MARGARET EGAN McCUE, 89, of Hazlet died May 24 at Regency Park Nursing Home, Hazlet. Born in Rumson, she was a lifelong resident prior to moving to Hazlet eight years ago. Mrs. McCue was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred McCue, in 1982. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Nora and Artie Connaughton of Matawan, and Mary McCue of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Richard McCue of Atlantic Highlands and Thomas McCue of West Long Branch; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
CLARINA ‘SHERRY’ PETRAGLIA WEBBER, 89, of Red Bank died April 26 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Atlantic Highlands, she resided in Shrewsbury and the Leonardo section of Middletown before moving to Red Bank in 1961. Mrs. Webber was a manager at Hahne’s Department Store, Eatontown, for several years. Prior to that, she managed her family’s farm and gas station in Leonardo. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, and an active member of Court of St. James Catholic Daughters of America, where she served as president during the ‘60s and ‘70s. Mrs. Webber was active in and served as president of the Republican Women of Red Bank as well as the Monmouth County Federation of Republican Women, where she was a past president and trustee. She was the state representative from Monmouth County for the New Jersey Federation of Republican Women, and was a county Republican Committeewoman for several years. She was active in the PTA at St. James Grammar School, Red Bank, and Red Bank Catholic High School, and was instrumental in developing activities for the Catholic Youth Organization. She and her husband were square dance callers for 30 years, and she was one of the first female callers in the country. The couple also entertained at area senior citizen centers. Mrs. Webber was predeceased by a brother, Angelo "Skip" Petraglia. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Hartwell K. Webber of Red Bank; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Claire W. and Ed Heil of Ridge, N.Y., Jane M. Webber of Bernardsville, and Carol and Frank Williams of Warren, Ohio; her sister, Rose Petraglia of Atlantic Highlands; her sister-in-law, Theresa Petraglia of Atlantic Highlands; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. IRENE OLSEN GOFF, 98, of Red Bank died May 2 at Navesink House, Red Bank. Born in New York City, she resided in Little Silver prior to moving to Red Bank 13 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, W. Edwin Goff in 1973. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara G. Hofford of North Palm Beach, Fla., and Patricia G. DENISE SHARROCK DeVITO, 38, of Rumson died May 4 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York City. Born in Bayonne, she lived in Hoboken and Belmar before moving to Rumson 11 years ago. Mrs. DeVito was a homemaker. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. Her memberships included CPC Behavioral Foundation, Middletown, where she was also past president and a current board member of Campership; a board member of Clean Ocean Action, Sandy Hook; and previous board member for the SPCA of Monmouth County, Eatontown. She was predeceased by her father, John Sharrock. Mrs. DeVito is survived by her husband of 15 years, Mark A. DeVito of Rumson; her son, Jake DeVito of Rumson; two daughters, Janie E. DeVito and Jesse M. DeVito, both Rumson; her mother, Carolyn Sharrock of Belmar; her mother-in-law, Barbara DeVito of Colts Neck; her brother-in-law and his wife, Michael and Patti DeVito of Metuchen; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Jackie and Drew Clark of Spring Lake Heights, Nicole Sharrock of Atlantic Highlands, and Aimee Sharrock of Belmar; and a niece and two nephews. ELIZABETH ‘LILY’ McLOUGHLIN HALEY of Middletown died May 5 at home. Born in Dublin, Ireland, she resided in Fair Haven for 30 years prior to moving to Shadow Lake, Middletown, one year ago. She was a medical records supervisor at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank for 16 years, retiring in 1996. She was a communicant, cantor, Eucharistic minister and member of the choir at Church of The Nativity, Fair Haven. She enjoyed sewing, singing, acting and fashion designing. She was predeceased by two sisters, May Smart and Cathy Gallagher; and a brother, Edward McLoughlin. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James Haley of Middletown; her daughter, Bronwyn Haley of Clifton; her brother, James McLoughlin of San Francisco, Calif.; three sisters, Carmel McLoughlin of Middletown, Joan Sweder of Red Bank, and Annie McLoughlin of Dublin, Ireland; and several nieces and nephews. RUSSELL JOHN HOWELL, 61, of Freehold Township died May 1 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Queens Village, N.Y., he lived in Old Bridge before moving to Freehold Township 31 years ago. He was a limousine driver for Stagecoach Limousine, Marlboro. He was a charter member of the Freehold team in the Monmouth County Senior Softball League, where he was a player and coach. He was an umpire in the Freehold Borough Little League and the Freehold Township Little League. He was a private pilot. Surviving are his wife, Edwina Weis Howell; a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Dana Howell of Howell; a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Joseph Corson of Tinton Falls; a brother, Robert Howell of Florida; and three grandchildren. DELIA VILLAFANE FERREIRA, 74, of Monmouth Beach died April 30 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Humaco, Puerto Rico, she resided in New York prior to moving to Monmouth Beach in 1965. She was the owner and operator of La Sabrosita Restaurant, Perth Amboy, for 30 years, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ralph Ferreira of Monmouth Beach; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Nick and Sandra Ferreira of Monmouth Beach and Rick Ferreira of Brick; her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Irma Villafane of Newburgh, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Entombment was at Holmdel Mausoleum. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch.
DORIS L. LEINBACH FREDERICK, 76, of Eatontown died April 30 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. She was born in Camden. Mrs. Frederick was a medical records clerk at Bayshore community Hospital, Holmdel, before her retirement. She volunteered at the Senior Citizens Activities Network (SCAN), Eatontown, the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, Red Bank, and the Monmouth County Board of Elections. She enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, walking, and needlepoint. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell Harry Frederick, in 1961; a son, Russell Harry Frederick Jr., in 1996; and her brother, Donald Leinbach. Mrs. Frederick is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William and Robin Frederick of Eatontown; a daughter-in-law, Gail B. Frederick; two daughters and one son-in-law, Gail Wilson of Ocean, and Susan and Carlos Gaspar of Clark; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. CAROLINE REAMER, 96, of Red Bank died April 18 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. She was born in New York City, N.Y., and lived in Keyport most of her life. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Reamer, in 1967. Surviving are a son, Joseph B. Reamer of Middletown; a daughter, Theresa MacIsaac of Red Bank; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth, followed by burial in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Middletown.
MARY JANE ROEMER, 90, of Red Bank died April 9 at Navesink House, Red Bank. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived there and in Middletown before moving to Red Bank seven years ago. Mrs. Roemer was a teacher at the Brooklyn Diocese for more than 20 years before her retirement. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She also was involved in the communities of her residence, Shadow Lake Village, Middletown, and Navesink House. Mrs. Roemer was predeceased by her brother, Andrew Dalton.
