Ruth N. Wyckoff Murphy
Point Pleasant resident Ruth N. Wyckoff Murphy died Wednesday, March 21 in Claremont Center, Point Pleasant.
She was 78 years old.
Raised in Elizabeth, she also lived in Mansfield, Ohio before moving to Point Pleasant 36 years ago.
Mrs. Murphy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the B.P.O. Elks, Lodge No 1698, Point Pleasant; the Glorious Years; the Red Hat Society; the Deborah Foundation; and the Golden Circle.
She was an avid bowler and league member at the former 88 Lanes and enjoyed traveling, especially Aruba and Hawaii.
She was predeceased by her husband Jack.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas and Kenny Leppo; her daughter, Janet Leppo; a stepdaughter, Louise Anne Yannuzzi; a stepson, Lee Alan Murphy; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Thomas L. Davis
Ocean Township resident Thomas L. Davis, formerly of Point Pleasant, died Tuesday, March 27 in Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank.
He was 78 years old.
He had previously resided in Asbury Park, Point Pleasant and Middletown.
Mr. Davis was the administrator for the Red Bank Housing Authority, retiring in 1997.
Mr. Davis is survived by a daughter, Lisa Cicalese and her husband Vincent of Point Pleasant Beach; and two grandchildren, Vincent James and Haley Rose.
Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, is in charge of the arrangements. All services are private.

Anna Malaspina Lambusta
Point Pleasant resident Anna Malaspina Lambusta died Saturday, March 24 in Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
She was 83 years old.
She was a homemaker. Born in Wilmington Del., she lived in Ocean Township before moving to Point Pleasant 25 years ago.
She was a communicant of St. Martha’s Church, Point Pleasant.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Lambusta; two sons, Robert Lambusta of Brick, and Dr. Louis M Lambusta Jr. of Point Pleasant; a brother, Louis Malaspina and his wife Charlotte of Brick; three sisters, Mary Gregorio of Lakewood, Doro Tuscano and her husband Joseph of Nutley, and Carmella Craparotta of Toms River; and four grandchildren, Stephanie M., Torey M., Robert C. and Jeffery L.
Colonial Funeral Home, Brick, handled the arrangements. Interment
was at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Wall.
The family requests that no flowers be sent.
Robert W. Ketcham
Brick resident Robert W. Ketcham, who had many friends in Point Pleasant and Bay Head, died Thursday, Feb. 1 in Bay Head.
He was 61 years old.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, at 10 a.m. at All Saints’ Church, Bay Head, with the Rev. Bert Draesel presiding.
Interment will follow in the church Memorial Garden.
Elizabeth A. Smith
Point Pleasant resident Elizabeth A. Smith died Tuesday, March 27, 2007 in Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
She was 97 years old.
She was a dedicated homemaker and a loving mother, with a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed gardening all her life.
Born in Bayonne, she had lived in Jamesburg and Manhattan before moving to Spring Lake in 1949. She had lived in West Belmar and later with her daughter in Point Pleasant.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Michael and Luis LuBera.
She is survived b y two daughters, Betsy Smith of Wall and Suzanne Smith of Point Pleasant; her son and daughter-in-law, John and Maryjane Smith of Vero Beach, Fla.; four sisters, Veronica Kowaleski of Jamesburg, Anne LuBrea of New York, Victoria Vosk of Carneys Point, and Monica Owens of Plymouth, N.H.; her grandchildren Michael, Jeffrey, and Jillian Smith.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Pable-Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road [732-899-3300]. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Church of St. Martha, Point Pleasant, followed by interment at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Monroe. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
William David Quigley III
Point Pleasant resident William David Quigley III died Saturday, March 24 in his home
He was 61 years old.
Born in Newark, he lived in Kearney and moved to Point Pleasant 34 years ago.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving his country in the United States Marine Corps.
He was employed in the communications industry for 40 years; retiring from Lucent Technologies in 2001. Most recently, for the last three years, he was employed as sales director with Hitachi Telecom of Norcross Ga.
He was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Point Pleasant Beach.
He was a member of the United States Marine Corps Rifle Team, the BQ Mug Club - North and South, Point Pleasant Soccer Association, Point Pleasant Elks Lodge No. 1698, Knights of Columbus - St. Martha’s Council of Point Pleasant, The Bell Telephone Pioneers and The Lucent Retiree Organization. He was also a soccer coach for many years and was Point Pleasant High School’s “Greatest Fan and Supporter.”
His greatest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Catherine Quigley; and his brother, David A.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Margaret Christine Norton Quigley; two sons, Capt. William D Quigley IV, USMC of Hoboken, and Midshipman Patrick N. Quigley, United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. of Point Pleasant; and four daughters, Kelly Gray and her husband, Billy, of Point Pleasant, Erin Mitchell and her husband, Chris, of Wall, Megan Strickland and her husband, Trea of Toms River, and Tara Lewis and her, husband, David of Brick. He is also survived a brother, James A. and his wife, Chris, of Medford; three sisters, Karen Homiek and her husband, John, of
Toms River, Ellen Naughton and her husband, Bill, of Bloomfield and Nancy Quigley of Hopatcong; eight grandchildren, Liam, Madison, Alexis, Connor, David, Amanda, Christopher and Elizabeth; many nieces and nephews.
O’Brien Funeral Home, Brick, was in charge of arrangements. Interment
was at Greenwood cemetery in Brielle.

Hilda Elizabeth Spearer
Brick Township resident Hilda Elizabeth Spearer, formerly of Point Pleasant, died Sunday, March 25, in Laurelton Village Nursing Home, Brick.
She was 87 years old.
She was a superintendent for the Waterside Garden Apartments in Brick for 17 years, retiring in 1992.
Born in Newton, she lived in Point Pleasant before moving to Brick in 1976.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace L. Spearer, in 1994.
Surviving are four sons, George and his wife Pat Spearer of Wall, Andrew Spearer of Brick, Robert Spearer of Twain Harte, Calif., and James Spearer of Brick; two daughters, Rose and her husband John Spitz of Brick, and Anne and her husband Anthony Giacini of Brick; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held at 10 a.m. today until the service at 11 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Route 88, Brick. Interment
is private.

Joseph T. Donovan
Healdsburg, Calif, resident Joseph Timothy Donovan, whose sister lives in Point Pleasant, died in his home on March 21, surrounded by his family after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer.
He was 54 years old.
Mr. Donovan was born in Jersey City and was raised in Manasquan. He attended St. Denis School and St. Rose High School in Belmar.
He worked as a crane mechanic and a PennCentral Railroad brakeman before moving to Sonoma County, Calif, almost 30 years ago. After arriving in Sonoma County, Joe pursued his education, earning an associate’s degree from Santa Rosa Junior College and a bachelor of arts degree from the University of San Francisco .
Mr. Donovan was involved in his children’s activities as they grew up, including Boy Scouts, soccer and baseball. He lived in Glen Ellen for many years before moving to Healdsburg about two years ago. He was employed in the wine industry for more than 25 years, starting with Grand Cru Winery in Glen Ellen.
During his distinguished career, he was the Cellarmaster at Kendall Jackson and most recently he was the Cellarmaster at Simi Winery in Healdsburg. He loved to go camping, boating and to “drown a few worms” in his free time.
Mr. Donovan was the eighth of nine children of William W. and Catherine B. Donovan of Manasquan.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his brothers, John and Walter.
Surviving are his loving children, Daniel and Molly; his former wife, Carol Donovan of Glen Ellen, Calif.; his sisters, Kathy Donovan of Thomasville, N.C., Maureen Capuzzi and her husband, Al, of Morris Plains, and Colleen and her husband, Bob, of Point Pleasant.
Mr. Donovan is also survived by his brothers, William and his wife, Maureen, and Edward and his wife, Jane, of Manasquan, Matthew and his wife, Doriana; and his sister-in-law, Carol Donovan of Wall.
Mr. Donovan also has many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and many close friends on both coasts that will miss him very much.
A memorial service will be held in Manasquan some time in the near future for his family and friends on the East Coast, with the date to be announced.
