Elvira Maria Falivena
Elvira Maria Falivena, 88, of Wall [Allaire Crossings], passed away on Tuesday, June 21, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, with her family present.
Elvira was born in Newark to her parents Francesco and Anna Carbone on May 20, 1923. She moved to Ocean Grove in early 1960. Elvira was a security guard for the senior residences Epworth, Francis Asbury Manor and Salvation Army, all of Ocean Grove.
Elvira is survived by a daughter, Sandra Carlet of Spring Lake Heights; a sister, Geraldine Carbone of Lyndhurst; two granddaughters, Jennifer Carlet- Byscek of Wall and Lisa Carlet of Ft. Collins, Colo.
Arrangements are under the direction of Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. There will be a private service at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge. Memorial donations may be made to Meridian Hospice 1345 Campus Parkway Suite A2 Neptune, NJ 07753.
Donna Lutz Skribner
Donna Lutz Skribner of Avon passed away on Sunday July 3 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 51 years old. Donna worked as a waitress at La Dolce Vita in Belmar and previously at Mom’s kitchen in Neptune and the Old Mill Inn in Spring Lake Heights. She was born in Elizabeth and lived in Rahway before moving to Avon full time 28 years ago. Donna was a devoted and loving mother, daughter and sister who will be deeply missed by her family.
Donna is predeceased by her father W. Donald Lutz.
She is survived by her 3 children; Stephen Robert Skribner, Justin E. Skribner and Erica Rose Skribner all of Avon, her mother Mary Joan Lutz of Sea Girt, her brother John Lutz and his wife Karen of Whitehouse Station, her sister Barbara Lutz and her dear companion Greg Stafford of Shark River Hills, and her nephews Austin and Jordan Lutz, and her dog Charlie.
Reilly Funeral Home, Belmar, was in charge of arrangements.
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be offered on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Saint Elizabeth’s RC Church in Avon. Committal will be at Saint Anne’s cemetery in Wall Township.

Grace Vereb
Grace Vereb, 98, of Manasquan died Sunday July 3, at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Mrs. Vereb was born in the Keasby section of Woodbridge, and had lived in Perth Amboy all her life before moving to Manasquan 5 years ago. She was a parishioner of the Magyar Reformed Church in Perth Amboy.
Grace was predeceased by her parents Esther and Alexander Sebesky, 3 brothers Walter, Alex and Joseph and 2 sisters Margaret Kusiw and Ethel Pavlovics.
She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Dorothy and Michael Budzek of Manasquan and Eileen Gaissert of Lakewood. She is also survived a grandson Gregory Gaissert, a great granddaughter Gina Niccole Gaissert and a sister Irma Lawrence.
Private funeral services will be conducted by Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan on July 8 followed by a graveside service at the Calvary cemetery of Magyar Reformed Church in Hopelawn.
Dawn Michelle Steiner
Dawn Michelle Steiner, 43, of Brielle passed away at Jersey Shore University Medical Center Friday, July 1, with her family by her side.
For two years, Dawn fought a courageous battle with a terminal illness. She was born in Livingston, and raised in Manasquan, where she attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Dawn was a 1986 graduate of Manasquan High School and attended Monmouth University and Florida State University. She lived in Charleston, S.C. for 10 years before coming back to the shore area in 2006. Dawn’s effervescent personality and strong work ethic were evident as both a graphic artist and bartender. Dawn was generous, compassionate, and full of life. She had a big heart and will always be remembered for her beautiful, contagious smile.
Dawn is survived by her cherished daughter Avery Michelle Brewer of Charleston S.C.; her beloved mother which whom she lived with Eleanor Steiner of Brielle; her father George Steiner of Ocean Grove; an adoring sister and brother-in-law Denise and Pat Donohue; a loving brother and sister-in-law George and Denise Steiner both of Wall. Aunt Dawny is also survived by three nieces and one nephew Dakota Donohue, Paige Donohue, Courtney Steiner and Patrick Donohue. Also, Dawn’s dearest companion Jay Krebs of Wall, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Avery was the apple of Dawn’s eye, so in Dawn’s spirit, memorial donations may be made to Orender Family Home for Funerals, c/o Avery Brewer.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday, July 7 from 1-3 and 7-9 p.m. at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, at Manasquan United Methodist Church, Manasquan.
Shirley Jane Drake
Shirley Jane Drake, 91, of Wall Township died on July 1. Born in Bloomfield, she was a graduate of the Bloomfield High School Class of 1937, she moved to Wall in 1945. Predeceased by her son Stephen Drake in 1986, Mrs. Drake is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years Harry Drake, her three cherished grandchildren Diane, Janel, and Adam, along with her 3 special great-grandchildren.

John A. Lawrence II
John A. Lawrence II, 89, of Brick formerly of Sea Girt died on July 2 at his home.
Mr. Lawrence was a civil engineer for the State of NJ working at the Passaic Valley Sewage Commission. He was a U.S. Army Veteran during WWII from 1943 to 1946. He proudly served in both Normandy Beach and Central France. Mr. Lawrence was a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick and was a member of the Manasquan VFW post No. 1838 and very active in the Manasquan Elks No. 2534. Born in Newark, he lived in Weatherford Connecticut and Sea Girt for many years before moving to Brick 9 years ago.
Predeceased by his loving wife Elizabeth B. Lawrence in 2005 and three sisters Gertrude Lawrence, Marge Tribou and Mary Virginia Bernstorf. Surviving are his son John A. Lawrence III of Brick, daughters Eileen Green and her husband Edward of Jacksonville Fla., Marilyn Ritacco of Ocean Township, and Laura Lawrence, also of Jacksonville, Fla. He also leaves his four grandchildren Jonathan, Carl and Alex Ritacco and Matthew Forkan.
Visiting will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the O’Brien Funeral Home 2028 Hwy 35 Wall. The service will be held at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial

Victor Banse Alling
Victor Banse Alling, 78, died Wednesday morning, June 29 at Monmouth Medical Center with his loved ones at his side, after a heroic struggle with cancer.
He lived in New York, Virginia, Maryland and for the last 19 years in Spring Lake Heights. He was an Independent Pest Control Operator and was known as “Best-Rid-A-Pest.”
He received his B.S. from New York University in commerce, accounts and finance.
He loved golf and music and never shied away from a good debate.
Victor is survived by his wife Susan Simmons-Alling, his daughter Vikki Alling Faudie, son-in-law Christopher Faudie and a brother Douglas Alling.

Charles J. Stefano
Charles J. Stefano of Wall Township, formerly of Kearny, passed away Friday July 1, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Charlie was a proud USMC veteran. He was chef at the family owned Cowbarn Restaurant, Wall Township, and later along with his wife Linda opened the Country Kitchen in Spring Lake Heights. He was employed at PlastiClad Metal Products in Wall Township for 20 years. Charlie loved cooking holiday dinners for his family, Monmouth Park racetrack, trips to A.C., but above all was his love for his family.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Dolly Stefano and brother Ray.
He is survived by Linda his wife of 37 years, sons, J.C. of Brielle, Joe, Hudson, N.Y., Tom, Wall Township, Stephen and Charles, Florida Keys, daughters Charlene Gravely and husband John, Ellijay, Ga., Michelle Springer and husband Paul, Summerland Key, Fla., 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
To aid lung cancer research, Charlie participated in a clinical trial at the Cancer Institute of NJ. His final wish was fulfilled by donating his body to science to UMDNJ, Newark.
A celebration of Charlie’s life will be at a later date.
Barbara A. Panasuk
Barbara A. Panasuk, 79 of Wall passed away Sunday, June 26 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Barbara was born and raised in Allenwood. She was a graduate of Manasquan High School, class of 49, and Monmouth Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1952. Barbara worked at Monmouth Memorial Hospital with children affected by polio. After her marriage to George Panasuk, Barbara became a fulltime homemaker. She loved to garden, was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and was a true animal lover. Barbara also thoroughly enjoyed craft work which included knitting, goose egg painting, and making homemade Christmas ornaments. She excelled at being a full time mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Barbara was predeceased by her mother Emma Poland, step father Manfred Poland, an aunt Geraldine Warden and an uncle Holmes Wilson.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years George Panasuk of Wall; four sons and three daughters-in-law, George and Carol Panasuk of Colliersville, Tenn., Dr. Bruce and Cindy Panasuk of Landenberg, Pa., Stephen Panasuk and fiancee Linda Jones of Point Pleasant, and Dr. Gregory and Susie Panasuk of Wall. Barbara is also survived by a step sister Adrianne Griffo of southwest Florida, and 10 grandchildren, Michael, Brian, Elizabeth, Emily and Justin Cross, John, Stephen Jr., Robert, Nicole, Alexandra and Luke; 2 great-grandchildren, Selah and Libby.

Robin L. Hoffarth
Robin L. Hoffarth, 49, of Brick, died Saturday, July 2. Born in Neptune, she lived in Wall Township and Union Beach, before moving to Brick 20 years ago.
Robin worked at the Philadelphia Race Track in Philadelphia, Pa. as a Groom Elite for the past 5 years. She loved barrel racing; taking care of her horse and her family. She loved all kinds of animals.
She is survived by her husband Joseph and is also survived by her son, Brian at home, 2 daughters, Jessica of Pt. Pleasant and Michelle at home, her mother Shirley Morris of Brick and her sister, Wendy Mancini of Wall Township.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 7, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street, Manasquan. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.

Robert Coleman Forbes Jr.
Robert Coleman Forbes Jr. 54, of Belmar, passed away on Friday, June 24, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune surrounded by his loving family.
Bob worked at Fort Monmouth as a program manager with DRS Technologies at Fort Monmouth in Eatontown, for more than 20 years. Prior to that he had his own painting business and worked for his aunt and uncle Patricia and Kenneth Entwistle, owners of the Mayfair Hotel, in Belmar.
Bob was born in Baltimore Md. and has lived in Belmar for over 40 years.
He is survived by his four children, Rachel Anne Forbes, Lauren Victoria Forbes, Robert Coleman Forbes III, and Leah Nicole Forbes, all of Belmar; his brothers, Bryan Scott Forbes, of Belmar and Gary Allen Forbes, of Baltimore, Md.; his girlfriend, Leslie Lueddeke; the mother of his beloved children, Diane Rexrode; his aunt and uncle, Patricia and Kenneth Entwistle, of Belmar; his cousins, Kenny and Paul Entwistle and Jeannie and McGillis, of Belmar. He will be deeply missed by his dog Roscoe.
