiele; and two great-grandchildren, Elsie and Hailey Schroeder.
Arrangements were taken care of by Neary-Quinn Funeral Home in Manasquan. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the VNA of Central Jersey Hospice at 176 Riverside Ave., Red Bank, 07701.
Margaret J. Messick Conklin
Margaret J. “Maggie” Messick Conklin, of Manasquan, died Thursday, Oct. 20. She was 28.
Born in Neptune, she lived in Manasquan all of her life, before moving to Freeport, N.Y. six months ago. Maggie was a receptionist for Scalamandre & Sons in Freeport, NY. Maggie loved yoga and watching movies.
She is survived by her parents, David and Mary Messick, of Manasquan; two sisters, Katherine Messick at home and Heather Thom and her husband, Chris, of Nashville, Tenn.; her maternal grandmother, Jeanne Wellinghorst, of Brielle; and her very special niece, Micaela Philhower. Also many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan, handled the arrangements. The funeral services were at St. Denis Church, in Manasquan and interment took place at Atlantic View Cemetery, also in Manasquan.

Walter Lewis Kudlacik
Walter Lewis Kudlacik, with relatives in Sea Girt and a longtime resident of Jersey City, died peacefully at his home in Neptune surrounded by his family and friends on Saturday, Oct. 22 after fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 65.
A graduate of St. Aloysius Elementary School, Marist High School, and St. Peter’s College, Walter enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve in the Vietnam War as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 1st Calvary Division. After a long career in manufacturing with Milton Can Company, Walter retired to the New Jersey Shore. An avid pool player and dedicated golfer, Walter could be found on the links - rain, snow, or shine.
Walter was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, the Order of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh of the Jersey Shore, and the American Poolplayers Association.
He was predeceased by his parents, Walter “Ben” and Alice [Sutcliffe] Kudlacik.
Walter is survived by his wife, Ellen Marie [Kelly] Kudlacik; daughter Kristen, and her husband William Mountford, of Sea Girt; son, Scott and his wife Eileen, of Scituate, Mass.; grandchildren, Elle Lake Mountford and Katherine Carson Mountford; brother George and his wife Sheila; brother William; brother Robert and his wife Sharon; brother Lenny and his wife, Loo Ding; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Avon-by-the-Sea. Interment
will follow in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, in Arneytown.

Robert Doull
Robert Doull, 85 of Brick, went home to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, with his family by his side.
Robert was born in Newark and raised in Belleville. He lived in Westfield for 13 years and Spring Lake Heights for 15 years before moving to Brick.
Robert was a naval veteran of World War II. He worked for Reynolds Metals, Woodbridge for 17 years as a quality control officer.
Robert was an active member of the Allenwood Church for over 20 years. He would volunteer his time by visiting Sunnyside Manor and spend time with the residents. He was also a gate guard for Sea Girt beach for 15 years.
Robert was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Anita, in 1993 and his sister, Margarite Warchal.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, John and Susan Doull, of Point Pleasant; a daughter and a son-in-law, Anna Lynne and Christopher Bogner, of Brick; and two grandchildren, Evan and Sean.

Joseph J. Skoczen
Joseph J. Skoczen, 68, of Brick and formerly of Point Pleasant, passed away Thursday, Oct. 13 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a longtime Point Pleasant resident and lived in Brick for the past three years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. Mr. Skoczen was a former member and past trustee of the Bay Head Shores Property Owners Association and member of Durand Lodge, No. 179, F. & A.M.
Joseph’s love of the water brought he and Jean to Bay Head Shores in 1973. He liked boating and family lobster bakes.
He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Skoczen.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Lockman Skoczen; three daughters, Cheryl Puciul and her husband Frank, of Point Pleasant, Debbie Winder, of Brick, and Bonnie Durkin and her husband Butch, of Point Pleasant; and by his mother, Leona Scherler of Lake Worth, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Michael and Rachele Puciul, Tyler, Kyle and Morgan Winder, Joseph Salmons, and Wayne and Erin Durkin; two great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Wayne; brothers, Robert and his wife Simone and Kurt and his wife Debbie; and many family friends.

Carolyn E. Nauss
Carolyn E. Nauss, 78, of Brick, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
Born in Irvington, to the late Hans and Ruth [McGuire], she was a 60-year resident of Point Pleasant Beach before moving to Brick in 2004.
Mrs. Nauss was a graduate of Point Pleasant Beach High School and the Wilford Beauty Academy, and past president of the Jersey Shore Twin Mother’s Club.
She had worked as a hairdresser for 50 years, retiring from Duchess and Princess Salon, Wall.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert; two sons, Jonathan of Point Pleasant Beach and Christopher of Long Beach, Calif.; two daughters, Marilyn Nauss of San Franciso, Calif. and Nora Price and her husband Roger of Smithville; one brother, Thomas McGuire of Miami, Fla. and Sharon Buske of Byhalia, Miss.
There will be a gathering of friends from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21 at the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, with a service at 7 p.m.

Patricia L. Bruno Clayton
Patricia L. [Bruno] Clayton, 69 of Brick, died on Monday, Oct. 17 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick.
She was born and raised in Point Pleasant and moved to Brick 18 years ago.
Mrs. Clayton was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed and is forever in our hearts.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert W. Clayton Sr., in 1999.
She is survived by her sons, James B. Dunbar and his wife Christine, of Powell, Tenn., Scott M. Clayton and his wife Pamela, of Manahawkin, and Robert W. Clayton Jr. and his wife Jennifer, of Point Pleasant; her daughters, Dawn A. Schulz and her husband Richard, of Point Pleasant, Kim L. Hart and her husband Michael, of Belmar, Lisa L. Francis and her husband Edward, of Georgia, and Heather M. Matera and her husband Nicholas, of Howell; two sisters, Joan Squitieri, of Columbus, S.C., and Barbara Roselli, of Brick; 21 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, Bay Head. Interment
is private.

John P. Sedlak
John P. Sedlak, 84, of Brick, passed away on Oct. 16 at his home in Brick.
Born in Bayonne, he resided in Point Pleasant Beach and Brick most of his life.
Mr. Sedlak was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II. After graduating Seton Hall University, he went on to become founder and president of J.P. Sedlak Associates in Hoboken for more than 30 years.
John was a former member of the Spring Lake Golf Club, with great dedication to the sport, and enjoyed spending much of his time on the course.
Surviving are his sons, Jonathan Sedlak of Fox Fire Village, N.C., Matthew Sedlak, of Chatham, and Mark Sedlak, Fort Meyers, Fla.; his loving daughters, Leigh Anne Buyon, of Manasquan, and Patricia Osheroff, of Cherry Hill; his sister, Mary Kelly, of Bayonne; and his cherished 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
O’Brien Funeral Home, Brick, was in charge of arrangements. Interment
will be private.
Kathleen Decker Hogan
Kathleen Decker Hogan, 91, of Point Pleasant, passed away Friday, Oct. 14.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late Joseph and Mary [Corliss] Decker, she was formerly of Bay Head and resided in Point Pleasant for more than 60 years.
Mrs. Hogan was a retired secretary, working for Pleasant Beach High School for 20 years. She later worked for the Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce.
She was a devoted communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Bay Head, where she was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society and the Evangelization Team. Mrs. Hogan also served the parish as a CCD instructor, eucharistic minister and secretary to the late Monsignor William E. Maguire.
Her sisters, Mary Decker and Eleanor Hogan, predeceased her.
Surviving are her son, Christopher McFeat and his wife Laura, of Lynchburg, Va.; three daughters, Kathleen Engelhard, of Leesburg, Fla., Patricia Thompson and her husband Jeff, of Point Pleasant, and Judith Koehler and her husband Wayne, of Brick; eight grandchildren, Alex, Emily, Jonathan, Phillip, Jeffrey, Mathew, Kimberly and Ryan; and seven great-grandchildren, Devin, Kayla, Aidan, Matthew, Mathew, Kylee and Jonathan.
