Ann Marie Allen
Ann Marie Allen, 60, of Wall Township, died Saturday, Oct. 5, at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Orange, she lived in East Orange, before moving to the Jersey Shore 32 years ago.
Ann Marie was a vocalist for St. Catharine Roman Catholic Church in Spring Lake. She was a member of the choir for over 25 years.
Ann Marie is survived by her husband of 37 years, Brian, her son, Eric of Philadelphia, Pa., her two daughters, Bridget Mabey of Highland Lakes, and Eimile at home in Wall, two brothers, Thomas Curtin of Norway and Daniel Curtin of Miami, Fla. and four sisters, Mary Ann Thompson of Flemington, Patricia Mako of Louisiana, Eileen Boonen of New York and Carolyn Curtin of Asbury Park. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were under the direction of Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South St., Manasquan.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catharine RC Church in Spring Lake.
Louis J. Murchio
Louis J. Murchio, 95, of Spring Lake Heights, passed away peacefully in Pt. Pleasant, on Sept. 30. Louis was born on March 27, 1918 in Midvale and grew up in Pompton Lakes.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Norma [Molloy], their elder son, Charles Ward Murchio, and his five children as well as his devoted sister, Alice Rusbar and her family.
Louis was predeceased by his younger son, Marc [d. 2009], as well as his brother, George, late of Pompton Lakes.
He was a proud grandfather to Maggie, Matthew, Melissa, David, Michael, Stephanie, and Joe, and a caring uncle to many. In recent years, Lou and Norma moved to Spring Lake Heights in order to be near their loving nieces Pamela Black and Cindy McCann.
In WWII, Lou served in the Army Signal Corps with the 196th Signal Photographic Company from 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1945. He both filmed and photographed military engagements in Sicily, Arno, Elba, and Anzio, Italy. During his service, Lou was promoted to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and received the bronze star and four battle stars.
After his military service, Lou began his career at IBM before joining Kelly Services, Inc., where he worked as district manager in four of their business regions before retiring in 1978.
In his youth, Lou learned to fly small planes and remained fascinated by aircraft throughout his life. His other passionate interests were cooking, cars, and playing golf, which he did until his 93rd year. Both Lou and Norma had a great spirit of adventure, and they sailed extensively on their Kaiser Gale Force Cutters the “Omega” and the “Second Wind” from 1978-1981; surviving a rescue at sea by a Norwegian tanker during hurricane conditions in November 1978.
Lou will be remembered for his good-natured disposition, his optimism, and his pleasure in living every day.
Funeral arrangements are through the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan.
William F. Johnson Jr.
William F. Johnson Jr., 84, of Wall, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a decorated Korean War veteran, with two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star.
Bill was a Foreman for 47 years for George Mueller Construction Co. on Atlantic Avenue in Wall and eventually became a partner in Mueller & Johnson, Inc. Residing in Wall for the past 58 years, he raised six children with his wife of 54 years, Jean.
He was predeceased by his wife Jean Carlin Johnson, who died in 2006 and his daughter Kathleen [Micky] Green, who died in 2004.
Bill is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Jackie and Mike Carpenter and Pat and Steve Ballard of Brick; and his sons, Bill Johnson, Wall, Bob Johnson, South Carolina, and Tom Johnson, Howell.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Jessica Kaldon, South Carolina, Pam Mims, Georgia, Stephen Moran, New Jersey, Chris Green, Georgia, Jennifer and Alyson Ballard, New Jersey, Jason Ballard, Maryland, Amber Johnson, New Jersey.
Also by four great-grandchildren Alex Mims, Georgia and Sebatian, Nicholas, and Robyn Ballard, Maryland, and by his current wife Evelyn Granit Johnson.
Visiting took place at the O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall. A funeral service was held at the Assembly of God Church, Toms River. Interment
with Military Honors followed at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.

Kevin P. Cox
Kevin P. Cox, 59, of Naples Fla., with family in Spring Lake, Bradley Beach and Sea Girt, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Sept. 28, while vacationing in Paris, France.
We take comfort knowing he was with his loving, supportive companion Jane Kelly. Kevin was born on March 18, 1954 in Manhattan, N.Y. and raised in Meier’s Corners, Staten Island, N.Y. He later moved to the Jersey Shore residing in Bradley Beach, Belmar and Sea Girt. Kevin frequently returned to the Jersey Shore to be with family and friends.
Kevin was a graduate of Monsignor Farrell High School, Staten Island, N.Y. Kevin attended Manhattan College and LIU College of Brooklyn while he pursued his nursing degree at St Vincents Nursing School in N.Y. Kevin’s nursing career included Staten Island Hospital, Bayley Seton Hospital and St.. Vincents Hospital where he eventually became an instructor at the “St. Vinny’s” Nursing School. Kevin also followed in his father PJ’s footsteps and joined the NYPD, assigned to the 68 pct. He later proudly retired at the rank of Sergeant.
Kevin was predeceased by his father, Patrick J. Cox and his mother, Marcella [nee Kitson]. The oldest of nine children, Kevin is survived by his eight brothers and sisters; brothers Patrick Cox of El Segundo, Calif., Timothy & Lorraine Cox of Freehold, Richard Cox of New York City, James and Jill Cox of Neptune. Sisters Marcella and Jack Icovino of Brick, Therese and Lou Errichiello of Howell, Elizabeth Cox of Old Bridge and Annemarie and Joseph Gulino of Middletown.
He is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews, his companion Jane Kelly and her son Jack Kelly of Fort Meyers, Fla.
“KC” loved the Jersey Shore. He could always be spotted riding his bike along the beach and stopping at his favorite hangouts. Kevin loved to travel and as a long time member of the Staten Island Ski Club, Kevin organized many memorable ski trips around the world. Kevin was a huge NY Yankee fan, traveling to spring training and many ballparks around the country. Kevin was loved by many and he will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, Oct. 11 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Ely Funeral Home in Neptune. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m., at Holy Innocents Church, Neptune.
Donations to The Wounded Warrior Foundation in Kevin’s memory would be greatly appreciated.

Michael Boyd Miller
Michael Boyd Miller, 81, of Wilmington, N.C. with family in Spring Lake Heights, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, Oct. 1, with his family at his side.
Born Sept. 4, 1932, in Richmond, Va. He was the son of the late Edward J. Miller Jr., and Virginia Kreis Miller.
Boyd graduated from Duke University in 1955 with a degree in mechanical engineering and collected many happy memories being a midfielder on the Duke Lacrosse team and a member of the SAE fraternity.
After college, he proudly served his country as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1957. He served in the amphibious division in San Diego and then at sea on the USS Magoffin in the western Pacific area.
He earned his Professional Engineering license in 1971, his Professional Planning license in 1979, and worked for several major engineering consulting firms in N.J. and N.Y.
As executive director of South Monmouth Regional Sewer Authority in Belmar for 12 years, he devised several innovative and unique improvements to its operating system which were later written up in national environmental publications. His plant won an EPA Excellence Award for these highly successful processes. Boyd was honored further by being appointed in 1995 by Gov. Christie Whitman to the NJ Environmental Advisory Board.
Boyd was one of the six founding members of the Association of Environmental Authorities which now has over 275 members and served on its Board of Directors for many years. He was also an active member of the N.J. and National Water Environment Federation.
Being active in his community was a priority for Boyd. He was a councilman in Brielle for 21 years and served as president protem of council several times. He served on the town’s planning board 10 years and was Brielle’s commissioner to the regional wastewater treatment board. All of Brielle’s flags as well as the flag at South Monmouth Regional Sewer Authority are being flown at half staff as a tribute to his contributions to the community.
While living on the Jersey shore, Boyd spent many happy hours with family and friends at the Manasquan River Yacht Club. Refereeing high school lacrosse in the area gave him special pleasure as well.
After moving to Wilmington, Boyd completed the Adult Scholars Leadership Program sponsored by UNCW and later became a member of its board and served as its treasurer for many years. He also served several years in the Wilmington area Guardian Ad Litem program.
Boyd enjoyed his seven years as a volunteer at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
In addition, he was a member of the Military Officer’s Association of America, Cape Fear Men’s Club, Senior Men’s Club, and the United States Sail and Power Squadron where he was Assistant Treasurer for six years years. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Wrightsville Beach.
Boyd is predeceased by his parents, his brother, Edward J. Miller, III, and several cousins.
Surviving are his devoted wife, Susan, his daughter, Jennifer L. Freeborg of Temecula, Calif., and two sons, Michael B. Miller Jr. of Spring Lake Heights, and Benjamin G. Miller, of Kill Devil Hills, N.C. His spirit also lives through his grandchildren Connor, Ashley, Matty, Mason, Reese, Jake and Evie.
A funeral Mass will take place on Monday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m., followed by a reception at the Parish Hall in Wrightsville Beach, N.C.

Aileen J. Molkenthin Scott
Aileen J. Molkenthin Scott, 85, of Sea Girt, formerly of Ft. Myers, Fla., and a long-time resident of Spring Lake, died peacefully at home Sept. 30.
She was remarkable in her devotion to her husband, children, and their families. Her warm spirit and feisty sense of humor helped make friends of the family feel genuinely welcome in her Passaic Avenue home.
Her beloved husband of 54 years, Dr. Robert G. Scott, died in 2004.
She is survived by nine children and their spouses: Kathleen and Martin Gilderman of Ft. Myers, Fla.; Barbara and Terry Havens of Woodbridge, Va.: Judith Duncan and Dale Jesswein of Ft. Myers, Fla.; Carole and Fred Darche of Sea Girt; Mary and Brian Chesebro of Cape Coral, Fla.; Robert and Beth Scott of Washington, D.C.; David Scott and Jennifer Keach of Timberville, Va.; Jim Scott and Becky Sasser of Linville, Va.; and Dr. Thomas and Kristine Scott of Bedford, N.H.; her very dear niece Gail and Hal Dennen and their children; a brother, Richard Molkenthin and Nancy Rees of Manasquan; 17 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; three nieces, Gail Scott, Nancy Scott and Lynn Hayn and a nephew Terry and Maryanne Scott and their children. Her brother, Kenneth R. Molkenthin, died in 1988.

Michael Lemmerman
Point Pleasant resident Michael Lemmerman died Saturday, Dec. 20 in his home.
He was 81 years old.
Always cheerful and never complaining, he fought a courageous battle against cancer.
Michael was a former executive of Pathmark Stores, Inc. retiring in 1987.
He was a longtime resident of Point Pleasant and Jensen Beach, Fla.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth, in 1988; his daughter, Gail Noonan; and his granddaughter Melanie, in 2001; and his brother Isadore in 2003.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Rita; son Scott and his wife, Karen; son-in-law Glen Noonan; stepson David Link and his wife, Karla; stepson Mark Link and his wife, Jude; stepson Joel Link; and nine grandchildren, Melissa, Beth, Doug, Lauren, Kerri, Meredith, Michael, Kelsey and Benjamin.
The Belkoff-Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Lakewood, was in charge of arrangements. Interment
took place at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge.
