Enrico DeMarco, 69
Enrico DeMarco, 69, of Westfield died on Monday, May 4 1998.
Born and raised in Dragoni Caserta, Italy, he came to the United States in 1965 and settled in Westfield.
Mr. DeMarco had been a machinist for Beckly Perforated in Garwood for 28 years, retiring in 1990.
He served in the Italian Army during World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Anna Frasso DeMarco; five daughters, Assunta Ziegler, Raffelina DiRienzo, Olga Hackett, Rosaria Signorelli and Angelina DeMarco; two sons, Thomas DeMarco and Jerry DeMarco; three sisters, a brother, and nine grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. today, Thursday, May 7, at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Westfield. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Dooley Colonial Funeral Home, 556 Westfield Avenue in Westfield.

Ronald A. Schadle, 65
Store Owner; Active in Golf Association, Ministry
Ronald Arthur Schadle, 65, of Sunset Beach, North Carolina, formerly of Westfield, died on Saturday, April 4, 1998 at home.
Born in Rahway on July 7, 1932, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Myrtle Barton Schadle.
Prior to moving to Sunset Beach in 1990, he had owned and operated Elm Radio and T.V. Sales and Service in Westfield.
Mr. Schadle helped institute the Beach Ministry at Sunset Beach, and was a member of the Sea Trails Golf Association.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Gayle Martyn Schadle; a son, Richard Arthur Schadle of Moorestown; a daughter, Donna S. Ellis of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania; a brother, Charles F. Schadle of Fanwood, and two grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, May 9, in the Willow Grove Presbyterian Church, 1961 Raritan Road in Scotch Plains.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Brunswick Funeral Service in Shallotte, North Carolina.

Insurance Broker; Graduated from Purdue University
Kevin M. McLaughlin, 43, of Middletown died on Saturday, May 2, 1998 at home.
Born in Fanwood, he had moved to Middletown in 1981.
Mr. McLaughlin was an insurance broker for Bryson Associates in New York City for many years.
He graduated from Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana in 1977.
Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline McLaughlin; four daughters, Maureen McLaughlin, Meghan McLaughlin, Kerry McLaughlin and Beth McLaughlin; his parents, Thomas and Elizabeth McLaughlin; a brother, Brian McLaughlin, and a sister, Donna Marciciewicz.
A Funeral Liturgy was held yesterday, Wednesday, May 6, at St. Leo the Great Church in Lincroft.
Arrangements were handled by the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home in Middletown.
Jaqueline Van Doren
Jaqueline Van Doren, 81, of Vero Beach, Florida and Seaside Park died on Thursday, April 30, 1998 at Royal Palm Convalescent Center in Florida.
Born in Brooklyn, she grew up in Westfield, where she had lived until the 1940s. She and her family moved to Darien, Connecticut in 1957, where they lived until 1973. For the past 10 years, they divided their time between Seaside Park and Vero Beach.
A graduate of Barnard College in New York City, Mrs. Van Doren and her husband started Darien Hardware in Darien in 1957, which they operated until their daughter took over the business in 1973.
She was a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Florida and the Vero Beach Women's Club.
Surviving are her husband, Emerson Van Doren; a son, Barclay Van Doren of McLean, Virginia; a daughter, Sally Van Doren Dohm of Darien; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were private under the direction of the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street in Westfield, and the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
Dorothy V. Green, 81
Dorothy V. Sherrier Green, 81, of Westfield died on Tuesday, May 5, 1998 at the Westfield Center, Genesis ElderCare Network, in Westfield.
Born in Elizabeth and raised in Cranford, she had lived in Westfield for 60 years.
Mrs. Green was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Court Trinity and the Rosary Society, as well as the Blue Army, all of the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Westfield.
She was predeceased by her husband, Martin J. Green, Sr.
Surviving are three sons, Martin J. Green, Jr., of Lake Forest, California, Robert Green and Richard Green, both of Westfield; a daughter, Catherine Green of Westfield; four sisters, Catherine Hollander, Ruth Voorhees, Irene Albans and Jean Bechtold; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, May 7, and tomorrow, Friday, May 8, at 9 a.m. at the Dooley Colonial Funeral Home, 556 Westfield Avenue in Westfield.

Richard B. Stump, 44
Richard B. Stump, Jr., 44, a lifelong resident of Westfield, died Tuesday, May 5, 1998 at Rahway Hospital in Rahway.
Mr. Stump received an associate degree in accounting from Kean College in Union and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, in 1976.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Westfield.
Surviving are his parents, Richard B. and Marion Stump of Westfield; a sister, Judith McGovern of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, and a brother, Steven Stump of Austin, Texas.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1 East Broad Street, in Westfield.
Arrangements are being handled by the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street, Westfield.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or to the Westfield Volunteer Rescue Squad, 335 Watterson Place, Westfield.
Peggy Downer
Peggy Downer of Bridgewater died on Monday, May 4, 1998 at home.
Born in Summit, she had lived in Westfield before moving to Bridgewater in 1988.
Miss Downer was employed by the CNA Insurance Company in Parsippany for the last three years as a claims adjuster, and was a member of the Professional Women's Association of Somerset County.
Surviving are her father, Arthur E. Downer of Westfield; a brother, Robert A. Downer of Westfield; a sister, Catherine Downer of Bridgewater, with whom she lived, and her grandmother, Eleanor Rogers of Berkeley Heights.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, May 7, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street in Westfield. Graveside services will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
