Aaron Mazzitelle
Aaron Mazzitelle, 39, of Memphis, Tenn. passed away suddenly, and unexpectedly, on Friday, April 15.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved son Jordan Mazzitelle, and Jordan’s mother May, both of Southaven, Mississippi, his loving parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mazzitelle of Toms River, New Jersey and Dr. and Mrs. Charles Tasharski of Plainfield, Illinois. He also leaves many relatives and friends from all over the country that loved him dearly and will miss him.
Aaron was born on September 14, 1971 in Point Pleasant, and was a graduate of Toms River East, where he was voted Athlete of the Year in 1989-1990, excelling in both football and baseball. At age 14, he earned his black belt degree in Tae Kwon Do. He was best known for his unequaled sense of humor and timely wit and shall never be forgotten.
A memorial service will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 6 at the First Presbyterian Church of Manasquan, 16 Virginia Ave., Manasquan.

Audrey [Jones] Rutan
Audrey [Jones] Rutan, 79, of Toms River, died on Thursday, April 21, at Cooper Medical Center in Camden.
She was born in Atlanta, Ga., was raised in Point Pleasant Beach, and lived in Lakewood, before moving to Toms River in 1979. She was employed for over 24 years with The Level Line Company in Lakewood as an Executive Vice President / Assistant Financial Officer, retiring in 1987. She was a long-time parishioner and volunteer of The Presbyterian Church of Toms River.
She is survived by her beloved son, Robert Rutan and his wife, Elina Kazan of Douglaston, NY; her loving granddaughter, Sabrina Rutan; and a dear cousin, Jean Cronin of Medford, N.J. as well as her brother, Douglas Ludwig of Monmouth, ME.
Colonial Funeral Home, Brick, was in charge of arrangements.

Stanley P. Magnes
Stanley P. Magnes, 93, of Mantoloking Shores, died on Sunday, April 24, at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
He was born and raised in Jersey City, and moved to Mantoloking Shores in 1970. He was a veteran of World War II, proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army, in the 504th Parachute Infantry. He was the recipient of the Silver Star and the Purple Heart.
He was employed as a parole guard for many years for the State of New Jersey, in Red Bank.
He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, in Bay Head.
He was a loving son, brother and uncle. He was predeceased by his parents and four loving sisters. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Daryl L. Rothery
Daryl L. Rothery [née Thomas], 66, of Lavallette, died at her residence on Tuesday April 19.
Daryl was born in Montclair, N.J. and lived in Whippany, N.J. until moving to Lavallette 15 years ago. She was a former member and Captain of the Cedar Knolls First Aid Squad and a long time associate with Smith Barney in Morristown and Sea Girt, N.J.
Daryl is the beloved wife of 48 years of Robert P., the loving mother of Donna Iuliano and her husband Michael of Point Pleasant Beach, Robert A. of Toms River and Richard and his wife Anita of Manasquan. She is the dear sister of Donna Evertz of Toms River and a very devoted grandmother to Nicole, Michael, Robert M., Camryn and Kailie.

Theresa M. Giacco
Theresa M. Giacco, 82, of Brick, passed away on Thursday, April 21 at Fountainview Care Center, Lakewood.
Born in Detroit, Mich., she lived in Toms River, N.J. prior to moving to Brick in 1973. She worked as a dietary aide at Claremont Care Center, Point Pleasant for 10 years before retiring in 1993. She also worked as a seamstress for Air Cruisers in Wall Township.
Surviving are three sons Terry Giacco of Barnegat, Corey Giacco of Middletown, and Rick Giacco of Brick; one daughter Kelly Serafin of Gilbertsville, Pa; three brothers Theodore Wujcik and Harry Wujcik both of Florida and Richard Wujcik of Gladwin, Mich. one sister Loretta Uniewski of St. Claire Shore, Mich. and four grandchildren Chelsea, Sydney, Lauren and Ashley.
Colonial Funeral Home, Brick, was in charge of arrangements.
Florence Johnson Allsopp
Florence Johnson Allsopp, 89, of Bay Head, died on Jan. 9 at home.
Born in and a lifetime resident of Bay Head, Florence was daughter of renowned boat builder Hubert Stanley Johnson and Florence Isabelle Johnson. She enjoyed many activities in the community and at the Bay Head Yacht Club, where her husband, William, served as Commodore from 1979 to 1981. Tennis, paddle tennis, gardening, antiquing, cooking and serving as loving wife and mother filled her days. Her involvement at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church was particularly meaningful, where she and her sister Isabelle established the annual summer Antiques Show. As a major fundraiser for this church, lasting over 50 years, it also broadened the church’s outreach and fellowship in this community. Also with her sister, Flo was a founding member of the Seaweeders Garden Club of Bay Head and Mantoloking.
Florence was predeceased by her husband, William J. Allsopp, II in 2004. Surviving are her sons William [Chip] and Christopher, grandchildren Carrie and Liam, sister Isabelle Johnson Bauer, brother Hubert Stanley Johnson, Jr., nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, May 14, at 12 p.m., at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 423 West Lake Ave., Bay Head. A reception for friends and family will follow.

Eleanor Paslawsky
Eleanor “Ellie” Paslawsky, 85, of Wall Township died on Friday, Jan. 4, at Care One of Wall. She was born on Feb. 2, 1927 in Hillside, the daughter of Julius and Lydia Schneider. She graduated from Hillside High School and resided in Rahway for 58 years before moving to the shore area. She currently resided at Sunrise of Wall.
Eleanor is preceded in passing by her beloved husband of 33 years, Nicholas P. Paslawsky, her loving partner of 15 years, Henry “Hank” Cerami, and her brother Robert Schneider. She is the beloved mother of Bruce A. Preston [Judy], the late William G. Paslawsky [Carol “Tika”], and Nicholas W. Paslawsky [Cris]. Grandmother of Gregory, Katie, Lindsay, Alexander, Zachary, Meredith, Emma, Cera, and Nicholas. Great Grandmother of Sidney and Elise. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was a dedicated homemaker and mother. In later years she worked for the City of Rahway retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, Rahway.

Chester Newman, Jr.
Chester “Tom” Newman Jr., 80, of Manasquan, died Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Claremont Center in Point Pleasant. Born in Point Pleasant, he has lived in Manasquan all of his life.
Mr. Newman worked for Bennett Apple Orchard and the Borough of Manasquan for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Manasquan United Methodist Church, Manasquan Hook & Ladder #1 for over 50 years, Manasquan Hook & Ladder Fire Police and the Exempt Firemans Association.
Mr. Newman is survived by his brother, Avery A. of Manasquan. Three cousins, Ella Migash of Red Lion, Pa., Melanie Coder of Manasquan, Larry Newman of Florida and his aunt, Evelyn Geller of Red Lion, Pa.
Visitation was under the direction of the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street, Manasquan. Services followed at the funeral home. Interment
was in Atlantic View cemetery in Manasquan.

John Henry Vignec
John “Gene” Henry Vignec, 82, of Sea Girt, died on Wednesday, Jan. 2, at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Gene and his wife Mary owned and operated Gene’s Liquors in Staten Island for many years. He also was an acclaimed Golden Gloves Boxing Coach for the City of New York at Cromwell Center.
Mr. Vignec was a US Army Veteran from 1955-1959. He attended NYU in New York City, N.Y., and took classes at Northern Michigan University where he became an Olympic Boxing Coach in the 80s.
Born in the West Brighton section of Staten Island, he and his wife lived in Staten Island while summering in Lavallette before moving to Sea Girt 10 years ago.
Mr. Vignec was predeceased by his parents John and Marie Vignec and by his brother Robert Vignec. Surviving is his loving wife Mary C. Forsyth Vignec of 56 years as well as many dear friends who were considered family.
Visitation was under the direction of the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35, Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial
was celebrated at St. Mark’s RC Church in Sea Girt. Burial
followed at St. Peter’s cemetery in Staten Island.
Dorothy Clark Haver
Dorothy Clark Haver, 88, of Brick, formerly of Manasquan, died peacefully Monday, Jan. 1. Born and raised in Watertown, N.Y., Dorothy moved to Manasquan, in 1964 and in her later years resided at Brandywine Assisted Living in Brick.
Dorothy was predeceased by her mother Clara Stokes, husband Ellsworth “Bud” Haver and one brother Edward Clark. She is survived by her four children William E. Haver of Newton, Bruce E. Haver of Stuart, Fla., Susan L. Pharo of Stuart, Fla., and Sally I. Bates of Point Pleasant, as well as five grandchildren: Jennifer Docherty, Lafayette; Lauren Scott, Stuart, Fla.; Sean Bates, Point Pleasant; Katie Cascio, Baltimore, Md.; and Ryan Pharo, Stuart, Fla.; and three great-grandchildren, Clara and Lillian Docherty and Nathaniel Scott.
Dorothy was employed as a telephone operator in Watertown prior to marriage. She was a devoted mother to her family and was a friend to everyone she met.
In later years Dorothy was involved in P.T.A., Manasquan Ladies Auxiliary, and worked various retail positions.
Services will be conducted privately under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home, Brick. In lieu of flowers, donations to Grace Hospice, 105 Fieldcrest Avenue, No. 402, Edison, 08837 or Brandywine Assisted Living Activities Department, 515 Jack Martin Blvd., Brick, 08724 would be appreciated.
Dorothy E. Hand
Dorothy E. Hand 88, of Wall Township, died on Jan. 7 at The Pines in Whiting.
She was born in Riverside in 1924 to the late Reverend William A. and Florence Robbins. Dorothy was married
to her late husband Kenneth S. Hand for 65 years. She and Ken were residents of Wall Township for 50 years. She spent her working years as a secretary for Day Associates and the County Of Monmouth, from which she retired. Dorothy was a longtime member of the Manasquan United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being a homemaker for her beloved husband Ken, playing her favorite hymns on the piano and entertaining family and friends at her home.
Surviving are her niece and nephew Shirley and Don Gorecki of Hadden Heights, grand-nieces Amy Peterson of Havertown, Pa., and Jill Gorecki of New York, niece and nephew Roxanne and Bill Robbins of Baltimore, Md., grandnephew David Robbins of Eldersburg, Md., and grandniece Laura Detzel of Hampstead, Md., and special friend and neighbor Kelly Zukswert of Lafayette.

William Osbahr
William “Booman” Osbahr, of Avon-by-the-Sea, died peacefully on Jan. 2. Born Sept. 14, 1936, he was the beloved son of the late Lydia and William Osbahr, Sr., and loving brother to the late Joanie Nasta; dear uncle to Janice Styblewski and her husband Richard of Holiday, Fla., Jenny Nasta and her husband Steve Myers of Palm Harbor, Fla., Jerry John Nasta, his wife Carol and their two children, Rianna and John Nasta, of Middletown, and Nancy Nasta of Palm Harbor, Fla.
“Booman” was also the beloved companion and friend to Maureen Klein Gibson, mother of his step-sons, Jerome Vinc and his wife Kristine and George Vinc and his wife Letizi-a.
“Boo” was a Bayonne native all his life. He worked for Associated Aviation Under Writers, retiring at the age of 62 in September 1998. He then moved to Avon-by-the-Sea, and made footprints on his path to his favorite spots, “You know who you are!” You would also see him walking around Bayonne and hanging out with “The Gang” at Jooch’s, owned by his eternal friend, Mikey Jooch. He made several appearances at Beckman’s and on the boardwalk in Belmar. He was also a favorite on the North Jersey Coast Line talking to everyone promoting Belmar & Bayonne. He was a legend in both communities. Visitation was under the direction of the Sweeney Funeral Home, 857 Kennedy Boulevard, Bayonne. Cremation is private.
