JOSEPH JAMES SANTELLE, 85, of Oceanport died March 12 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Newark, he resided in Red Bank prior to moving to Oceanport. Mr. Santelle was employed at Blaisdell Lumber, Red Bank, for 30 years, retiring in 1981. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and in the Naval Reserve for 40 years. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. His memberships included the Retired Officers Association, Naval Airship Association, and American Builders Association. He was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Antoinette M. Alexander Santelle, in 1982. Mr. Santelle is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Lane of Keyport, Pamela Conklin of Oceanport and Jamie Kretsch of Eatontown; his brother, Dominick Santelle of Little Silver; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson. CONCETTA L. "CONNIE" LONGETTE, 79, of Aberdeen died March 20 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Red Bank, she was a lifelong resident of Aberdeen. Mrs. Longette was a homemaker, and a saleswoman at Westridge Clothing, Keyport, for nine years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas J. Longette, in 1999; and a grandson, John Longette, in 2001. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Salvatore and Florence Longette of Middletown, Thomas and Elizabeth Longette of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Robert Longette of Aberdeen; two daughters and one son-in-law, Margaret Mathews of Holmdel, and Bernadette and Bill Spafford of Aberdeen; her sister, Ann Thompson of Long Branch; her sister-in-law, Christine Maletto of Shrewsbury; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. A funeral service was held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Entombment was at Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel.
FRANCIS X. MURPHY SR., 48, of Middletown died Feb. 27 at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center, New Brunswick. Born in Jersey City, he was a lifelong resident of Middletown. He was a lithographer at Local No. 1 Amalgamated Lithographers of America, and worked at various printing companies in New Jersey for 27 years. He was a Secular Franciscan Apostolate, 3rd Order. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was predeceased by his wife, Darlynn Murphy; and his father, James J. Murphy. He is survived by his mother, Jean C. Murphy of Middletown; his daughter, Colleen Murphy; two sons, Francis X. Murphy Jr., and Michael Murphy; seven brothers, James J. Murphy III of Hazlet, Sean P. Murphy of Little Silver, Joseph James Murphy of North Carolina, and Thomas A. Murphy, Kevin J. Murphy, Richard "Ted" Murphy, and Paul Murphy, all of Middletown; and three sisters, Jean Marie Chudzik and Annmarie Murphy O’Reilly, both of Middletown, and Valentina Marie Feldman of Hazlet. SANTIAGO POUSO, 86, of Red Bank died Feb. 28 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Puebla De Caraminal, Spain, he had been a resident of Red Bank since 1963. Mr. Pouso owned and operated Shrewsbury Exxon for 25 years before his retirement. He served with the Spanish Navy for 18 years, retiring as an officer. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. His activities included spending time with his family, sailing, swimming, reading, and travel to Spain. He was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters. Mr. Pouso is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rose Toscano Pouso; two sons, James A. and Linda M. Pouso of Shrewsbury, and John and Kathleen A. Pouso of Little Silver; his daughter, Mariann Pouso of Tinton Falls; his grandson; two granddaughters; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial

ANNA C. PETRILLO, 86, of Tuckerton died March 8. Born in Newark, she resided in Middletown for 30 years before moving to Tuckerton three years ago. Mrs. Petrillo was a retired security guard for Wackenhut Industries and AT&T, Lincroft section of Middletown. Prior to that, she was a payroll administrator at Two Guys department store, Middletown, for 15 years, retiring in 1983. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Mrs. Petrillo is survived by two daughters, Millicent Guzzi of Long Branch and Barbara Lorch of Tuckerton; two brothers, Jules Caprio of Florida and Michael Caprio of Red Bank; three sisters, Jay Grassgreen and Gloria Ruglio, both of North Jersey, and Thelma Spatola of the Leonardo section of Middletown; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. DOROTHY D. DIXON OCHES, 79, of Middletown died March 4 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Union, she had been a Middletown resident since 1941. Mrs. Oches was a retired cashier at ShopRite, Middletown. Prior to that, she worked at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, and Bendix Corp., Red Bank. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown, where she was also a former member of the Altar Rosary Society. Her activities included spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Dixon. JEAN O. BAECHTLE, 83, of Union Beach died March 5 at home following a long illness. Born in Newark, she resided in Union, Hillside and Red Bank before moving to Union Beach to live with her daughter’s family. She was employed at Bristol-Myers Squibb for more than 40 years. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen J. and James P. McGuinness of Union Beach; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. BEATRICE GRAVATT, 88, of Oceanport died March 6 at home. She was born in Clarksburg, and was a graduate of Freehold High School. She was employed at Dainty Apparel, Asbury Park, for several years, retiring in 1982. She was predeceased by two husbands; four brothers, Paul, Carl, Art and Bill Gravatt; and her sister, Thelma. She is survived by two sisters, Olive G. Broege, Bradley Beach, and Barbara G. Forrester, Vienna, Va.; seven nephews; six nieces; and several grand-nephews and nieces. KATHLEEN M. NOLAN, 90, of Fair Haven died March 9 in Livingston. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was a homemaker and also employed at John J. Doody and Son, Brooklyn. She was a communicant of the Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. She was predeceased by her husband, James P. Nolan in 1960; and two sons, Joseph Nolan in 1938, and Francis X. Nolan in 1987. She is survived by three sons, James G. Nolan of Far Rockaway, N.Y., John P. Nolan of Philadelphia, and the Rev. Jerome M. Nolan of Fair Haven; her daughter, Mary K.
