MADELINE A. GEIGER, 70, of Middletown died Jan. 15 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Hoboken, she resided in Middletown since 1968. She was a learning assistant in the writing lab at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown, for 20 years. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, William Geiger of Middletown; her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Monica Geiger of Shrewsbury; her daughter, Anne Geiger of Franklin Park; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Research and Treatment Fund Inc., 74 E. 79th St., Suite 5B, New York City, NY 10021.

CHARLES J. RAJNER, 59, of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, died Jan. 13 at home. Born in Tarnopol, Poland, he moved to the United States in 1949. He lived in New York City, Brooklyn, and Queens, N.Y., before moving to Port Monmouth in 1984. He was a retired cable splicer for Verizon, Brooklyn, for 30 years. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was predeceased by his parents, Emanuel and Karolina Rajner; a brother, Benny Reiner, in 1997; and two sisters, Janka Gorski and Sr. Mary Rajner, both in 1998. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marilyn Clark Rajner of Port Monmouth; two sons, Brandon Rajner of Little Silver, and Christopher Rajner of Port Monmouth; a daughter, Melanie Rajner of Parlin; four brothers, Edmond Rajner of Bainbridge, N.Y.; Richard Rajner of Glenn View, Ill.; John Rajner of Theresa, N.Y.; and Alex Rajner of Dumont; and a sister, Sarah Kaban of Central Islip, N.Y.. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to St. Barnabas Center for Hospice Care, 300 Second Ave., Long Branch, 07740.

KATHERINE HELEN FARLEY HORNECKER of Tinton Falls died March 22 at home. Born in Keyport, she resided in Middletown before moving to Tinton Falls. Mrs. Hornecker was a homemaker. She was a 27-year volunteer at the Fort Monmouth Thrift Shop, as well as Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Her memberships included the Fort Monmouth Officers’ Wives Club and Women’s Club, the Middletown Republican Club, Pioneers of America of AT&T, the Keyport Woman’s Club for 48 years, the Keyport Doll Club for 20 years, and the Root and Branch Garden Club of Keyport. She was predeceased by her first husband, James C. Emmons, in 1957; and her second husband, Bernard C. Hornecker Jr., in 1989. Mrs. Hornecker is survived by her daughter, Ruth Fleming of Highlands; her sister, Joyce Weinrich of Florida; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Keyport, Third and Main Streets, Keyport 07735.

DOROTHY "DOT" MARIE PAUELS, 85, of Rumson died March 29 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in the Locust section of Middletown, she resided in Rumson for the past 61 years. Mrs. Pauels was co-owner of Paul’s Boats, Rumson, from 1940-76. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Navesink section of Middletown. She was a member and past president of Oceanic Fire Auxiliary, Rumson; a member of the Eastern Star, Monmouth Chapter, Atlantic Highlands; and a member and past Royal Matron of the Order of Emerant Charity Court No. 38, Fair Haven. Mrs. Pauels was predeceased by a son, Peter J. Pauels Jr., in 1998. She is survived by her husband, Peter J. Pauels Sr. of Rumson; a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur "Nippy" and Mary E. Pauels of Rumson; a daughter-in-law, Patsy Pauels of California; a brother, William Stryker of Atlantic City; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at All Saints Episcopal Church, Navesink. Memorial donations may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, 202 Navesink Ave., Navesink 07752.

ESTHER KEYNTON SEVRET, 52, of Hazlet died March 30 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Neptune, she resided in South Belmar and Manasquan before moving to Hazlet 33 years ago. Mrs. Sevret was a registered nurse at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. She also was a private duty nurse at We Care, Oakhurst section of Ocean Township; Brentwood Nursing Home, Middletown; and Union Beach Board of Education, for 31 years. She was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. She was a member of Brunswick League, Hazlet. Mrs. Sevret is survived by her husband, Robert Sevret of Hazlet; two sons, Robert Sevret Jr. of Elizabethtown, Pa., and James Sevret of Hazlet; her daughter, Renee Sevret of Hazlet; three brothers, Martin Keynton and John Keynton, both of Wall Township, and Percy Keynton of Tinton Falls; three sisters, Rosemary Hughes of Neptune City, Ann Mary Lake of Jackson, and Therese Loftus of Bricktown; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach, followed by entombment at Holmdel Mausoleum.

JOSEPH JAMES SANTELLE, 85, of Oceanport died March 12 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Newark, he resided in Red Bank prior to moving to Oceanport. Mr. Santelle was employed at Blaisdell Lumber, Red Bank, for 30 years, retiring in 1981. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and in the Naval Reserve for 40 years. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. His memberships included the Retired Officers Association, Naval Airship Association, and American Builders Association. He was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Antoinette M. Alexander Santelle, in 1982. Mr. Santelle is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Lane of Keyport, Pamela Conklin of Oceanport and Jamie Kretsch of Eatontown; his brother, Dominick Santelle of Little Silver; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Roman Catholic Church. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, 100 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville 07834-1365.

CONCETTA L. "CONNIE" LONGETTE, 79, of Aberdeen died March 20 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Red Bank, she was a lifelong resident of Aberdeen. Mrs. Longette was a homemaker, and a saleswoman at Westridge Clothing, Keyport, for nine years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas J. Longette, in 1999; and a grandson, John Longette, in 2001. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Salvatore and Florence Longette of Middletown, Thomas and Elizabeth Longette of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Robert Longette of Aberdeen; two daughters and one son-in-law, Margaret Mathews of Holmdel, and Bernadette and Bill Spafford of Aberdeen; her sister, Ann Thompson of Long Branch; her sister-in-law, Christine Maletto of Shrewsbury; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. A funeral service was held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Entombment was at Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel.

EVELYN V. KASCH JANECZKO, 89, of Neptune died March 10 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Hoboken, she resided in Highlands prior to moving to Neptune. Mrs. Janeczko was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter J. Janeczko, in 1974. She is survived by her son, Walter J. Janeczko of Rumson.

CRAIG MATTHEW ABBES, 35, of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, died March 11 at home. Born in Red Bank, he was a lifelong resident of the Middletown/Port Monmouth area. A telephone technician, he was a communi­cant of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Atlantic Highlands. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Laurie L. Copple Abbes of Port Mon­mouth; his parents, Ronald C. and Sandra Craig Abbes of the Lincroft section of Middletown; two daughters, and sons, Kiley, Aubrey, Craig Jr. and Peter Abbes, all of Port Monmouth; three sisters, S. Carolyn Pelton of Toms River, Cheryl Kunze of Virginia Beach, Va., and Diane Costes of Alamo, Calif.; his brother, Ronald Abbes Jr. of Danville, Calif.; and his grandmothers, Gertrude Abbes of Holmdel and Al­ice Craig of Martinez, Calif. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Atlantic High­lands.
