James A. Hatton, 69, of Scotch Plains died on Friday, May 29, 1998 at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Born in East Orange, he had lived in Union before moving to Scotch Plains 35 years ago.
He received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in business administration from Rutgers University in Newark.
Mr. Hatton was the owner and President of Jersey Forging Inc. in Jersey City.
He was a member of the Willow Grove Presbyterian Church, Gavel Lodge No. 273 of Free and Accepted Masons in Union.
He was a former member and Elder at the Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church in Union. Surviving are his wife, Irene Hartenstein Hatton; two daughters, Debra Hatton of Scotch Plains and Lynn Decker of Clinton; a son, Scott Hatton of Clinton; a sister, Jean LeCarl of Union, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 2, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue, Fanwood.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Home, 185 Tuckerton Road, Medford, 08055-1346.
Goldie Bauchner, 84
Goldie Bauchner, 84, of Scotch Plains died on Saturday, May 30, 1998 in Ashbrook Nursing Home in Scotch Plains.
Born in Elizabeth, she had lived in New York City before moving to Scotch Plains four years ago.
Miss Bauchner had been a buyer for R. H. Macy's in New York City before retiring 17 years ago.
She is survived by a brother, Arthur Bauchner.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 1, in Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge.
Arrangements were handled by the Menorah Chapels at Millburn in Union.
Florence Eide, 88
Florence Eide, 88, of Westfield died on Tuesday, May 26, 1998 in the Cranford Hall Nursing Home in Cranford.
Born in Newark, she had lived in Union for many years before moving to Westfield two years ago.
Mrs. Eide had been a secretary and office manager with the Gulf Oil Company in Linden before retiring in 1971.
Surviving is a brother, Thomas Joyce.
A Mass was offered on Friday, May 29, in St. Genevieve's Roman Catholic Church in Elizabeth, following the funeral from the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home in Elizabeth.

Kathleen Kozak-Arent, 52, of Mountainside died on Saturday, May 30, 1998 in Manor Care Nursing Home in Mountainside.
Born in Newark, she had lived in Mountainside for most of her life.
Mrs. Kozak-Arent had been a department manager for Quest Diagnostics in Teterboro until one year ago.
Surviving are a son, Stanley Vincent Arent, Jr.; a daughter, Heather Ann Arent; a brother, Paul Kozak, Jr., and her mother, Catherine Kozak.
A Funeral Mass was offered on Tuesday, June 2, in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Mountainside.
Arrangements were handled by the Higgins and Bonner -Echo Lake Funeral Home in Westfield.
Dorothy J. Carone, 81
Dorothy J. Carone, 81, of Mantoloking Shores died on Sunday, May 31, 1998 at Brick Hospital.
Born in Scotch Plains, she had lived in Middlesex prior to moving to Mantoloking Shores in 1985.
Mr. Carone was a housewife. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas Carone, in 1988. Surviving are a son, John R. Carone of Piscataway; a daughter, Dolores Carone of Mantoloking Shores, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Friday, June 5, at 10 a.m. at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals in Lavallette.
Visitation will take place today, Thursday, June 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.
Marjorie Fitzgerald, 79
Rosarian; Worked at Sealfon's for 23 Years
Marjorie Ward Fitzgerald, 79, of Westfield died on Sunday, May 31, 1998 in Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia.
Born in Bayonne, she had resided in the Westfield and Scotch Plains area since 1952.
Mrs. Fitzgerald had worked part-time as a saleswoman at Sealfons in Westfield for 23 years prior to retiring this past January.
She was a founding member of the Marian Society at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church in Bayonne. Mrs. Fitzgerald was also a charter member of the Amity Club of Westfield and the Holy Trinity Mothers Guild.
She was a member of the Rosary Society at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Westfield, and the Rosary Society of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains.
She was a long-time member of Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield.
Mrs. Fitzgerald was predeceased by her husband, John J. Fitzgerald, and a daughter, Grace Petrick. Surviving are a son, John J. Fitzgerald, Jr. of Roseland; five daughters, Jean Van Horn of Savannah, Georgia, Kathy Fitzgerald of Tampa, Florida, Geri Bishop of Vienna, Virginia, Maureen Shackelton of Bridgewater and Colleen Gore of Herndon, Virginia; a brother, A. John Ward of Bayonne; 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place today, Thursday, June 4, from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered tomorrow, Friday, June 5, at the church. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Arrangements are being handled by the Dooley Colonial Funeral Home, 556 Westfield Avenue, in Westfield.

Louis M. Pisane, 88, of Lakehurst died on Sunday, March 29, 1998 at Sun Coast Hospital in Largo, Florida.
Born in Brooklyn, he had lived in Bound Brook for 35 years before moving to Lakehurst 14 years ago.
He was a tinsmith at American Cyanamid in Bridgewater. Mr. Pisane was a former member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Bound Brook.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Bridgit Argullo Pisane; two sons, Louis D. Pisane of Scotch Plains and Randolph Pisane of Westfield; a sister, Christine Pannone of St. Petersburg, Florida, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. today, Thursday, April 2, at the Conroy Funeral Home in Bound Brook, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Mary's Church in Bound Brook.

Winifred I. Watson, 72, of Scotch Plains died on Monday, March 23, 1998 at home.
Born in New York City, she had lived in The Bronx before moving to Scotch Plains 28 years ago.
She had been an administrative assistant at Voorhees Community College in Brooklyn for 20 years, retiring in 1991.
Mrs. Watson was a former member of the Holy Ghost Pentecostal Tabernacle in New York City and a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Springfield.
Surviving are her husband, Earl H. Watson; three daughters, Paula D. Watson, Michele C. Watson and Cheryl E. Watson, all of Scotch Plains; a brother, Ralph King of Cambria Heights, New York; two sisters, Sylvia Donnelly of East Orange and Marilyn Samuels of Staten Island, New York, and a granddaughter
