Rev. Manuel Matias Rivera, age 77, died on December 21, 2000 at Heatherbank Nursing Home in Columbia, Pa. He was born in Bayamon, Puerto Ricoand was a former resident of Perth Amboy, NJ.
Rev. Rivera was a self-employed plumber for 40 years. He retired in 1986. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church, Perth Amboy, NJ and an Ordained Minister with the Association of Christian Ministers of Puerto Rico. He was predeceased by his wife, Carmen Matias who died in 1986.
Survived by: Surviving are his seven sons, Concepcion Gonzalez of Puerto Rico, Jersom Matias of Perth Amboy, NJ, Rev. Benjamin Matias of Perth Amboy, NJ, Manuel Matias, Jr. of Perth Amboy, NJ, Dennis Matias of Lancaster, PA, Edwin Matias of Cape Coral, FL and Lionel Matias of Lebanon, PA. also surviving are his daughter, Merlyn Matias de Aliciea of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, twenty grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one sister, Felicita Matias of Brooklyn, NY, and one brother, Angelo Rodriguez of Queens, NY.

Agnes Jean Toner
Life Dates: December 2, 1929 - January 12, 2001
Agnes Toner, age 71, died on Friday at her home in Edison. She was born in Ebervale, PA and had resided in Edison since 1942.
She was a Assembly Line Worker for Revlon in Edison, NJ for 18 years before retiring several years ago.
Mrs. Toner was a communicant of Guardian Angels Church in Edison, NJ and a former member of Deborah.
She was predeceased by her first husband Peter Metros.
Survived by: Surviving are her husband, Donald Toner of Edison, NJ; two daughters, Mary Ann Alberico of NY, and Jayne Marie Rutolo of Winter Port, ME; her son, Martin Metros of Brownville, ME; her stepchildren, Judy Metros of Brownville, ME, James Toner of Union Beach, NJ and Steven Toner of Brenola, Italy. Also surviving are her sisters, Irene DeAntonio of Edison, NJ, Margie DeVinceni of North Arlington, NJ, Eleanor Ruggiero of Manalapan, NJ and Lillian Hughes of Bellville, NJ; six grandchildren, Wendy and Dominic Alberico, Kelly, James and Timothy Toner and Jessica Metros and many nieces and nephews.

Ann Varga
Life Dates: July 28, 1923 - January 24, 2001
Ann Varga, age 77, died on Wednesday at Rahway Hospital. She was born in Keasbey and resided in Fords before moving to Colonia 29 years ago.
Mrs. Varga was a Homemaker, devoting her time to her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest J. Varga who died in 1995.
Survived by: Survivng are her daughter, Jean Varga of Jacksonville, Florida; her daughters and sons-in-law, AnnMarie and William Novellano of Iselin, and MaryAnn and Jimmy Cier of Homosassa Springs, Florida; her sisters, Mary Holled of Perth Amboy and Betty Patrick of Aberdeen; her brother, John Kozban and her niece, Peggy Patrick of Aberdeen. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Ernest & Michael Hennessy, William Novellano III, Heather Cier and Tony & Joey Feliciano and her great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jessica and Anthony

Joyce Yaffe

Joyce Yaffe, age 80 of Perth Amboy, died on Sunday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was born and raised in Perth Amboy and resided in Washington DC from 1963 to 1983 before moving back to Perth Amboy.
Joyce owned and operated the Cystal Shoppe in Perth Amboy, a family business of 60 years which was started by her mother Lena Ginsberg. She was past President of the Kearny Cottage in Perth Amboy and was also involved in Historical Preservation in the City of Perth Amboy including the Proprietary House.
Surviving are her children, Elissa Yaffe Cohen of Beijing, China, Karen Yaffe Lottes of Maryland, Lauren Yaffe Huang of Brooklyn, NY and Adam Yaffe of New York City, her grandchildren, Ariel, Samuel, Flora, Miranda, Elena, Mira, Jered, Kieran and Anya, her sisters, Dorothy Lemelson and Ila Miller and their sons, Eric, Robert, David and Patrick.
Memorial Service: Monday, February 23, 2009 at 3:00 p.m.

Jacob “ Jack” P. Weiss

Jacob “Jack” P. Weiss, age 83 and formerly of Perth Amboy, died on Friday at Yale University-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT. He was born in Perth Amboy and had resided in Fort Lee.
Jack was a retired Self employed Certified Public Accountant in Edison. He was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School and Bucknell University School of Finance and Commerce in Pennsylvania from where he received a BS degree in Accounting. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Mu and SMU Fraternities. He also played Basketball and Tennis at both Perth Amboy High School and Bucknell University teams.
He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII. He was also a member of the Lions Club of Metuchen.
He was predeceased by his son, Jonathan Morris who died in 1997.
He is survived by his wife Rhoda, of New York City, his daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and Paul Guerra of Hamden CT and Jeanne and Todd Siegel of New York City, his son Jeffrey Weiss of Manhattan Beach, CA and his six loving grandchildren.
Funeral Service: Graveside Services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Beth Israel Memorial Park Cemetery, Woodbridge

She was predeceased by her son, Stanley E. Szylar, Jr. who died in 1995 and her brothers, Wayne John and Brian John Leshko.
Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Stanley E. Szylar, her sons and daughter-in-law, Christopher John Szylar of Keasbey, NJ and Jason Paul and Stephanie Szylar of Fords, NJ, her two grandchildren, Brian Anthony and Abigail Grace, her father, Michael Leshko of Monmouth Junction, NJ, her mother, Joan Ann Clause Leshko of Brick, NJ, her sisters, Michelle Cappello of Lakewood, NJ and Lisa Leshko Cordova of Milltown, NJ and her brother, Gary Leshko of Springfield, NJ.

Donald A. Ritzdorf

Donald A. Ritzdorf, age 79 of Hopelawn, died on Friday at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. Born in Secaucus, NJ he resided most of his life in New York before moving to Hopelawn in 2005.
Mr. Ritzdorf was a self-employed Commercial Artist and did freelance work for many New York magazines. He was a graduate of Newark Public School of Fine and Industrial Art and received an Honor Certificate for meritorious service. He served in the Army following WWII, and enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1954.
He was the son of the late Alfred and Edna Ritzdorf.
Surviving are his sisters, Jean Todd of Perth Amboy and Janet Kalet of Montague, NJ and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Sunday, March 22, 2009 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.
