Ethel Mae Fisk
Ethel Mae Fisk, 83, of Wall Township, died on June 25.
Born in Neptune, she remained a lifelong resident of Wall Township.
Mrs. Fisk was an examiner for the Teleos Garment Company of Asbury Park for many years before retiring.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Alvin Charles Fisk, in 1968, and her siblings, Anna, Charles and Robert Borden, Dorothy Pullen and Betty Morris, Mrs. Fisk is survived by her loving children Alvin Fisk and his wife Colleen of Wall Township, and Pam Mauro of Neptune, her cherished grandchildren Joseph Lewis Mauro IV, Kelly Carpenter, Allison, Adam, and Ryan Fisk, and her three special great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Fisk is also survived by her sister Jean Morris and brother Willis Borden.
The Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Wall Township, was in charge of services.
Burial
was held at the Wall United Methodist Church Cemetery, Spring Lake Heights.
Thomas Pizio III
Thomas Pizio III died Thursday, June 23, surrounded by his family at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
Born in Summit, he lived with his parents in Dunellen before growing up in Piscataway and moving to Manasquan six years ago.
A graduate of Piscataway High School, he worked for Absolute Fire Protection in South Plainfield for 29 years.
Predeceased by his parents Thomas Jr. and Joan, his paternal grandparents Thomas and Stella, his maternal grandfather James Stephenson, and his Aunt Jamie Stephenson - he leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Brad Whiting, his nephews, Stephen and Joseph, his grandmother Mary Stephenson, his uncle, Michael Pizio, his aunts and uncles, Mary Ann and Maurice Connors, and Elaine and Joel Schnitter, as well as dozens of cousins, relatives, and friends too numerous to mention.
Thomas was a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Everyone who met him considered themselves lucky, as he was always quick with a smile, a nice word, and an optimistic outlook on life, even if the Yankees weren’t doing very well that week [or season].
He will be sorely missed.
The Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan, was in charge of arrangements.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 30, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made in his name to Manasquan Hook & Ladder Co No. 1, the Manasquan First Aid Squad, or a charity of your choice.
Anne D. Cunningham
Anne D. [nee McEntee] Cunningham, 90, of Sea Girt, passed away Tuesday, June 21, at her residence with her devoted family at her side.
Born in New York, N.Y., Anne was a lifelong Brooklyn resident until moving to Sea Girt in December 1988.
Anne had been employed as an administrative assistant for Solomon Brother’s, New York, N.Y. from 1968 until her retirement in 1988.
She was predeceased by her husband, William, in 1990, her grandson, John Cunningham, and her sister, Margaret Dauphin.
Anne is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Bill and Liz, of Madison, Wisc., Jack and Joan, of Greenwich, Conn., Diane Cunningham, of Stamford, Conn., Gail and Tom Campbell, of Manasquan, and Susan and Ken Spielfogel, of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. and her 10 grandchildren and her great- granddaughter.
The O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall, was in charge of arrangements.
Burial
was in St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt.
Robert M. Miles
Robert M. Miles, 84, of Brielle, passed away Thursday, June 23, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
Robert was born in Forked River and raised in Philadelphia, Pa.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Robert was a graduate of Temple University. He was inducted into the Temple Hall of Fame for his gymnastic accomplishments.
Robert was a NCAA National Champion on the side horse and parallel bars.
Robert worked in furniture sales his whole life. He started with Simmons Mattress, then Lane Chairs Company for 20 years and Bassett Furniture for over 25 years, retiring at the age of 75.
Robert was a member of the Manasquan Elks Lodge No. 2534. He loved swimming in the Atlantic Ocean, gardening and was an avid fisherman. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family especially during the holidays.
Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Charlotte [nee Paterek] Miles, of Brielle; two sons, Robert K. Miles, of Manasquan and Kevin J. Miles and his wife, Kathleen, of Spring Lake Heights; and a daughter, Janet Miles, of Point Pleasant.
He is also survived by a brother, Jack Miles, of Florida and a sister, Joan Radle and her husband, Harvey, of Philadelphia, and several nieces and nephews.
Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan, was in charge of arrangements.
Entombment was in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.

Barbara E. Brisbane
Barbara E. Brisbane, 92, of New Richmond, Wis., formerly of Sea Girt, passed away peacefully after a long illness.
She was born in East Orange, and a long time resident of Sea Girt, and was residing at Arthur Rose Assisted Living in New Richmond, Wis. at the time of her death.
Barbara was a homemaker who enjoyed sketching and watercolors in her spare time.
Barbara is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Scott and Kate Elliot, of Manasquan, and Bruce and Sharon Elliot, of Hudson, Wis. She is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Arrangements in Wisconsin were handled by O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Orender Family Home for Funerals here in Manasquan. Services for Barbara will be private.

Margaretta Ward Logel
Margaretta Ward Logel, 88, of Sea Girt and Port Orange, Fla. passed away on Tuesday, June 28, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Bloomfield and resided there until moving to Upper Montclair.
She was a graduate from The College of St. Elizabeth in Convent Station and is a member of its Monmouth County Alumni Association, St. Mark’s Altar Rosary Society, and the Sea Girt Women’s Club.
She was a communicant of St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church, Sea Girt and Church of the Epiphany, Port Orange, Fla.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, E. Allan Logel; her four children, Mary Wheeler, Long Branch, Edward A. Logel Jr., of San Diego Calif., Ginger Kelly, of Sea Girt and Marge Pignataro, of Shrewsbury; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a sister, Marion Joyce, of Sea Girt.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Michael R. Wheeler and three brothers, Stephen D. Ward, Raymond R. Ward and George Burke Ward.
A viewing will be held privately and the Mass of Christian Burial
will be on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s RC Church, in Sea Girt.
Burial
will follow at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt.

Mary L. Megill
Toms River resident Mary L. Megill, formerly of Point Pleasant, died Thursday, March 1 in Laurelton Village Care Center, Brick Township.
She was 71 years old.
Born in Neptune, Mrs. Megill lived in Point Pleasant before moving to Toms River 10 years ago.
She was a homemaker and mother of three sons.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harold A. Jr.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Theresa, Manahawkin, Ronald and Joann, Toms River, and Harry and Catherine, Toms River; a brother, Franklin Gifford, Eatontown; a sister, Janet Skoog, Forked River; her grandchildren, Dawn, Jaime, Samantha and Gene Jr.; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 17, in St. Mary's by the Sea Church, Point Pleasant Beach, followed by a blessing in the memorial garden at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Megill’s memory may be made to St. Gregory's Pantry at St. Mary's by the Sea.
