Daniel V. Will
Toms River resident Daniel V. Will, formerly of Wall, died Sunday after a battle with cancer.
He was 65 years old.
Born in rural Delphos, Ohio, he initially heard God’s call and went through several years of training in St. Meinrad’s Roman Catholic Seminary. Ultimately, the desire for family life led him to modify his vocation, spending his life as a husband and father, serving the disabled of New Jersey.
He earned a master’s of education at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he met his wife. He worked for the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation for 36 years as counselor, supervisor, manager and ultimately Chief of Rehab Facilities for 15 years until his retirement in 2004.
He was known for his utmost integrity and compassion. A colleague described him on his retirement as “never boastful and never once looking for recognition, but being grateful for getting the job done. He was always willing to help a colleague or support his staff, even when he didn’t agree. His priority was always the people he served.”
Mr. Will was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, relative, and friend. He was never happier than when he was playing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife K. Sheila of Toms River; sisters Mary E. Will of Delphos, Ohio and Sr. Victora Will S.N.D. of Jacksonville, Fla.; children Patricia and Daniel and their families, and three grandchildren, Daniel, Salvatore, and Alexandra.
There was a viewing held yesterday, Wednesday, Feb. 28 at the O’Brien Funeral Home in Wall from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral mass will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Asbury Park at 10 a.m. today.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be mde to Amigos de Jesus, 118 Woodland Ave., Malvern, PA 19355, an organization giving love, hope and homes to impoverished children in Honduras.
Kathleen Gorecke
Wall resident Kathleen Gorecke died Friday, Feb. 23 at Neptune Rehabilitation and Care Center in Neptune.
She was 90 years old.
Mrs. Gorecke was a dining room manager for Deal Golf and Country Club in Deal for 20 years, before retiring in 1986. Born in Harrison, she lived in Kearny before moving to the shore area in 1946.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Gorecke, in 1967.
Surviving are two sons, George A. Gorecke of Wall and Richard J. Gorecke of Florida; two daughters, Carole G. Henry of Florida and Linda L. Shafto of Florida; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. A private cremation will be at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Francioni, Taylor and Lopez Funeral Home, 1200 10th Ave. at Atkins Avenue in Neptune, is in charge of the arrangements.
Wesley V. Banse, Jr.
Voorhees resident Wesley Vernon Banse, Jr., formerly of Manasquan, died Tuesday, Feb. 6 at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa.
He was 63 years old.
A graduate of Sterling High School, Class of 1962, Mr. Banse received his bachelor’s of science degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, after serving four years in the U.S. Navy.
He taught at Sterling High School and also owned and operated Triangle Moving Company for many years. For approximately 30 years, he was associated with the Wayne Bommer Plumbing Co. of Laurel Springs.
Mr. Banse was a member of New Life Church of Voorhees, where he served in the music ministry. He was also an avid golfer.
He was predeceased by his mother, Grace Fortune Banse. Mr. Banse is survived by his wife, Linda L. Hartley Banse; son, Joseph and his wife, Pam Banse; daughter, Julia and her husband, Jeremy MacFarland, and Kathleen Kieper; grandchildren, Danielle, Matt, Jackson and Tatum; father, Lt. Col. [Ret.] Wesley Banse Sr.; sister, Carole Doyon; brother, Glen Banse, and two nieces and two nephews.
Family and friends were invited to attend his visitation with the family on Friday, Feb. 9. The funeral service was held at Eugene J. Zale Funeral Home in Stratford. Burial
and graveside service was held on Saturday, Feb. 10 at Atlantic View cemetery in Manasquan.

William F. Andrews
Toms River resident William F. Andrews passed away Sunday, Feb. 18 at Sunnyside Manor in Manasquan. He leaves behind many loved ones, including family in Wall and Spring Lake.
He was 92 years old.
William was a credit manager for Spring Mills in New York City. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. William was an avid golfer and an accomplished guitarist. He and his brothers, Stephen Andrews SJ and Daniel Andrews, performed on WMCA radio prior to World War II.
William was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family. Born and raised in Greenwich Village, N.Y., he moved to Ridgefield in 1963 and resided there for 31 years before moving to Toms River in 1994.
William is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Weir Andrews, of Toms River. He is also survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert and Susan O’Dea Andrews of Wall, William Andrews Jr. of Spring Lake, and Stephen and Anne Jerene Andrews of Rockaway; five grandchildren, Matthew, Elizabeth, Emily, Corrine and Allison.
Arrangements are under the direction of Orender Family Home for Funerals in Manasquan. Burial
will be private.

Oscar C. Olsen, Jr.
Manasquan resident Oscar C. Olsen, Jr. died Monday, Feb. 26 at Brick Medical Center in Brocktown.
He was 80 years old.
Mr. Olsen was a Fire Captain for the Fort Monmouth Fire Department in Eatontown, before his retirement many years ago. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Fire Co. #2, both of Manasquan, the Exempt Firemen of Point Pleasant Beach, the Point Pleasant Beach First Aid Squad, the Old Guard of Bricktown and Ocean Lodge #89 F and A.M. of Spring Lake Heights.
He was a graduate of Manasquan High School and the University of West Virginia where he received the Peter Blackson Roetzel Football Award in 1943. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in WW II.
Born in Spring Lake Heights, Mr. Will lived most of his life in Manasquan.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Parker and a brother Thomas of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Visitation will be held today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Armitage Funeral Home on Highway 34 in Wall Township.
Masonic services will be held at 8:00 p.m.
Religious services will be tomorrow, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with interment in Atlantic View cemetery in Manasquan.
Kathleen Ann Kosic
Kathleen [Kathy] Ann Kosic, 67, formerly of Point Pleasant, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 21, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She passed away peacefully under the care of hospice in her daughter’s home, surrounded by loved ones. Born on December 25, 1947 in Point Pleasant, she was preceded in death by her parents, Linden Edward and Virginia Reynolds Warren, and her sisters, Lois Warren DiCorsia and Patricia Warren Gant.
Kathy shared her love of books and reading with thousands of students while working as an elementary school librarian/media specialist. She spent many years in Columbia, South Carolina teaching at Lonnie B. Nelson, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, and Killian Elementary schools.
After moving to Chesapeake, Virginia in 2004, she worked at Holland Elementary School in Virginia Beach, Virginia until she retired in June 2014.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Lisa Kosic Walker and husband Rodger of Suffolk and Laura Mershon Kosic of Virginia Beach; sister, Norma Ritchings, and brother, George Warren, both of New Jersey; two grandchildren, Ethan Grant Walker and Alyssa Grace Walker; and a host of extended family. Kathy was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Great Bridge United Methodist Church, 201 Stadium Drive, Chesapeake VA 23322.

Patricia Lynn Mayer
Patricia Lynn Mayer, 70, of Point Pleasant, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 24 with her family by her side.
Patricia was born in Mount Holly and raised in Manasquan. She was a graduate of Manasquan High School. Patricia was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Manasquan. She was a homemaker who loved writing, gardening and caring for her grandchildren.
Patricia was predeceased by her mother, Emilie Flammer.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Raymond Mayer of Point Pleasant; her father, Richard Flammer and his wife Pat of Brick; her children, Robin [Brian] Carroll of Point Pleasant, Chris [Angele] Mayer of Point Pleasant, Brian [Amy] Mayer of Farmingdale, Jodie Mayer of Point Pleasant, Traci [Paul, Jr.] Wood of Clifton and Shawn Mayer of Sandy, Utah.
Patricia is also survived by a brother, Richard Flammer of San Diego, California; three sisters, Candy [Doug] Berger of Dallas, Texas, Sherry Flammer of Napa, California and Janet Pospisil and her husband Billy of Manasquan; and seven grandchildren, Christopher, Alex, Mackenzie, Parker, Bennett, Cole and Emma.

Emma McGrath
Emma McGrath, 87, of Neptune, with family in Wall, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Newark.
Born in Jersey City, Mrs. McGrath has resided in Neptune for 51 years.
She was a communicant of Holy Innocents Catholic Church and the Senior Citizens Club, both in Neptune.
Emma was predeceased by her husband, Walter A. McGrath, who passed away in 2008.
She is survived by three sons, Kevin McGrath and Brian McGrath, both of Neptune, and Keith McGrath and his wife, Kristen, of Howell, and a daughter, Erin Savage and her husband, Greg, of Wall.
She is also survived by her sister, Helen Mascia, Middlesex, and her loving eight grandchildren.
Burial
was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Neptune.
The O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall, was in charge of arrangements.
Walter Davis Graham
Walter Davis Graham, 97, formerly of Manasquan and a World War II veteran and retired U.S. Army CWO4, passed away peacefully on Nov. 15.
He was living at Pinecrest Place, Largo, Fla.
Walter was born and raised in Vineland, and was a graduate of Vineland High School [1933].
He joined the National Guard, in 1937, and retired from the regular Army in 1970.
During his military career, Walter served in the U.S., Europe, Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and the Bronze Star.
After retiring, Mr. Graham was employed by the Sea Girt, police department as a dispatcher.
Walter had been active in the Kiwanis in both New Jersey and Florida, as well as the VFW and Disabled American Veterans.
He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church, in Manasquan, and attended Faith Presbyterian Church, in Seminole, Fla.
He was a part-time resident of Florida for 30 years before moving there permanently in 2005 from Manasquan.
Walter enjoyed golf, swimming, dancing and music.
Mr. Graham was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Mary Ellen [Mae] McTighe Graham, who died in 1984, his brother, Kenneth and sister, Marjorie.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol Franco [Charles], of Las Vegas, Nev. and Eileen Walker-Manning [Eric Manning], of Victoria, B.C., Canada, four grandchildren and a sister-in-law.
Walter Graham will be cremated in Largo; his remains will be sent to New Jersey for internment.
