MAE L. PETRY DeROCKER, 84, of Holmdel died July 28 at King James Nursing Home, Middletown. Born in Kearny, she resided in Hazlet and Middletown prior to moving to Holmdel. She was a sales clerk at Bradlees, Hazlet, for 18 years, retiring in 1981. She was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach, where she was a member of the Golden Age Seniors Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert J. DeRocker, in 1981; and a son, William H. DeRocker, in 1987. She is survived by her son, George A. DeRocker of Middletown; her daughter, Karen M. DeRocker of Red Bank; her sister, Edna Conn of Clearwater, Fla.; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be offered Aug. 1 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Interment

ELIJAH "SLICK" JENKINS SR., 67, of Freehold died July 20 in a fire at Walter J. Conley Elks Lodge No. 1379, Freehold. Born in Waynesboro, Ga., he was a resident of Freehold for more than 50 years. He was caretaker of the Walter J. Conley Elks Lodge, and a former employee at Silvert’s Furniture Store, Freehold. He was a life member and trustee of Walter J. Conley Elks Lodge No. 1379, and enjoyed cooking and serving meals to Lodge members. He is survived by three sons, Darryl Jenkins of Leesburg, Fla., Rodney Jenkins of Freehold, and Daniel Crudup of Lakewood; four daughters, Debbi Jenkins of Long Branch, Michelle Jenkins of Farmingdale and Sheila Crudup and Diparah Dixon-Jenkins, both of Freehold; two brothers, Elike Jenkins and Nathan Wesby, both of Freehold; six sisters, Lena Hoffman of Philadelphia, Essie Oglesby of Englishtown, Elizabeth Williams of Farmingdale, Carrie Jenkins of Lakewood, Martha Wiggins of Virginia Beach, Va., and Rose Edwards of Freehold; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements were by Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold.
HARRY H. NOWLAND, 72, of Long Branch, died July 21 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Neptune, he resided in Asbury Park prior to moving to Long Branch. He was a professional sign artist at McLain Studios Inc., Asbury Park, for 35 years, retiring in 1998. He was also a part-time handyman. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was predeceased by his brother, Clifford A. Nowland; and three sisters, Elsie Pagionia, Betty Ianniciella and Ruth Corcione. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Ruth Nowland. Burial

JENNIE DiANGELO CARUSO, 95, of Long Branch died July 22 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. Born in Maddaloni, Italy, she came to the United States in 1921, and resided in Newark prior to moving to Long Branch in 1954. She was a member of the Long Branch Seniors. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Caruso in 1984. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ramon and Anne Caruso of Long Branch, and Fred and Deborah Caruso of Santa Monica, Calif.; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. RENEÈ J. PICCHINI WALKER, 43, of Long Branch died July 22 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in South Amboy, she resided in Morgan and Matawan before moving to Long Branch seven years ago. Mrs. Walker was a senior technical staff member at AT&T, Middletown, the past 14 years. She was a teacher of religious education at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, South Amboy, an officer with the Catholic Youth Organization, and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 226, Ocean. She also volunteered at area hospitals and churches. Mrs. Walker was predeceased by her father, Primo T. Picchini, in 1995. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Mark D. Walker; her mother, Margaret Picchini of Matawan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Renny and Melissa Picchini of York, Pa., and Lt. Cmdr. Ted Picchini, U.S. Navy, and Carol Picchini of Moorpark, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial

THORKILD "TOM" OLSEN, 92, of Tinton Falls died March 26 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Kristiansand, Norway, he had resided in Tinton Falls since 1979. Mr. Olsen was a lumberjack at various logging companies in Canada and Maine from 1945-75. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He enjoyed baseball and boxing. He is survived by his grandnephew and his wife, Walter and Debra Olsen of Tinton Falls, with whom he lived; his nephew, Herbert Olsen of California; two grandnieces, Shari Williams of Jackson and Aljean Simpson of California; and several great-grandnephews and -grandnieces.
HELEN E. "BILLIE" LANGE WILLIS, 86, of Shrewsbury died March 30 at her daughter’s Red Bank home. Born in Shrewsbury, she was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Willis was a bookkeeper at Eisner’s, Red Bank, and a computer operator at SeaLand, Newark, until her retirement. She was a charter member of Shrewsbury Hose Company No. 1 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Shrewsbury Senior Homesteaders. She was predeceased by her husband, Willard Willis; her brother, George Lange; and a sister, Margaret Norris. She is survived by her son, Michael Willis of Florida; her daughter and son-in-law, Arlene and Jacob Bloom of Red Bank; three sisters, Marie Sagurton, Evelyn Tryens and Ruth Cooney; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. RICHARD E. PRYOR, 79, of the River Plaza section of Middletown, died April 4 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Bradley Beach, he had resided there and in the Lincroft section of Middletown before moving to River Plaza in 1960. Mr. Pryor served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II, and was a Rainbow Division veteran. An English major graduate of Seton Hall University, South Orange, he maintained a lifelong interest in languages. Mr. Pryor is survived by his sister, Margaret M. Pryor of River Plaza; four nieces, Margaret M. Pryor of South Salem, N.Y., Eileen Cotugno of Lincroft, Suzanne Woods of Harleysville, Pa., and Judy Calderone of Sea Bright; and several cousins. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank.
CAROLINE REAMER, 96, of Red Bank died April 18 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. She was born in New York City, N.Y., and lived in Keyport most of her life. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Reamer, in 1967. Surviving are a son, Joseph B. Reamer of Middletown; a daughter, Theresa MacIsaac of Red Bank; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth, followed by burial in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Middletown.
MARY JANE ROEMER, 90, of Red Bank died April 9 at Navesink House, Red Bank. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived there and in Middletown before moving to Red Bank seven years ago. Mrs. Roemer was a teacher at the Brooklyn Diocese for more than 20 years before her retirement. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She also was involved in the communities of her residence, Shadow Lake Village, Middletown, and Navesink House. Mrs. Roemer was predeceased by her brother, Andrew Dalton. She is survived by her son, Frederick J. Roemer of Rumson; her sister, Rose Ann Nicoletti of Lynbrook, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial
