William T. Moran
Wall Township resident William T. Moran, formerly of Point. Pleasant Beach and Brick, passed away Sunday, June 17, at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 80 years old.
He was an elementary school teacher in Maplewood and 13 years in Point. Pleasant Borough Schools. In July of 1970, he was appointed principal of the former Ocean Road School and served until July 1984, when he was assigned to assist the superintendent of schools.
During his early years in Point. Pleasant, he became director of the Point Pleasant Beach Adult School Program, until the board of education eliminated the program, in March of 1974.
He was a graduate of Demarest High School in Hoboken. He served two years in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post, Point. Pleasant Beach.
He then attended New Jersey State Teachers College, in Jersey City, where he received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education, in 1951. In 1969, he received his master’s from Newark College specializing in administration and supervision of education.
He was predeceased by his Irish immigrant parents, John and Mary Ann Farrell Moran, and two sons, William and Brian Moran; his two brothers, John and Peter Moran, and his sister Evelyn Powers.
Surviving are his wife, Gerry Gifford Moran; a daughter, Kathleen Von Suskil and her husband Gary, of Normandy Beach, and four grandchildren Mary kate and John Gary Von Suskil, and Jedidiah and Julia Moran.
A funeral service will be held today at 8:45 a.m., from the O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial
at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church, Spring Lake.

Michael D. Regan
Brielle and Boca Raton, Fla. resident Michael Daniel “Danny” Regan, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Wednesday, June 20, at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 65 years old.
Mr. Regan served as vice principal of Brick Township High School from 1971-1987. In 1987, he was appointed principal of Brick Memorial High School and retired from that job in 1998. During his retirement, he was affiliated with Ocean Pointe Realtors of Sea Girt.
Prior to his administrative, Mr. Regan taught English in the Plainfield School system from 1964-1969 and at Brick High School from 1969-1971.
In addition to his administrative duties, Mr. Regan served as president of the Brick Township Association of School Administrators and president of the Monmouth/Ocean County Principal’s Association. He was also the Ocean County Principals’ advisor to the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association. Mr. Regan served on 10 Middle States Association evaluation committees and as chairman of four of these.
Mr. Regan was a lifetime and Hall of Fame member of the Shore Umpires Association. He enjoyed playing the piano and singing his songs for friends at parties. He entertained at many local restaurants including 22 years at the Family Tree Tavern, in Wall Township.
Born and raised in Plainfield, he moved to Brielle 39 years ago. He was a graduate of Mt. St. Mary’s College, Emmitsburg, Md. in 1964, and received his masters degree from Montclair State College.
Mr. Regan and his wife, Marie, were happily married
for 36 years. They loved being with their family and traveling throughout the USA and abroad. Mr. Regan’s passion for sports included a strong allegiance to the NY Yankees, his football Giants and Notre Dame football.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie [nee Lynch] Regan. He was a devoted father to Michael Regan and his fiancee’ Anna Solosky, of Arlington, Va., and Mary Beth and her husband, Christopher McCarthy, of Manasquan; dear brother to his siblings, Mark Regan and his wife Lynn, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Maureen and Terry Reilly, of South Plainfield; loving “Grampy” to Brigid, Marin, and Molly McCarthy; and uncle of 18 nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 8:45 a.m. from the O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial
at 9:30 a.m., at St. Denis Church, Manasquan.
Visiting is today and tomorrow from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be held at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt.

Grace Green Bedell
Spring Lake Heights resident Grace Green Bedell passed away Thursday, June 14, at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
She was 92 years old.
Born in Belmar in 1915, she moved to Spring Lake Heights in 1945. She worked for many years as head floor lady in garment manufacturing at Little Craft, in Bradley Beach. She was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church in Belmar and had a special affection for Pastor Grace Scarle.
She was a devoted wife and was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, John Russell Bedell, in October of 2001. She was also predeceased by her two brothers, Peter Smith in 1949 and her brother George C. Smith Sr., for whom she had a special affection.
Surviving is her loving sister, Viola Warwick, of Manasquan; her loving nephew, Jeffrey G. Smith, of Manasquan; her dear sister-in-law, Mary Fletcher, of Spring Lake Heights; and many other loving relatives, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
She was laid to rest at Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan.

Patricia E. Johnson
Spring Lake Heights resident Patricia Ellen Fitzmaurice Johnson passed away Saturday, June 16, at Laurelton Village Care Center, Brick, after a lengthy illness.
She was 49 years old.
She was born in Newark and had lived in the Shore area for the past 30 years, most recently in Spring Lake Heights. She was a homemaker prior to her illness.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Marjorie Knox Fitzmaurice.
Surviving is her husband, George D. Johnson; her two sons, Thomas J. Fitzmaurice, of Belmar, and Michael A. Fitzmaurice, of Spring Lake; her two brothers, Jack Fitzmaurice, of Allenhurst, and James Fitzmaurice, of Belmar; and a sister, Kathleen Brennan, of South Dakota; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Committal will be private at the convenience of the family.
O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall, is in charge of the arrangements.
Donald J. Keenan
Manasquan resident Donald J. Keenan “Pop” died Friday, June 15, in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 78 years old.
Donald was an advertising director with Beecham, now known as Glaxo Smith Kline, for 35 years in their Clifton facility. His extensive marketing and advertising career earned him several industry awards. Donald was most proud of and known for his Brylcreem marketing campaign work with the famous “A Little Dab ‘ll Do Ya!” slogan.
Born in Weehawken, he was formerly of North Caldwell and Totowa, Paterson City. He was a graduate of Weehawken High School and Pace University.
Playing basketball in both high school and college, he was an original “Pacesetter” on the University team, and went on to play semi-professional basketball.
A proud veteran, he enlisted in the United States Army at 17, and earned the rank of sergeant and the distinguished status of Sharpshooter. He received two medals of honor while serving two years in Japan.
Donald was a friend to all, a true gentleman, a great Jeopardy player, an eloquent speaker, a prolific writer, and a brilliant, witty but humble man. He will be dearly missed by all, especially his best friends, Tracie, Sweet Pea, and Rudy. We love you, Pop!
Donald was predeceased by his parents, Russell and Mary; and his siblings Margaret, James, Russell and Herbie.
Surviving are his adoring family, including his wife of 53 years, Rosemary; his children, Linda of Manasquan, Marilyn and her husband Gil of California, Donald S. and his wife Jeanmarie of Scotch Plains, Richard and his wife Jennifer of Mt. Laurel, and Sherri and her husband Carl of Manasquan; and his grandchildren, Tracie, Ryan, Sean, Donnie, Maggie, Kyle, Patrick, and Dillon. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Lou and Ruth.
Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan handled the arrangements. Interment

Michael D. Farren
Judge Michael D. Farren, 69, of Spring Lake, entered into eternal rest on May 13, 2009.
Born to Gertrude & G. Arthur Farren, Michael spent his entire life as a resident of the Jersey Shore growing up with his siblings, G. Arthur, Jr., Clifford, Patricia Heine and Mary McGreevey. He attended St. Catharine’s Elementary School (Spring Lake) and St. Rose High School (Belmar) before leaving for St. Bonaventure University (Olean, NY) where he earned his BBA in Business Administration in 1961.
Michael then honorably served his country as a First Lieutenant in the US Army from 1961-1963. Upon his discharge, he attended Seton Hall University Law School, earning his Juris Doctor degree in 1967.
He then joined a law firm before becoming an assistant Monmouth County Prosecutor. He was in private practice from 1973 until 1984, when he was appointed to the bench as a Judge of the Superior Court of the State of New Jersey until his retirement in 2004. Judge Farren was a member of New Jersey Bar Association, Monmouth County Bar Association, Affiliated Republican Club of Monmouth County, and the Spring Lake-Brielle Rotary Club. Michael enjoyed walking the Spring Lake boardwalk with friends, playing golf, reading many newspapers, traveling, especially to Florida, cheering for the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and being surrounded by his family.
Michael was predeceased by his parents Gertrude and G. Arthur, and his brothers G. Arthur, Jr. and Clifford. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Elizabeth (Dwyer); and daughters Mary and husband Shawn Boehmcke (Spring Lake Heights), Catherine and husband John Gambino (Duxbury, MA), Margaret and husband Scott Cockerell (Newhall, CA), and Patricia and husband Thomas Roach (Needham, MA). He also leaves seven wonderful grandchildren; Samantha, Nolan, Kristen, Aidan, Siobhan, Bridget, and Michael.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 17 from 3-7 pm at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35, Wall. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, May 18 at 11 am, St. Catharine’s Church, Spring Lake, with a burial to follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall.

Stanley Lewis Wilson
Wall Township resident Stanley Lewis Wilson died Saturday, May 9 at Imperial Care Center, Neptune.
He was 87 years old.
Mr. Wilson had been employed as a driver for the New Jersey Commission for the Blind, Metuchen for many years. He was a member of the Ocean Lodge No. 89, F. & A.M., Wall Township and was a proud veteran of World War II, serving our country in the United States Army Air Corps. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had lived in Belmar before moving to Wall Township 44 years ago.
He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Elizabeth Wilson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Edna May Heller Wilson; his son, Dennis E. Wilson of Toms River; his three grandchildren, Aaron, Dennis, and Tina; and a great-grandson, Seth.
All services will be held privately by the Wilson family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall.
