Robert V. Nauss
Robert V. Nauss, 80, of Brick, with family in Point Pleasant died on Thursday, Oct. 11, at Ocean Medical Center.

Born in Orange to the late Vincent and Jessie Nauss, the family came to Point Pleasant Beach in the 1940s where he was raised and lived until moving to Brick in 2004.

He was a 1950 graduate of Point Pleasant Beach High School and a proud veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Nauss worked as a land development representative for New Jersey Natural Gas, Silverton, retiring in 1996 and was also a manager of the Arthur Murray Dance Studio, Asbury Park.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Carolyn in October of 2011 and his sister, Marilyn Hendrix.

Surviving are two sons, Jonathan of Point Pleasant Beach and Christopher and his wife Carol of Long Beach, Calif.; two daughters, Marilyn Nauss of San Francisco, Calif. and Nora Price and her husband Roger of Smithville; his brother, Richard P. Nauss and his wife Judith of Point Pleasant; and two nephews, Brian and his wife Susan and Paul and his wife Sherry.

Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant was in charge of arrangements.

George Hall
George [Buzz] Philip Hall, 87, of Bay Head, peacefully passed from this life on Wednesday, Oct. 10, surrounded by family members.

Born in Cranford he recently resided in Bay Head for the last 35 years. He was a beloved husband to “his gal Sal, ” Sarah Ann Cherry, for the last 63 years, a devoted family man to his six children, a wonderful grandfather of eight, and great-grandfather of four.

George had an easygoing manner and loved to laugh. He was such a decent human being and led by example. He was caring, honest, and gentle. He led a life of quiet dignity and good deeds. George provided his family with a lifetime of great memories.

At age 17, George enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served in World War II as a radio operator on the USS Bunch [DE-694], a destroyer escort, in the North Atlantic.

He enjoyed a long career in real estate, co-owner of Redling Hall, Point Pleasant, and an active member of the Point Pleasant Rotary Club. George had so many other talents and interests. He was extremely creative and produced many beautiful carvings and paintings throughout his life - objects treasured by those lucky enough to have been given one. He enjoyed corresponding with family and friends through endless written letters, which will be cherished by all in the years to come. He loved living on the Jersey Shore and had many fishing buddies and tennis partners. He was a devout Catholic and attended mass throughout his life. He supported many charities, and his favorite was Children’s International. George enjoyed nothing more than dancing with the ladies at family functions, always to their exhaustion

He is survived by his wife, Sarah [Sally] Hall; a daughter Cherry Topping and son-in-law Pete, of Nazareth, Pa; son George Hall Jr. and daughter-in-law Pam, of Latham, N.Y.; son Tim Hall and longtime partner Peg Davidson, of Nantucket, Mass.; son Mark Hall and longtime partner Paul Richard of Tucson, Ariz., son Chris and daughter-in-law Netta, of Brick. George was predeceased by his parents Marvin and Georgia Hall and son Tom Hall. He is survived by his brothers Hank of Delaware and Bud of Massachusetts.

Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, Brick, was in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in memory of George to: Good Will-Hinckley, P.O. Box 159, Hinckley, ME 04944, www.gwh.org. George’s great grandfather was orphaned and raised at Good Will-Hinckley School and returned to endow the school for children less fortunate, and donations made in George’s name would continue that legacy today.

Margaret Orost
Margaret Mary Albiez Orost, 75, of Brick, formerly of Point Pleasant, died on Friday, Oct. 12 at her home.

Born in Bloomfield, to the late George P. & Florence Albiez, she lived there and was also a long time Point Pleasant resident before moving to Brick eight years ago.

Mrs. Orost was a retired LP and OB nurse from Point Pleasant Hospital. She loved traveling, especially to Hawaii.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis E. Orost, Sr. and by her grandson, Brenden Lowenberg.

Surviving are her son, Louis E. Orost, Jr. of Brick; her daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Becker and her husband Freddy of South Carolina; and two grandchildren, Ashley Lowenberg and Kaitlyn Orost.

Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant was in charge of arrangements.

Interment was in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair.

The family would like to thank Meridian Hospice nurse Mary Sholl, RN for all her care and compassion.

As an expression of sympathy, donations made in her memory to Meridian Hospice Foundation, would be appreciated.

Neale F. Hooley
The Honorable Neale Francis Hooley, 81, of Lake Wylie, S.C., with family in Manasquan and Brielle, died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, S.C.

Neale Francis Hooley was born Oct. 21, 1931 in Larchmont, N.Y. to the late John W. Hooley and Agnes Burger Hooley.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Jane Nichols Hooley; his brother, Richard Hooley of Weston, CT; his children and their spouses, Meghan and Brian O’Rourke of New Fairfield, Conn., Alicia Hooley of Philadelphia, Pa., Dana and Tim Woolley of Manasquan, Janney and Joe Petrone of Brielle, and Kristen Zonnevylle of Ashville, N.C.; and 12 grandchildren.

Neale graduated from St. Francis College in Loretto, PA in 1953 and went on to become one of the first graduates of the Villanova University School of Law, in PA in 1956. He then joined the US Marine Corps and continued on to practice law at Hooley, Butler, DiFrancesco and Kelly in Westfield. Neale was later appointed a Judge of Compensation in Freehold.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at St. Catharine Church in Spring Lake, with Msgr. Thomas A. Luebking officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Neale’s honor would be greatly appreciated for the Southwest Indian Foundation, P.O. Box 86, Gallup, MA or the Franciscan Friars, T.O.R., P.O. Box 500, Loretto, PA.

Charles F. Lubeck
Charles Francis Lubeck, 80, of Manasquan and the Cayman Islands, died Monday, Oct. 22 at his home surrounded by his family after a brief illness.

Born in Plainfield, he resided in North Plainfield and Watchung before moving to Manasquan in 1990.

A graduate of North Plainfield High School he was a member of the United States Coast Guard, proudly serving aboard the USCGC Richey. Mr. Lubeck owned and operated his family business, William F. Lubeck Company, North Plainfield, for 50 years before retiring in 1994.

He has been a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 57 years.

He was a communicant of St. Denis Catholic Church, Manasquan, the Manasquan Elks Lodge 2534, the Knights of Columbus, Council 3231, Manasquan, and was a Life Member of VFW, Post 1838, Manasquan.

Mr. Lubeck was predeceased his parents, William F. and Lillian Flury Lubeck, his brother Richard Lubeck and his sister Lillian Lubeck Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol Carman Lubeck and his four children, Christopher and his wife Wendy Lubeck, Watchung, Jeffry Lubeck, North Plainfield, Lorraine and her husband Tom Cutshaw, Jutland, James and his wife Rachel Lubeck, Jackson, and a brother W. William Lubeck, Jupiter, Fla. Charles was also the loving grandfather of Drew Lubeck, Brad Lubeck, Thomas Cutshaw, Kathryn C. Patterson, Timothy Cutshaw, Lauren Lubeck and Meggan Lubeck. And, a great granddaughter, Julissa Gonzalez.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Denis Catholic Church, 90 Union Ave., Manasquan. The committal will be private. Friends are invited to call Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the O’Brien Funeral Home, Highway 35, Wall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Nancy Joan Greenhoe
Nancy Joan Greenhoe [Heyniger], 58, of Brick died on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Jersey Shore Univ. Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Fitkin Hospital, Neptune she was raised in Wall and graduated from Wall Township High School in 1972. Soon after, she moved to Brick and married James Dellecker and gave birth to Laura Joan Dellecker. Remarried Tom Greenhoe of Toms River and gave birth to her son Thomas Cortland Greenhoe. At that time, Tom and Nancy started Tom’s Drywall, a family business for 29 years. This past September was their 29th anniversary. Nancy was truly loved by everyone that knew her, she will be missed.

She was predeceased by her parents Cortland and Helen Heyniger and her beloved nephew Christopher Luker. She is survived by her husband Tom Greenhoe, son Thomas Cortland Greenhoe, daughter Laura Joan Foray [Dellecker] and son-in-law Preston Foray Jr. She is also survived by two grandchildren Drew Dellecker and Savannah Foray and her sister and brother-in-law; Sharon and Lee Luker and brother and sister in law; Cortland and Renee Heyniger and many beloved nephews and cousins.

O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall, was in charge of arrangements. Interment was held in Glendola Cemetery, Wall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251 Denville, 07834 in memory of her mother Helen Heyniger.

Frederick Menzenhauer
Frederick C. Menzenhauer, 95, a resident of Brownsville, and formerly of New Jersey, passed away at his home in Brownsville on Sunday morning, Oct. 21, surrounded by his family.

He was born Feb. 28, 1917 in Jersey City, the son of Theodore and Evangeline [Bender] Menzenhauer. He received his schooling in Rutherford, where he graduated form Rutherford High School in 1934. He graduated from Rutgers University School of Engineering in 1938. He married Marguerite Rietze in Oradell on Sept. 23, 1939. Mr. Menzenhauer was employed with the New Jersey Department of Health and was later employed with the Wallace and Tiernan Consulting Firm in Bellville. He most recently was employed with the Havens and Emerson Consulting Engineering Firm in Manhattan, NY for several years until his retirement in 1985. Mrs. Menzenhauer passed away in 1984. He moved to Vermont in 1987. Fred had many hobbies which kept him very busy including, photography, and working with a lathe making model steam engines. He was an avid ham radio operator. He enjoyed boating and being on the water. He truly enjoyed living in and enjoying the beauty of Vermont.

He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include one son, Robert Menzenhauer of Brownsville, two daughters Carol Patton of Quechee, VT and Virginia Novick of Brick, two grandchildren, Scott D. Patton and his wife, Robin of Clinton, and Dyan C. Earle and her husband, Bruce of Hartland, VT, four great grandchildren Tyler and Caitlyn Patton of Clinton and twins boys, Jameson and Gregory Earle of Hartland, VT.

He was predeceased by two son-in-laws, Jerome Novick in 1984 and David Patton in 1995.

At his request a graveside service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. in the Sheddsville cemetery in West Windsor, VT.

The Rev. Norman MacLeod, Rector of St. James Episcopal Church in Woodstock, VT will officiate.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Bayada Hospice for the wonderful care given by them to Mr. Menzenhauer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Ascutney Hospita Hospice Room Renovation Project at 289 County Road, Windsor, VT 05089.

The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, VT is entrusted with the arrangements.

Marvin Chamberlin
Marvin H. Chamberlin, 90, of Hamilton and Manasquan, died on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis in Trenton.

Born in Hightstown, Marvin was a resident of Hamilton for the past 60 years.

He was employed by McGraw Hill Book Company in Hightstown, where he retired after many years of service.

Marvin was a graduate of Hightstown High School where he played on the soccer, basketball, and baseball teams. He proudly served in the United States Navy, and was a member of the American Legion, and the Springtown Rod and Gun Club in PA.

Son of the late George Addison and Amelia Chamberlin, and father of the late Patricia and Jane Chamberlin, he is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Elizabeth [nee Fox] Chamberlin of Hamilton, and many beautiful nieces and nephews including Brian Chamberlin.

M. William Murphy Funeral Home, Hamilton, was in charge of arrangements.

Burial was private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marvin’s memory may be made to the Patricia Chamberlin Scholarship Fund at Trenton State College [The College of New Jersey], 2000 Pennington Rd., P.O. Box 7718, Ewing, 08628.
