John A. Muller Jr.
John A. Muller Jr., 83, of Manasquan, died Monday, Dec. 13 at Ocean Medical Center, in Brick.
He was born in Linden to John Arnold Sr. and Ethel [nee Lohr].
John’s early years were spend in many different communities including, Irvington, Millburn, Maplewood and finally Bay Head.
As a youth John had many different jobs including work with the A&P and as an impressive lifeguard standing 6’ 4” tall.
After graduation, from high school, John joined the Army and was assigned to the Quartermaster Corp and was stationed in northern Italy where he rose to the rank of staff sergeant.
Returning from the duty, John attended Lafayette College and was a member of Alpha Omega Fraternity.
In 1951, John married
Dorothy Smith, of Jersey City, and lived in a small Cape, in Spring Lake Heights.
In 1959, they finished their current home in Manasquan. For several years, John worked with his father, in New York City, in a part of advertising involved with printing sales.
However, John always liked to work with his hand and opened his own Custom Cabinetry Shop and later also did some general construction.
He and Dot retired about 1987 and spent time in Savannah, Ga., an area John loved and where they owned a residence and other property.
They had no children - but two dogs, Sockie and Rufus, whom they greatly loved. Dot died last year.
John is survived by his brother, Paul R. Muller, of Savannah, Ga., and his brothers-in-law William Smith, Lakewood, and Leonard Smith, Park Ridge.
Visitation will be on Friday, Dec. 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South St., Manasquan.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
James J. O’Hara
James J. O’Hara, of Wall Township, died at his home on Monday, Dec. 6, after a short illness.
He was predeceased by his parents, James and Ethel O’Hara, and by his sister, Ethel Stanley.
Mr. O’Hara was born and raised in Teaneck.
He was an Army veteran and served in the occupation of Japan after World War II. Thereafter, he entered college and graduated from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania.
He initially worked for Western Electric Company and subsequently made a career change to become a stockbroker and securities analyst. During his long and successful career, he was employed by Shearson Hammill & Co., Paine Webber, and Morgan Stanley, before retiring approximately 10 years ago. Mr. O’Hara was also a true sports enthusiast and an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants.
During his younger years, he enjoyed skiing in Vermont, playing beach volleyball at Bay Head, and participating in softball leagues in Teaneck. He also enjoyed playing tennis regularly, until his retirement, when his health would no longer permit it.
Mr. O’Hara is survived by his devoted nephew, William Stanley, his wife, Candy Stanley, and their children, William and Sarah.
Funeral arrangements were made by Volk Leber Funeral Home, in Teaneck.
Leroy Richard Stanford
Leroy Richard Stanford “Dick”, 74 of Wall passed away Monday Dec. 13, after a long terminal illness with his family by his side.
His family said that Dick fought his illness to the bitter end with a great sense of humor and strength. Dick was born and raised in Glendola. He was a firefighter in the Glendola Fire Company. Dick was the owner and operator for 36 years of Stanford Auto Body, Wall.
He was a member of the North Shore Antique Auto Club and the NAACA. Dick enjoyed restoring antique cars in his spare time.
Dick is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Stanford, Wall; two sons and their wives, Richard and Jo’al Stanford, Michael and Anne Stanford, both of New Hampshire; two daughters and their husbands, Debbie and Michael Childress, of Maryland and Sandy and Stan Manns, of Whiting. He is also survived by a brother, James Stanford and his wife, Mary, of Florida; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, was in charge of arrangements.
A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 16, at the funeral home. Interment
will follow at Glendola Cemetery, Wall.

Henry Johnson Stines
Mr. Henry Johnson Stines, 86, of Weatherford, Texas, formerly of West Belmar, died Thursday, Dec. 9 with his family at his bedside at Odyssey Hospice Center, Fort Worth, Texas from complications of a massive stroke three days earlier.
Mr. Stines, “Hank, ” was born on Aug. 20, 1924 in West Belmar, at the home of his late mother and father, Josephine A. and Earl W. Stines.
Mr. Stines lived in various areas of New Jersey for over 70 years. He attended Monmouth University in Long Branch. After serving for over three years, Henry was honorably discharged as a Yeoman Second Class in the U.S. Navy during World War II where he was honored with four medals.
On Sept. 21, 1946 he married
his wife, Rosalie Lois Stines [Knapp], in Manasquan. They celebrated their 64th anniversary this past September. After retiring in Madison, following 45 years of working for GPU/JCP&L in Asbury Park and Morristown, he moved with his wife to Point Pleasant, then to Anderson, S.C. for seven years and had been living in Weatherford, Texas for eight years when he died.
Mr. Stines was very active through the years. He was a fire chief and a member of Wall Fire Co. No.1 in Wall, from 1946-1954. He was a 60-plus year member of the Wall-Spring Lake Masonic Lodge, in Spring Lake, and a member of the Ocean Chapter Eastern Star.
In addition, he was a long-time member of the Madison, Presbyterian Church and a member of the American Legion. Hank and Lois were active square dancers and were members of three different clubs. He was a leader in Cub Scouts and Indian Guides. He was an avid league bowler from 1950-1984 winning several trophies. He very much enjoyed golfing and got his first and only hole in one at age 72.
Mr. Stines was preceded in death by his parents, Earl W. and Josephine A. Stines, his sister, Earlene Stines Hill, his daughter, Susan Carol DeButts, and his daughter, Cynthia Ann Sveda.
Henry is survived by his wife, Rosalie Lois Stines, and two sisters, Francis Bloodgood, West Belmar, and Elizabeth Geilfuss, Bedford, Mass. In addition, his son, Frederick Earl Stines, of Lawrenceville, Ga. [including his wife Emily Ross, and their children, Bryce Frederick Stines and Henry Max Stines], his daughter, Michele Stines Wilfer and her husband, Harry Wilfer.
He also leaves behind additional grandchildren, Dale DiSarno, Florida.; Andrew DiSarno, Georgia; Nicole Rotter, California; son-in-Law Ken Sveda and grandson, Damian Sveda, Texas. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who adored him.
Mr. Stines will be remembered by his family, friends and neighbors as fun-loving and everyone’s friend and confidant.

Pvt. Christopher M. Gribble
Pvt. Christopher M. Gribble, U.S. Army National Guard, 18, of Howell, formerly of Wall, passed away Thursday, Dec. 9 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Brick.
Chris was born in Long Branch, had lived in Wall for many years and then in Brick for five years before moving to Howell one month ago.
He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman and had played varsity soccer at Brick Memorial High School. He also loved his family and friends and the time he spent with all of them. His proudest accomplishment was entering the National Guard one month ago; he looked forward to serving his country wherever he was called to serve.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Barbara Gribble and his maternal grandparents, Hazel and William White.
Chris is survived by his father, Michael J. Gribble and his partner, Donna McEachran, of Brick, his mother, Patricia Albertson, of Howell with whom he lived, his sister, Jennifer Gribble, of Brick, his grandfather, Raymond Gribble Jr. and wife, Jane, of Manchester, his aunts and uncles and their spouses, Raymond Gribble III and wife, Laura, of Brick, Richard Gribble and Steven Boyce, of Freehold, Joanna White, of Brick, Mary and Kenneth Camerato, of Brick, Edward and Judy White, of Red Bank and Richard White, of Red Bank and many loving cousins.

Anne Marie Middleton
Anne Marie Middleton, of the Allenwood section of Wall Township, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 10.
Anne was born at St. Peter’s Hospital, New Brunswick, which was founded by her great-uncle, Monsignor John O’Grady of St. Peter’s Parish. She was the daughter of Callista [O’Grady] and Frank J. Brennan, Sr. Anne graduated from St. Peter’s grammar and high schools, then from Newark’s Teacher’s College. She taught special-education and fourth grade students.
Anne met David L. Middleton when he was a student at Rutgers College; they married
on Jan. 2, 1954. They raised their four children first in Somerset, then in Allenwood. After moving to Allenwood, Anne earned a master’s degree from Monmouth University with a perfect 4.0 grade average, graduating summa cum laude. She also earned additional certifications and became a learning disabilities specialist for the Wall Township Public Schools.
Upon her retirement from the school system, Anne and her husband David founded “Pot of Gold Antiques.” They specialized in flow-blue and Staffordshire china, quickly becoming accepted experts in the field. They were quoted in numerous publications including Kovel’s. Anne served a number of years on the Wall Township Library Board. She also volunteered at St. Mark’s Church.
Anne is survived by her husband, David L. Middleton; their children, Anne and her husband, George Frino, of Mendham; David and his wife, Joanne, of Wall Township; Timothy, of Manasquan; Kathleen and her husband, Edward J. Crisonino, of Beverly. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grand children, Anne [Frino] and her husband, Ryan Bergeron and their daughter, Ella, Kristen, Rebecca and Eileen Frino; David, Kyle and Jaimie Middleton; Timothy Middleton; Callista and Edward G. Crisonino; a brother Frank J. Brennan, Jr. and his wife Margaret.
The Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan, was in charge of arrangements. Interment
was in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall.

Anthony Joseph Jenners
Anthony Joseph [Tony] Jenners, age 48, formerly of Wall, died Dec.3, into the gentle arms of his brother, uncles, and grandmother. He died after a brief bout of cancer in Houston, Texas.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., but lived in Bayonne since he was two. He attended Horace Mann School until 1977 when he moved with his family to Wall.
His first love besides his family was the Bridgemen Marching Band of St. Andrew’s Church. He started going at age 11 and never looked back. He made a vast amount of friends throughout the marching band community. He played in the Wall High School Marching Band and graduated in 1980. He went to F.I.T in New York after graduation and went to live in Florida and became a graphic artist. But, he still followed the drum and bugle corps whenever he could going to many competitions in the surrounding states. Tony moved to Houston about two years ago, became a certified educator and proceeded to do the thing he loved. He became guard director for Klein H.S. and Cypress Creek H.S. color guards and he co-founded the Colorguards Historical and Drum Corps Historical Societies and Riflebears Designs.
He is predeceased by his brother, Charles M., his uncles, Ralph Sellaro and John Sellaro, and his grandparents, Madeline and Anthony Sellaro.
Surviving are his loving parents, Charles and Agnes Jenners, his sister, Catherine Jung, his brother, Andrew Jenners and his wife, Joy Simmerman.
He also leaves behind his loving niece Gabrielle and nephew Etienne Jung.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial
on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Catharine’s Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake, followed by burial at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt.
