Frederick E. Schlosser
Frederick E. Schlosser, 91, of Manasquan, died on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
He was born in New York City and has lived most of his life in New Jersey. He was employed by Steinbach Company for 30 years, retiring as vice president of store development; he was president of the Red Bank Chamber of Commerce, the president of the Board of Trustees of the Red Bank Community Appeal, vice president and director of the Red Bank Rotary Club; vice president and director of the Red Bank Community YMCA and the chairman of the Monmouth County Red Cross Annual Fund Drive for two years.
Frederick was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Asbury Park, president of the Brick Rotary Club where he received the club’s first Paul Harris Fellowship Award; president of the Brick Chamber of Commerce and was honored “Man of the Year, ” director of the Ocean County YMCA; director of Ocean First Bank for 37 years - the only remaining Community Bank of Ocean County; past master of the Free & Accepted Masons of Ocean Lodge #89.
He served on the Grand Staff of the F&AM;, State of New Jersey as chaplain and was a member of many appendent bodies i.e. Scottish Rite, York Rite and Shrine, serving in administrative capacities.
He was an honorary member for life of the DeMolay Legion of Honor by the International Supreme Council, Order of DeMolay. He was also a past commander of the Carson Commandery No. 15, Knights Templar in Red Bank.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of more than 60 years, June A. Schlosser, his parents August J. Schlosser and Louise B. Schlosser and a sister Abbertine L. Brown.
He is survived by his sisters Mrs. Floyd R. Smith of Toms River and Mrs. John H. Newton of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with future notification. The cremation has been entrusted to the Ely Funeral Home, Neptune.

Eleanor M. Kuta
Eleanor M. Kuta [nee Berry], 90, of Brick, passed away Friday, Oct. 4, at her home with her devoted daughter Suzanne at her bedside.
Eleanor was a very popular figure along the Jersey shore from her long career as a buyer and director at the Brielle Galleries.
She was a lifelong N.J. resident, living in the Great Notch section of Little Falls before moving to the Shore area, primarily in Manasquan since 1963.
She was predeceased by her dear husband Chester Kuta D.D.S. in 1998 and her beloved son Thomas M. Kuta in 1969.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter Suzanne J. Lahey of Lake Barington, Ill. and many close personal friends who have assisted her during her illness over the past 10 years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In keeping with Eleanor’s wishes, a private burial was conducted in the Kuta Family plot in Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.

Catherine P. O’Brien
Catherine P. O’Brien, 50, entered into eternal life on Sunday, Oct. 6. She was a former resident of Ridgefield, Weehawken, and most recently Wall.
She is survived by her sister Kelly O’Brien, brother Matthew and sister-in-law Theresa [Tracey] O’Brien, her nephew Matthew Thomas O’Brien and her beloved pet cats. She is predeceased by her parents, Janice and Norman [Butch] O’Brien.
Catherine attended Ridgefield’s St. Matthew’s elementary school and graduated from Ridgefield, Memorial High School in 1980. She attended Rutgers University studying theater communications.
For over 25 years, Catherine worked in creative administration roles for various Madison Avenue advertising agencies including Wells, Rich, Greene, Bozell Worldwide, and Bouchez Kent+Company.
Since 2005, Catherine has been an award-winning realtor in Hudson County, serving as team member for Weichert Realtors and Empire Realty. She was a multiple year winner for N.J. Circle of Excellence among many other achievements in that industry.
In October of 2012, Catherine, helped launch Linger, an up-scale lingerie boutique, in Spring Lake.
Catherine was involved in many civic activities in her hometown of Ridgefield including its centennial commission. She was performed in local theatre groups including “The $.99 Special” in Hoboken and was a production assistant for Search’s traveling religious musical Pentejoy. Catherine was also the production coordinator for the acclaimed 1995 indie film “Clean, Shaven. She also appeared in promotional spots for HBO.
Catherine loved her parish, St. Francis in Hoboken, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and briefly served as its president.
Catherine is remembered for her kindness, humor, and loyalty - and her ability to break out into song. Funeral from the A.K. Macagna Funeral Home 495 Anderson Ave., Cliffside Park on Friday, Oct. 11, at 9 a.m. to St. Francis RC Church, Hoboken where a Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m.
Entombment to follow at Madonna Mausoleum, Fort Lee. The family will receive their friends for the second day on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 4-8 p.m.

James Linford Eirich
James “Jimmy” Eirich, 78, of Manasquan, passed away at his home on Oct. 2. Born and raised in Sea Girt to the late Laura and W. Franklin “Hap” Eirich, he was a lifelong Sea Girt resident, before moving to Four Seasons at Wall.
Jimmy attended Manasquan High School and was a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy of Wayne, Pa. He then went on to graduate the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Eirich served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He then became the president of the Sea Coast Oil Company in Point Pleasant Beach. Jimmy was an avid sports fan who enjoyed all national, college, and local sports, especially Manasquan Football and spending quality time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Eirich Jr.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 48 years, Terry Gardiner Eirich, his loving daughters, Tracy Pence and husband Mark of Troutman, North Carolina and Tara McCarten and husband Bill of Spring Lake, his dear sister Jean Mills of Hackettstown, and his three cherished grandchildren, Jessica Cox, Mark Pence Jr.; and Lucas Pence.

Rosalie Lorello
Rosalie Lorello, 75, of Brick with family in Manasquan, entered eternal life on Oct. 7. She grew up in Jersey City, and after graduating from Snyder High School, Rosalie worked for many years at the American Can Company in Jersey City, Hillside, and Fairlawn, in accounting and then for Dixie and James River Corporation, in Human Resources, where she retired after 43 years. During her time at the American Can Company, she made lifetime friends, and shared those memories for years.
Rosalie will be remembered for her beautiful, loving, and generous spirit, and her infectious sense of humor was unparalleled! Nothing mattered more to Rosalie than her family. She also loved music, traveling, and cherished her time spent each summer in Manasquan Beach. She leaves a legacy of boundless, unconditional love and compassion that will endure in the hearts of the family and friends she leaves behind.
Her parents, Joseph and Evelyn, who she lovingly cared for until their passing, precede her in death.
She is survived by her beloved brother Frank [Lorraine] Lorello, and her loving nieces and nephews: Jean Lorello, Barbara Lorello [Susan Stewart], Joseph Lorello [Stephanie Landry-Woolwine], Thomas Lorello [Daniela], her grand-nieces and nephews: Rose Richardson, Tara Lorello, Robert Richardson, and Vincent Lorello, and many cousins and special friends whose hearts were touched by her.
Rosalie’s family would like to thank her caretakers Jennifer Lowe, Eileen O’Brien, and Gloria Jackson for their wonderful care and compassion. Rosalie is also survived by her adored and devoted poodle, Bruno.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Meridian at Home Hospice, Ocean Medical Center, Brick. A memorial Celebration of Life will be held in Manasquan in July 2014.

Linda C. DeLaura
Linda C. DeLaura, 70, of Wall Township died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Oct. 3.
Linda is pre-deceased by her late husband Michael who passed away in 2009. In her spare time Linda enjoyed her sewing and crafts and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whom her world revolved around.
Linda is survived by three sons, Michael and Karen DeLaura of Wall, Keith and Lisa DeLaura of Wall and Christopher and Sharity DeLaura of Neptune as well as her five grandchildren: Michael, Bryan, Christopher, Allie and Anthony.
The family will be holding a private memorial. In honor of Linda, donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital would be greatly appreciated.

Henry H. Dobrzynski
Henry H. Dobrzynski, 90, of Manasquan, passed away on Oct. 4 at CareOne at Wall.
Born in Newark, Henry was raised with his five siblings before serving his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Upon his return, Henry married
his beloved Doris Schaefer, with whom he lived in Parsippany before moving to Wall in 1969.
Henry was the owner/operator of Henry D. Painting. He loved playing cards, most especially Blackjack, and had many great times in Atlantic City and Las Vegas. He will be missed.
Henry was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Frances, as well as his five siblings Felix, John, Jeanne, Loretta, and May.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris; sons Rodney, Allan, Jeffrey and wife Marcy, and Gregg and wife Michele; and his grandchildren Brian, Ian, Austin, Emma, Vanessa, and Tyler.
Visitation was held at O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be offered at St. Rose Church, 603 7th Ave., Belmar, on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 10 a.m., with committal to follow at Holmdel Cemetery.
Joanne Quakenbush Steele
Joanne Quakenbush Steele, 77, of Brick with family in Manasquan, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 16, at the National Lutheran Home in Rockville, Md.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Oct. 26 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Manasquan at 1 p.m.
Born in Trenton and raised in Chatham, Joanne was the loving daughter of the late Joel E. Quakenbush and Anne Quakenbush [nee Andersen].
She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, John S. Steele Jr. in 2008. They resided in Brick.
Joanne was a graduate of Chatham High School and Centenary College, Hackettstown.
She had worked as an elementary school teacher. In her later years she was employed by Ocean Federal Savings and Loan Bank in Point Pleasant, Brick and Toms River.
As an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, she served as a greeter and as a member of the Social Ministry Committee.
Joanne is survived by her devoted children: Sandra Spiek and her husband Dan, Cinda Steele and her fiancé William Rimm, John Steele, III, Scott Steele and his wife Darlene and her sister Noelle Joralemon, her husband Alan. She was the cherished grandmother of six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Joanne's family is grateful for her legacy of gentle love, acceptance, forgiveness and supportive spirit.
