Lawrence Benson III
Middlebury Center, Pa., resident Lawrence “Larry” Benson III, whose son lives in Point Pleasant, died Friday, March 2.
He was 68 years old.
Born in Elizabeth, Mr. Benson lived there before moving to Middlebury Center, Pa.
He was a self-employed electrician, before retiring. He was a member of Local No. 164 IBEW.
He enjoyed traveling and working.
He was predeceased by his son, Lawrence Roy Benson, and his parents, Lawrence and Elizabeth Frankowski Benson.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara A. Lepre Benson; one son, Joseph Edward Benson, Point Pleasant; his daughters-in-law, Lori Benson, Toms River, and Kathleen Benson, Point Pleasant; two brothers, Walter Benson, Lincroft, and Bob Benson, Pine Beach; one sister, Madelyn “Judy” Sims, Pinellas Park, Fla.; and five grandsons.
Funeral arrangements were from the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., Wellsboro, Pa.
Wilma G. Lardieri
Point Pleasant resident Wilma “Mimi” Gaertner Lardieri died Thursday, March 1 in her home.
She was 88 years old.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Lardieri lived there before residing in Point Pleasant for 50 years.
A secretary, Mrs. Lardieri retired from Point Pleasant Borough High School in 1980 after 25 years of service. She also was a private ceramics instructor
She was a member of the Golden Circle and St. Martha's Beehive.
She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, William.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jack and Marguerite Lardieri, and William Lardieri, all of Point Pleasant; her brother, John Gaertner, Edison; five grandchildren, Richard and his fiancee Jayne Verbeyst, William and his wife Laura, and Michael, William and Damian; and three great-grandchildren, Brittany, Dalton and Emma. She also leaves behind her neighbors, whom she considered part of her extended family, and the many fond memories of their block parties; and her companion dog, Yank.
Funeral arrangements were from the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant. Entombment was in Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.

Debbie L. Formato
Lavallette resident Debbie Lynn Formato died Saturday, March 3 in her home.
“We all were truly blessed to be loved by her. Our lives will never be the same. We have lost our light and our way. Mommy, we love you, we need you and we will always miss and remember you.”
She was predeceased by her "Pop, " Philip W. Ackermann.
Surviving are her three children, Jennifer, Peter and Mathew; her beloved mother, Dolores Ackermann; her three brothers, Thomas, James and Scott Ackermann; her beloved grandchildren, Trevor, Anthony, Hunter, Nicole, Brandon, Lillie, Samantha and Kyle; her nieces, Casey and Meagan; her nephew, Scott Jr.; and her companion, Joseph Vitale Jr.
Funeral arrangements were from the Sheenan Funeral Home, Dunellen. Cremation was at the Somerset Hills Crematory, Basking Ridge.
Ann Irene Wuelfing
Point Pleasant resident Ann Irene Wuelfing died Tuesday, March 6 in Ocean Medical Center, Brick Township.
She was 80 years old.
She was the purest manifestation of divine love most of us will encounter on Earth. Ann was devoted to the happiness and welfare of others, her husband, her children, grandchildren, her family, countless friends, St. Peter's Church, the many organizations she led, most notably the Glorious Years Club and all those who needed charity, compassion or sympathy.
She was employed as a registered nurse in private practice, then at a series of hospitals in Jersey City, before retiring.
In retirement, she was a tireless organizer of group events and trips, supervised decorating of St. Peter's Church year round and was a lector, eucharistic minister, and member of the pastoral council there. Before her marriage, she was a member of the Young Ladies Sodality of St. Anthony's Church, Jersey City.
She was predeceased in 1993 by her son, Mark Edward Wuelfing.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Howard Wuelfing Sr.; a son, Howard J. Wuelfing Jr.; a daughter, Maryanne Mildorf; a brother, Edward Kujalowicz; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are from the Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, Point Pleasant Beach. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 9 a.m. today in St. Peter's Church, Point Pleasant Beach. Burial
will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
Frank J. Sheridan
Point Pleasant resident Frank J. Sheridan died Thursday, March 1 in Ocean Medical Center, Brick Township.
He was 84 years old.
Born in Jersey City, Mr. Sheridan lived in Union until moving to Point Pleasant in 1959.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 12th Armored Infantry Division in the European Theater. He was decorated with the Bronze Star Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Purple Heart.
Mr. Sheridan had been employed with Meridian Heath System as a security officer.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4715, Point Pleasant; the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1549, Point Pleasant; and a life-member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was a communicant of St. Martha’s Church, Point Pleasant.
He was predeceased by his son, Thomas.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Regina Gartland Sheridan; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert and Laura Sheridan, Brick, and Dan Sheridan, Point Pleasant; one daughter, Rita Martin, Mount Laurel; one sister, Rita Cook, Morris Plains; his sister-in-law, Barbara Dlugosz; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were from the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant.
James M. Kaye
Point Pleasant resident James M. Kaye died Monday, March 5 in Ocean Medical Center, Brick Township.
He was 51 years old.
Born in Plainfield, Mr. Kaye was formerly of Basking Ridge and Brick before moving to Point Pleasant nine years ago.
Jim was the perennial optimist. He loved to fish and was also an avid sports fan, especially of the Giants and the Point Pleasant Boro Panthers. He loved his family and friends dearly and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his loving wife, Ginny; his daughter, Laura Anne Kaye; his parents, Joseph and Lois Kaye, Cape May Court House; one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Pamela Kaye, Bridgewater; two nephews, Joseph and Jonathan; and many dear friends.
Funeral arrangements are from the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. today in the funeral home until the Christian Wake Service at 8:30 p.m.

Jean M. Manderichio
Point Pleasant Beach resident Jean Mander Manderichio died Tuesday, Feb. 27 in Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, N.Y.
She was 97 years old.
Born in Elizabeth, Mrs. Manderichio lived in Short Hills before moving to Point Pleasant Beach 17 years ago.
She was a self-employed beautician in East Orange for over 15 years, retiring many years ago.
She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church, Point Pleasant Beach.
She was predeceased by her husband, James Peter, in 2003.
Surviving are two sons, Robert, East Hampton, N.Y., and Tony, Juno, Alaska; two daughters, Fran Lordon, Manlius, N.Y., and Judy Petry, Plainsboro; her grandchildren, Quinn and Bryce Mander, Christopher and Sara Lordon, and Jennifer MaClean; and three great-grandchildren, Riley, Ashley, and James Lordon.
Funeral arrangements were from the Colonial Funeral Home, Brick. Entombment was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

William H. Larsson
Stuart, Fla., resident William H. “Bill” Larsson, formerly of Point Pleasant, died Sunday, Feb. 25, in his home.
He was 83 years old.
Born in Jersey City, Capt. Bill resided in Point Pleasant for many years before moving to Florida in 1993.
Before his retirement, Bill was a tug boat captain for many years with Exxon traveling the waters of the Hudson River in New York. During his employment with Exxon, he was valued for his safety and diligence in maneuvering the tugs up and down the Hudson and was so noticed by Exxon with his various awards during his term of employment.
Many will remember Bill traveling the waters of the Barnegat Bay and Metedeconk and Manasquan rivers in his own tug boat, "The Larsholm." He was a member of the Fleet Tug Boat Association, the Maritime Museum, the American Legion, and AmVets in Stuart, Fla.
He was a Navy veteran and was stationed in the Pacific during World War II.
He was predeceased by his wife, Wanda B. Larsson, in 1995.
Surviving are his son, John T. Petzarek and his wife Dotty Gibbons-Petzarek, Point Pleasant; his daughters, Lorraine Petzarek Dougherty and her husband Pete, of Florida, and Kathy Khreim, Toowoomba, Australia, her husband, children, and grandchildren; his granddaughter, Tina Noon and her husband Bill together with their children, John William Noon and Jamie Nicole Noon; and his granddaughter, Lorraine "Lori" Lopian and her husband Doug; and his brothers, Charles Larsson, Jackson, and Richard Larsson, Bradenton, Fla.
Private cremation arrangements were from the Aycock Funeral Home, Stuart, Fla.
