Joseph J. Kersus
Joseph J. Kersus, 92, of Wall passed away Tuesday, Jan. 26 at Care One of Wall.
Joseph was born and raised in Worcester, Mass. He worked as a wool sorter for Hudson Wool and Mohair, Hudson, Mass. for many years. He later retired from Hillcrest Dairy in Worcester, Mass. Joseph was an Army veteran and served in the China, Burma, India Theater of Operations during World War II. Joseph and his wife Albina moved to Cape Cod and then to Vero Beach, Fla. Joseph moved to Wall in 2006. Joseph and his wife thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the beach and playing bridge.
Joseph was predeceased by his wife of 53 years Albina [nee Matachinskas] Kersus in 2001. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Gerald and Kathleen [Dorsey] Kersus of Wall, a grandson Matthew Kersus of Allston, Mass.; a sister-in-law Ann Kokernak, Jefferson, Mass.; a brother-in-law Peter Matachinkas and his wife Ann, Worcester, Mass.; five nieces Rita Dattis and Frances Mattrick both of Millbury, Mass.; Katherine Fox, Worcester, Mass.; Sister Mary Ann Matachinskas, Ghana and Elaine Ritchie, Harvard, Mass.; two nephews Peter A. Matachinskas, Worcester, Mass. and John Kokernak, Linden, Va.
Arrangements are under the direction of Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan.
A private Memorial Funeral Mass of Christian Burial
will be held at a later time.

Barbara Stesner Cawley
Barbara Stesner Cawley, 48, of Wall Township died on Monday, Feb. 1 at Ocean County Medical Center in Brick.
Mrs. Cawley had outstanding artistic abilities, a passion for cooking, and a love for every life. With her magnetic smile and personality, she was the ideal mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a member of the local chapter of Catholic Charities and St. Denis RC Church in Manasquan.
Born in Jersey City, she grew up in Holmdel before moving to Wall Township 15 years ago.
Surviving are her loving husband of nine years, Charles E. Cawley, her daughters Brittany and Mallory Sheklian, her parents Vincent and Marilyn 'Cookie' Stesner of Morganville and Long Beach Island, her sister Beth Cox and husband Gregory Cox of Point Pleasant Beach, her sister Robin Grimaldi and husband Joe Grimaldi of Aberdeen, her brother David Stesner and wife Deanna Filippo Stesner of N.Y.C., N.Y., her niece Shannon and nephews Michael, Taylor and Shane, and dogs Bridgette and Biscuit.
Visiting will be tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the O'Brien Funeral Home in Wall Township. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be held at St. Denis RC Church in Manasquan on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 9:30 a.m.
Elia M. Ferreri
Elia M. Ferreri, 79, of Spring Lake Heights, died Saturday, Jan. 30 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
Born in New York City, he lived in Wood Ridge, before moving to Spring Lake Heights 17 years ago,
Mr. Ferreri was a guidance counselor for the NYC Board of Education for over 30 years before retiring. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a member of St. Catharine RC Church in Spring Lake. Elia was an avid Met fan. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels, loved to travel, golf, trips to Atlantic City and fine restaurants.
Mr. Ferreri was predeceased by his first wife Rawnie and is survived by his wife, Katherine.
The Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan, was in charge of arrangements.
Thomas Henry Gallagher
Mr. Thomas Henry Gallagher, of Avon, passed away peacefully on Jan. 30, surrounded by his loving family at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
He was 82 years old.
Mr. Gallagher has been a consultant for Student Transportation of America in Wall Twp. since 1999. He was the owner and founder of Coast Cities Coaches in Neptune City which he owned from 1946 to 1987. He worked for Laidlaw Transit from 1987 to 1999. Mr. Gallagher was a 50 year member of the Rotary Club of Point Pleasant having the distinction of a perfect attendance record. He was a communicant of Saint Elizabeth's RC Church in Avon where he was the Head Usher and and member of the Holy Name Society. He was the Troop Master of Boy Scout Troop No. 89 in Avon for 40 years. He was a US Merchant Marine Veteran of World War II. Born in Passaic he has lived in Avon since 1950. Mr. Gallagher is predeceased by his loving wife, Dorothy, and his brother Dennis.
He is survived by his sons Thomas H. Gallagher Jr. of Juno Beach Fla., Timothy M Gallagher and his wife Elise of Avon, Douglas M. Gallagher and his wife Arlene of Wall, Denis Gallagher and his wife Mary of Charleston S.C., his brother Peter J. Gallagher and his wife Mary, his sisters Sheila Cross and her husband Gage, and Jean Chen and her husband Mark, his grandchildren Tamsin Honor, Matthew, Edith, Jennifer, Christine, Denis Jr., Mara and Patrick Gallagher and Kelly Engelbert, and great- granddaughters, Clare and Elizabeth Engelbert.
The Reilly Funeral Home, Belmar, was in charge of arrangements. Entombment was held in Saint Catharine's Mausoleum, Sea Girt.

Rosemary A. Keenan
Adored by all who knew her, Rosemary Ann Keenan, 77, of Manasquan, left us on Tuesday, Feb. 2, for a much deserved trip to Heaven to be reunited with her husband, Donald 'Pop' Keenan, whom she had been married
to for 54 years.
Born in Jersey City, Rosemary, who was lovingly called 'MooMa, ' had lived in Clifton, Totowa, North Caldwell, and most recently, Manasquan. She was a real 'Jersey Girl.' A graduate of Jersey City State Teachers College, MooMa enjoyed a career in teaching, as well as in business, with her 17 memorable years spent at General Electric Company. She was a woman of impeccable faith, beauty, intelligence, and grace. She loved to play ping-pong and skeeball, listen to Andrea Bocelli and watch her favorite movies, 'An Affair to Remember' and 'The Sound of Music.' Her love of life and laughter enabled her to endure all things, and truly inspire all who knew her. We are forever grateful for her, and every moment with her was a gift. We will all miss her dearly, and will never forget all she has taught us and the smiles she always brought us.
Rosemary is survived by her adoring family, including her children: Linda of Manasquan, Marilyn and her husband Gil of California, Donald S. and his wife Jeanmarie of Scotch Plains, Richard and his wife Jennifer of Mount Laurel, and Sherri and her husband Carl of Manasquan; her grandchildren: Tracie, Ryan, Sean, Donnie, Maggie, Patrick, Kyle, and Dillon, and her brother, Edward Keane of Nutley. She was predeceased by Donald 'Pop' Keenan, her sister, Helen 'Hun' Brennan, and her parents.
Rosemary was especially grateful for her most beloved friends: Father Edward Ciuba, Father Anthony Randazzo, Dr. Marco Tartaglia, Terry and Danny-Boy Kavanagh, and her best friend and sister, Joan Keenan, the people who were always there for her in life.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 4 at Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South St., Manasquan. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 5 at St. Denis Church, Manasquan with interment following at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Jane C. Randolph
Jane C. Randolph, 75, of Manasquan, died Saturday, Jan. 30 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Neptune, she lived in Neptune before moving to Manasquan 42 years ago.
Mrs. Randolph was a school teacher for H.W. Mountz in Spring Lake for 28 years before retiring in 1997. After retirement she worked in her son's store, Randolph's Galleries in Spring Lake Heights for many years. Jane was a lifelong Yankee fan. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at Atlantic City and at the beach.
Mrs. Randolph is survived by her husband John S. and is also survived by her son, Robert of Wall, two daughters, Cheryl Mueller of Middletown and Marilyn Perro of Manasquan, six grandchildren, John Lachacz, Erin Patteson, Carla Mueller, Rose Schaber, Bobby and James Randolph, and one great-grandson, Brayden and her beloved cat, Taz.
The Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South St., Manasquan, is in charge of arrangements. Entombment was in the Atlantic View cemetery and Mausoleum.

Mary F. Rutledge
Mary F. Rutledge, 77, of the Manasquan Park section of Wall Township passed away Saturday, Jan. 30 at home with her family by her side. Mary was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and was raised in Bloomfield.
She married
her husband, Alfred, in 1953 and moved to Wall Township. She worked at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown for 20 years in the accounting department. Mary enjoyed traveling, shopping and hosting card clubs for her friends. Mary especially enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid fan of her grandchildren's activities.
Mary is survived by her husband of 57 years, Alfred Rutledge of Wall; a son and daughter-in-law James A. and Mary Beth Rutledge of Brick; a daughter Laurie Rutledge of Brielle; five grandchildren, Heather, Brian and Kyle Hruska and Lindsay and Christopher Rutledge. She is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law James and Susan Muller of Delaware; two sisters, Virginia Russell of Hilton Head, S.C. and Rita Fischer of Wall Township.
Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan, was in charge of arrangements. Interment
was private.

Norman Abood
Norman Abood, 86, of the Wayside section of Ocean Township, with family in Belmar and Wall, passed away Thursday Jan. 28 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Norman had been the owner and operator of the family owned Abood Contracting, New York, N.Y. from 1946 until his retirement. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. he had lived in Allenhurst for 35 years before moving to Wayside 10 years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a Communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Deal.
Surviving is his devoted wife of 34 and one half years Rita Fautz Abood, his nieces and nephews Patti and Gary Rosenblum, Rick and Carol Lame, Robby and Marijean Lame, Kathy and Bill Alpaugh and Joe and Cathy Stornelli, his 2 sisters and their spouses Sally and Richard Lame Sr. of Belmar and Elaine and Joseph Stornelli of Wall, and his 10 grand nieces and nephews and 6 great grand nieces and nephews.
The O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall, was in charge of arrangements. Burial
was in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
